Personality:
Not my picture, k? Simple as dat.
Austin has his sister's vivid blue eyes, one of the only traits that the pair of them share. Their eyes are, really, their mothers, and Austin resembles their mother's youthful days tenfold more than Emery does. Unlike Emery's fierce red hair, assumed to be her fathers, Austin's head dons a soft, thin mass of ashy brown locks. They fall in to his barely-tanned face, and cover his eyes often. He has generally soft features for a boy of eleven- chubby cheeks, a rounded chin, slightly prominent cheekbones. He has his sister's small, thin hands - another trait from their mother. He's often getting himself dirty somehow.
Austin's eleven, but he's about 4'9', and considered tall for his age. He has a gangly build, long limbs, and a thin body, the result of a high metabolism. His aunt and uncle make sure he gets proper nutrition. he has thin, wiry muscles and bony wrists. His skin is freckle-free, and the only blemishes on it are the scars he gathers accidentally. Those riddle his arms and legs, and are nearly always visible. He prefers t-shirts and shorts to anything fully covering.
Austin stays on the move, no matter how awkward moving can gt for the clumsy child. He likes to chase things that move, and always bends down to check out things on the ground. The length of his limbs can make him seem awkward and monkey-like in a way when he's crouched down. He has a habit of staring blankly at things, not even realizing he does it. His face goes placid, his mouth hangs open a small bit, and his eyes space out. The same look is the natural expression of his face, like he's lost in thought or something similar. He rarely smiles or displays emotion, but not out of coldness. It's his natural temperament.
Austin is the result of smething called Asperger Syndrome, a high-functioning developmental disorder in the autism spectrum. He's often considered peculiar by others due to his mannerisms and eccentricities that result from his disorder. He often finds himself wanting to know all there is about something, but he never purposely means to be obsessive over anything. He finds himself in conversation, but is often unwilling to change the topic to allow for the conversation to continue. He's stubborn, with a short temper and he has bad control of his anger. He likes to hit things.History:
He speaks in an eerily quiet monotone voice, and always avoids eye contact like it's the plague. It makes his feel uncomfortable. He rarely smiles, and is prone to having improper emotional rerponses to things. Outside of his family, the misalignment with how he should feel versus how he does feel are more common. He's only comfortable with select people, and very few of them are outside of his family. Even with family, eve contact will be averted. It's one way he feels more comfortable. Austin was troubles with communicating, often not responding to situations verblly and emotionally wrong. He also has a common habit of staring off in to space. In this instances, he's usually focusing on one object.
However, his Asperger Syndrome doesn't rule him. Like any human, he is himself rather than his disorder. Austin resonds well to beaches, which are his favorite place to be, and children. The majority of the people he wants to converse with are younger than him, it makes him more comfortable. He can generally handle crowds as well, as long as there aren't too many unfamiliar faces around. He loves to talk, to anyone who will listen, but often doesn't share interests with the people he wants to talk to.
Austin's highly excitable. The right high-pitched tone of voice is enough to capture his undivided attention, and he's always curious about new things. He likes to listen to people, but is prone to interrupting them. He doesn't realize the problem wth this behaviour. He's a very intelligent child, not a savant or anything, but quite smart indeed. Often times, he doesn't know how to properly communicate things, or he deosn't want to. He doesn't fully understand the Hunger Games, and his housefull of Games haters are reluctant to explain their biased view to him in case he repeats the negative views to the wrong person.
Austin Nathan Meeks was born on a early June morning to an always-drunk twenty-four year old named Anne-Marie Wellington. He was her second-born, to the man his mother had been seeing for a grand total of four months before he was made. Johnathan Meeks - the man he never met, and who's only relation was blood. He never met Mr. Meeks, and had mnimal interaction with his mother throughout his life. After her first child was taken away due to infant neglect, and she was drunk throughout most of her second pregnancy, Austin was handed ver to his Aunt, Catherine, and her husband, Johnathan Linton. They were also the caretakers of three and a half year old Emery.Codeword: odair
