Name: Oliver Neal
Gender: Male
Age: 23
District: District 9
Appearance: Quite tall, standing at 5’ 10”. He is long and lanky, not having much muscle or fat. His face is thin and pointed and his hair comes down to his shoulders. He is a blonde, but only has a few “blonde moments”. His eyes are a dark brown.
Personality: Oliver was a kind and gentle young man until the age of 16. Then he was shipped to the Capitol as a tribute in the Hunger Games. After somehow making it out alive, he was different. He became mad most of the time, he yelled at everyone who got in his way. After he was offered the job of training tributes, something sparked him back to life. He now is a happy guy, always making jokes and living happily.
History: Oliver was chosen to be the District 9 tribute when he was 16. It was no surprise, considering he had taken 4 units of tessare each year since he was twelve. His father was in a wheelchair, his mom was always taking care of dad, and his older brother was still recovering from being whipped after hunting outside the allowed area.
So he was shipped off, thrown into the arena, and witnessed the things that haunt him to this day. The bloodbath at the Cornucopia, the ensuing flight to a cave in the rocky cliff side, the agonizing thirst and hunger. Somehow he rationed what he had won at the Cornucopia and stayed alive in his camouflaged cave. At Day 8, he was discovered. He killed the girl that had stumbled upon his cave, and that image terrifies him more than any other.
Long story short, he survived long enough to win out. But those images stayed with him, and he became irritated, depressed and mad. This continued for three years, until the man who had trained him died. He was offered the job of training the tributes from District 9. He accepted, thinking maybe this would get the life back in him. He was right.
Training the male tribute, he was determined not to let whomever it was go through what he did. He worked to get the best stylists, sponsors and gifts year after year. But time and time again, he failed. District 9 lost both tributes all four years he’s coached them. Each year, he becomes more and more determined to win.
