::::Rosemary Myrtle::::Female::::16::::District 11::::
Appearance
Rosemary was built for neither stealth nor speed. She's tall (5'11") and stands over most people in her district, and though she is thin (only 121 lbs), she can't hide to save her life. And her red, wildly tangled, waist length hair doesn't help either. And because her limbs are so long and gangly, she's rather clumsy. So even though she can run relatively quickly, she runs a chance of tripping over her own feet. She wasn't built for beauty, either. Few people find her tall, underweight, and practically curve-less frame appealing, and most find her pale blue-grey eyes, slightly sunken and probably her most expressive feature, unsettling.
She's somewhat strong, but not overly so for her size or age - it's just what comes of working in the fields. She can't bench press her own weight or anything like that-like she'd even know what that was. She wears simple clothes, whatever cheap things she can get her hands on, though she only ever wears skirts for Reapings. Personally, she hates them - they're impractical and hindering.
Personality
Rosemary loves nighttime, the dark, the shimmer of distant stars, the quiet broken only by the sound of crickets and other nocturnal creatures. Probably because that's how she is: dark, quiet, unfathomable, cold and unwelcoming but for the occasional pinprick of light. Upon first meeting her, you wouldn’t guess that at all, however. Around new people, Rosemary is happy, bright, cheerful, open, and charismatic. She shines as brightly as a full moon, lighting up the world around her. She makes friends easily and quickly, and seems to enjoy herself around her. But like a brightly shining star, she soon begins to burn herself out.
If you hang around Rosemary for a while, you start to forget why you were drawn to her in the first place. She transforms from the outgoing, bouncy, and somewhat dimwitted girl that first saw you and smiled into a girl whose eyes were downcast and whose brows were often pulled into a frown. She’s always thinking – or brooding – about something. She’s often depressed and depressive, and when she’s not, her temper flares quickly and easily. She’s not as talkative or open, but when she does talk, it means more. She still has her childish, carefree, cheerful moments, just not as often.
Some of her personality is just who she is – the depression, the anger, the ups and downs - even the eternally smiling outgoing girl people meet when they first meet her. And some of it – the closeness, the superficiality of many of her conversations, her preference for being alone – comes from too many broken friendships and promises, too many times she’s trusted someone only to be let down. And so she loves the nighttime – when all is quiet, and she’s the only one.
History
Rosemary was born to Willow and Evanth Myrtle in the year of the 44th Hunger Games. This was all well and good - her family wasn't in one of the smallest shacks in the district, and they'd been preparing for her birth for a while. They would, without too much trouble, be able to feed her, providing a major problem didn't occur with the fields. There was a problem, however. Instead of just one child, as they had expected, there were two. Rosemary had a twin sister, Myrrh. The situation changed immediately; there wasn't enough of anything to go around. Her (much) older brother, Basil, signed up for numerous tesserae which barely covered what they needed and often fell short.
Despite their troubles, both girls grew quickly, if not perfectly happily. The family's biggest worry was Myrrh. She was completely opposite Rosemary, and in dangerous ways. When Rosemary knew to be quiet, Myrrh was loud; where Rosemary was prudent, Myrrh threw caution to the wind. And though Rosemary was observant, Myrrh never noticed a thing unless it danced naked in front of her nose. So when a line of Peacekeepers came tromping down the street while they were playing... Well, suffice it to say that no amount of healing could even hope to fix her.
Since then, Rosemary and her family have gotten along no better or worse than any other. Her brother got married, and they visit every once and a while. Rosemary takes tesserae whenever she can. Every so often, she gets dragged in and whipped for stealing food from the fields, especially around harvest time. Most of the time, she gets away with it, since she takes little at a time. Otherwise, she keeps a low profile in school and in the district, doing her best to not stand out, to not attract attention. And she lives on, whether she likes it or not.

And that's a wrap! Sorry it took so long, I've been all over the place, and swamped with homework. Now, what do I do with this to get it out of here?
