Did I Ever Truly Care | {D1 Shore Family}

They don’t know any better. It’s not like they were told this wasn’t normal. Sure people can guess what’s going on but they all seemed pretty normal if you didn’t count the fact how antisocial the whole group seemed to be. Rose and Tiberius weren’t raised this way but they were brought up around similar ideas. Having missing their calling with the Games, they’ve chosen to dedicate their lives to raising a crop of future victors at any cost. Their formula is simple; raise careers, train them believing the Games is their only future, let them trust no one let alone each other, and make them do anything they can to please the Capitol. This translated into propaganda films telling the Shore children how wonderful it would be to participate in the Games and hand out the punishments not intended for their District but any tribute from One would be considered a hero.

Aside from that, they wanted them all to stay as far apart as possible. The children weren’t encouraged to play together or show affection. The only affection in the Shore household will be from the family and even that is saved for the ones like Emmy who are stronger and bolder than the rest. The requirement is three films in the day, one before each meal and then training in any free hours. (Because most are enrolled in professional academies, there is room for cheating) They are also expected to be free labor for parties and other events held in the wealthy family’s house. Several are adopted but I’m only giving ideas I came up with which is the timeline as of now but I’m open to any ideas. Please check the finished bios for any further information because I’m tired and I’ve had to write this twice.

Emmy- 18 – {Nofo} Imogen Poots fc
She’s very withdrawn but exceedingly talented in training. She’s pretty much the golden child and takes most of the attention. Emmy kind of takes control over the children but slips into the shadows when she can. She’s introverted and lets things play out by themselves if she can. If it’s a major event, she’s the one planning it. She’s the biggest success so far for her parents and they are hoping she’ll be a tribute and victor soon.

Lapis - 18 - {South}
More relaxed and care-free than the others. She's wild and parties nearly every night and gets away with it because she actually is a talented career. She doesn't really believe in the films or find them very ethical. She does a lot of drugs and is often confused for a street-rat. Kind of disobedient and hardly does anything she's told. Lapis is a lot of fun but hard to handle.

Phena - 17 – {Nofo} Dianna Agron fc
Baby doesn’t even care anymore. She’s ready and she’s way too arrogant for her own good. She’s convinced she’s prepared for the Games and she’s so much more girly than any of her other siblings. She doesn’t train very often and her parents wouldn’t care if she stopped altogether but she’s sure she’s ready. She kind of doesn’t get the attention she wants so she gossips around regular school. Phena is probably the most stereotypical career girl, but she’s taken it to an extreme all by itself. She’s arrogant, kind of pretty, and not at all self-aware.

Pyrite – 17 –{Zoe} _____ fc
She’s kind of mean and doesn’t really seem like the nicest girl on Earth. She puts people off because she’s intimidating and strong. Really hot headed, like for real, her temper is awful and she’s ace with insults. She’s very crude and doesn’t really apologize for it. Pyrite’s not very feminine and is an excellent career, though no one would say she’s as dedicated as Emerald but it’s close. Pyrite is kind of bitchy and her fighting kind of scares people away. She teaches lessons to the younger careers in her family in the evenings. She stays away from her siblings apart from quick orders and words. She’s not the generous type and doesn’t hold a sweet spot for anyone.

Aragonite – 16 – {Elegant}
He doesn’t like confrontation in the slightest. Some of the others haven’t caught onto that yet. He’s a beta male and is the sweetest of them all. He doesn’t want to be in the Games but probably wouldn’t let anyone take his place. He’s a capable career and is very talented with a throwing knife. He has a lot of aggression held in because he’s so submissive and it’s kind of scaring the others because they’ve seen his aim and it wouldn't be very fun to go against that.

Aventurine - 16 - {Belle}
Well, she's a little creepy. She's very perky and charismatic but her too-wide smile is just a little off. Her optimism is very weird for her family and she rarely makes a lot of sense. Aventurine is obsessive and people from before the Dark Days would call her very Stepfordish. She always speaks the same way and tends to reuse entire sentences in conversations. Impressionable and tidy, whoever applies for her please try to make her a little less one-dimensional cause this is just an idea. Adopted.

Opal - 16 - {Cass}
Well, she's certainly an odd one. Not much is known about her birth-parents but if she's anything like them, they weren't the most stable people. Dreamy and too attracted to the garden, she's a career but the lessons float over her head. She's a talented dancer and gymnast but she's not formally trained in these areas. She lives in a separate world inside her head with her active imagination and fondness for pretty things. She's very earthy and she has a green-thumb.

Niobium – 15 – {Nofo}
Niobium is the weakling of the family. She’s not forced to train anymore because she’s too stubborn and not good enough to bother. Her parents kind of forgot about her and have long-since stopped forcing her into training. She’s taken up knitting and enjoys it in her study. Niobium likes to stay secluded away from her siblings and is very shy around people. She’s considered the mistrial of the family and doesn’t share most of the ideas of her family.

Witherite – 15 – {Piper}
He’s ruthless and doesn’t care about boundaries. He’s very sadistic and loves playing with emotions and slowly torturing them physically. He’s unstable and villainous. He doesn’t show remorse for anything and only really cares about his parents. He’s loud and tends to blow up in confrontations. He’s been caught holding knives to Niobium’s throat, cutting several of his sisters’ hair in their sleep and attempting to kill his trainer in training.

Beryl – 14 – {Lei}
Beryl is probably the smartest of the Shore children. He's easily one of the weaker careers but he's manipulative and strategic. He knows how to get what he wants and is prepared to take it. He's good looking and loves the idea of hustling for the thrill. He can take care of himself and is a little independent. He's not a bad guy, but he's tempted and has very loose morals.

Morganite – 14 – {Dars}
He’s very dramatic and has always been kind of a diva. He’s upset that he was named after a pink mineral and tends to see himself as stronger than he is. He craves attention and does anything he can to get it and he tries as hard as he can to be a decent career. He’s not that strong but he’s pretty bitchy and easily pisses everyone off.

Aquamarine – 13 – {Danny}
Aquamarine is very shallow and prissy. Trains much more than Phena and still likes to act very girly. She’s strong enough but she’s often ignored by her siblings. She’s a hard training girl and enjoys it genuinely but she’s yet to prove herself as anything but an annoying kid and she’s trying as hard as she can. She’s a little too preoccupied with her nails and hair, but she makes a genuine effort.

Jasper – 5 – {NPC}
I can’t not include him because of how important he is to another future plot and because of this, he has to be an NPC. Basically, in a few months, he’s going to go missing and while he’s not that missed in his own family because of reasons, another closer family on the street (any guesses as to who that is? Hint, their last name starts with an L) decides to commandeer the search party. He’s bubbly and pretty much sweet to everyone. So far, he’s not showing any signs of being affected by the tapes.

At this point I’m kind of done coming up with ideas for you but I’m sure I can make some of the adopted siblings if asked, but I’m sure you guys can come up with fun ideas on your own and I’d like to see them. Also, make sure to realize that these are all brainstorming sessions so if you're unclear about why something happened, come up with a reasoning. Change something if it doesn't make sense, but keep true to the character I described, please?
