Name:Belle Hermia Germaine
Age: 14
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 1
Appearance:
Belle, true to her name, is what many people describe as beautiful. Her hair is a natural shade of golden blonde, falling down to a reasonable length to her shoulder blades in a straight and smooth sheen. Her eyes are a clear, crystal shade of blue that appear hardened. Often, Belle's eyes seem cold and calculating. Her nose is slightly larger than what she would prefer, and often she'll say that's the one thing she wishes she could change about her profile. Her pale pallor and freckle-free face often tend to stand out in a crowd.
Belle is not the tallest girl, but she never let's her height get in her way. Standing at 5'2", and weighing 120 pounds Belle has a petite and slender frame. Often, Belle will switch between skirts and pants, so long as whatever she's wearing is easy to move in. The shirts she wears are modest, and often long sleeved. If there aren't sleeves, Belle wears a glove that reaches her elbow to hide a burn mark she had gotten when she was a young girl. The burn is a hideous dark red color that covers a lot of skin from Belle's left wrist to just below her left elbow.
Personality:
Belle Germaine is what some may describe as beautiful, yet manipulative. She comes across as manipulative, distant, and sometimes even cold to people who she isn't close to. And in her case, that would be nearly everyone Belle knows. She has a select group of people she chooses to be around that has traits she both admires and finds interesting. Personally, she values beauty over both brains and strength. She reads people easily, manipulating and using them to get what she wants. Belle has the brains to become smartest in her class, and the ability to become the best career in training, but she shuts these parts off unless completely necessary to her survival.
Despite her personality and trust problems, Belle wishes she could have a close friend to tell everything to. She wants someone to talk to late at night, to be there for. A best friend. A sibling. Anyone. But, she doesn't make friends easily. She has a hard time trusting people and letting herself get close to other people. As a result, she tries to distance herself from situations and people she may grow attached to. She may speak to you, but until you prove your loyalty to her, until you prove you are trustworthy, Belle won't truly open up to you. She's too afraid that you may take everything you have learned about her, and use it against her. That you'll take the trust and feelings she's bestowed to you and just throw them back in her face. This fear is what keeps her from opening up to others, and makes it hard for her to trust. She needs someone who's patient, kind, understanding, and basically everything she isn't to be there for her.
If you aren't the kind of person Belle respects, she'll still put up with you. Granted, she will use small opportunities to make sure you know she finds you annoying or dislikes you. If you manage to finally make her snap, be warned. Belle is good with words and people. She will use this to her advantage, and is not afraid to give you a sharp wake up call with her words. Because of her sometimes judgmental habits, she often makes enemies out of the people who have driven her over the edge and she just can't deal with. She won't back down from a fight, and when faced with the idea of a new adventure Belle hardly ever backs down. She tends to get herself into predicaments that are sometimes better avoided, but Belle can usually talk her way out of situations. The ones she can't talk herself out of, she uses her family's money instead.
History:
Belle was adopted at a young age. A very young age actually. The Germaines, Ansel and Lidia Germaine, tried multiple times to have a child of their own, but a doctor soon told them that Lidia was incapable of having children. Ansel, determined to have a child that would carry on his family's legacy, immediately decided to adopt a child that would share both his and his wife's traits. That way, no one would question whether or not their child was really theirs. The two bought Belle off of a local family, and sent the family away. That way, no one would know Belle wasn't born as a Germaine.
Ansel always made sure to spoil Belle, giving the small child everything she asked for. However, the endless toys and things he showered Belle with came at a process. At four years old, Ansel put a wooden sword in the small girl's hands and told her she would someday become a victor of the Hunger Games, earning herself and their family a huge honor. Belle trained hard to make her father proud, but never truly realized the dangers until she was around seven years old.
Ansel had tried to teach Belle how to make fire in their back yard. The seven year old was having fun making the sparks, watching as the small flames she would make would slowly eat up the stick she was holding until it burned out just so she could make another flame like the first. Ansel soon grew pleased with her work, and tried to teach her to be nimble on her feet around fire. The result was Belle falling next to the small bundle of sticks she had set on fire earlier. At the time, it had burned her entire forearm. Now, it still remains as a burn making sure she will never forget the night she became afraid of the flames that could hurt so badly. That was when she started to hate the Hunger Games, the reason for all of her future beatings that never left scars, only temporary bruises, and to realize what they really are. A way to murder young people for the Capitol's amusement.
Ansel blamed Belle for the accident and proceeded to beat her as Lidia watched silently from her comfortable spot on the couch. After that accident, Belle never trusted her foster parents again. She refused to call them mom or dad, and lost all respect she had ever built up for them over her short life. Belle was scarred physically, emotionally, and mentally by those she trusted and she depended on. Because of this, she stopped trusting people in general, constantly afraid that they'd betray her and hurt her. At seven years old, Belle started to change from a happy and care free little girl to what would someday be a detached and cold teenager.
After the accident, Belle found she could only use her daggers in her left hand since they weren't as heavy as a two handed weapon or a throwing weapon. She still learned how to use other weapons that she may find in the arena, but only to the average career standards. Her choice weapon will always be a dagger and knives she can conceal, use, and throw. Eventually, Belle was able to build up the strength in her burned arm, and now the burn is just a dark reminder. She is still forced by Ansel attend the arenas and other areas with the other career children, and Belle goes along with it. She begrudgingly learns the steps, strategies that might help, and whatever else is required. After all, there is still the possibility she may be chosen, even though Belle hopes that she is never forced to take a step in the place where her life rests in the hands of strangers for entertainment.

Belle's name was chosen for her for a reason. Each of her names have a meaning that describe her in a way.
Belle- The name means beauty, and the Germaines had hopped for that in the small baby they had bought. They got what they wanted thankfully. Otherwise, they may not have kept Belle.
Hermia- This name means of the Earth. It seems to fit Belle's mysterious past surrounding her birth parents. Since she never knew them, she often tends to laugh at herself when she thinks of who they could be saying she is a child "of the Earth" with no real family.
Germaine- The name Germaine means armed. It means ready for battle, which is often what happens in the arena. It's a family that has been around for a long time, with many important people and figures.
