Name: Delia Neptune
Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 6
Appearance:
The most beautiful part of Delia is the part least seen, her smile. For someone that was rarely happy, to have such an emotion is usually so powerful it radiates to everyone around her. It lightens Delia’s face, brightens her already crystal blue eyes, and always made her cheeks rose red. Black as night hair graced down her back looking like silk that contrasted perfectly with her pale white skin. Her light eyes were always glued to the floor to seem to be staring at her glossy pink lips.Personality:
Being apart of one of the better-off families, Delia and her siblings never went to bed starving, making Delia not the skinniest of the district. Being well filled in did bring low self-confidence to the silent girl who never reached over 110 pounds being only 5’2, but still looking into the mirror she saw someone much bigger. It didn’t help that no one had interest in talking to a teen that could hardly get out a whole sentence, Delia was just considered crazy and weird. Luckily Delia didn’t care for anyone outside the family, which explained her fashion choices of any clothing she could get. Then again Delia was always too kind to not wear something given to her, even if it didn’t suit her appearance that well. It didn’t matter.
The spot at the cash register was where new people always found Delia. Kids in school already understood not to approach her, calling her crazy and other mean names. Strangers were always the worst because they never understood Delia who couldn’t bring herself around to explaining. That was why she was always given the shift in the bakery rarely anyone came in, and even still there was another sibling working somewhere in the back just in case. At first the customer would see a normal looking teen enjoying a book to fill her boring time at work.History:
They would approach with a question or order, and smile to get in return scared blue-eyes followed by red cheeks, before Delia would run away to find someone else to help them. It was one of two thoughts; there was something wrong with that girl, or something wrong with them. Either way it was no way to make friends, or sell pasties for that matter. If only she held talent like the other siblings, where Delia could cook or lift heavy things. But instead Delia had to keep watch during empty hours, to be embarrassed when someone actually came in. If only someone would take time to attempt to understand her.
Despite Delia’s inability to communicate well, she still held a very sweet heart that rarely anyone knew about. It was difficult to know someone that didn’t share anything. The only clue would be Delia’s constant yes when it came to helping someone, or doing a favor. It wasn’t weakness but a choice to be so kind and quiet. Always sticking around her siblings, it looked like Delia was weak and needed protection, but the truth was she wanted to keep her family safe.
Everything was normal from the beginning with Delia’s family. They were well off with owning a popular bakery, and were producing happy, healthy babies. With two older siblings the parents were well informed on the stages in a child’s life, along with the range they usually met certain landmarks. When Delia’s twin brother Hunter started talking up a storm, Delia stayed quiet. Figuring she would catch up eventually it didn’t faze the parents because her social skills seemed fine; it was as if their baby girl was switched at birth with an avoxe infant. The twins first day of school was the day Delia began worrying everyone; she was deathly shy and kept her distances from everyone.Codeword: odair
The doctor visits became more and more frequent, all baffled by the mute small girl. Delia simply refused to talk or interact with anyone outside of her family. Mentally ill? That’s what most figured with only mumbles and screams ever exiting the young girl. Shortly the stories began with constant customers entering the store to eventually question the mute daughter. Once a peacekeeper even knocked on the door and demanded to take in the quiet five-year old. It was certainly scary for the small girl to have her tongue poked and prodded, claiming to be a fake. That was why Delia never did grow out of her fear of strangers, continuing to stay shy to anyone not involved in her family. Still not even her closest siblings could pull a word from her lips.
It was Delia’s first reaping that she said, well screamed, her first word. “No.” Refusal to go, the worst place for such a person as Delia, with a giant crowd filled with unhappy people, where two people were called to fight to the death. Still she was forced into a fluffy dress and dragged off to the town center. Five years later and Delia is unable to get out more then a few words with out becoming flustered to the point she scurries away like a sad dog with it’s tail between it’s legs and head to the floor. Even with the family members that understand her, Delia can’t help but distances herself from the world.
