Brooklyn Oliver Phillips, District 2

Brooklyn Oliver Phillips, better known as Ollie or Oliver, never obsesses about her beauty, even though she has it. Her chesnut colored hair is always curled naturally, creating soft ringlets. Her hair shines bright when the sun hits it, creating the illusion of burning red color, even though her hair is much more muted than that. Her eyes are a bright green, which looks more blue when exposed to brighter lights. They are evenly spaced, and almond shaped.

She has a splash of dark freckles across her cheekbones, but they are almost invisible because of her already tan skin. Her profile is perfect, her face is the picture of what a beautiful teenage girl should be, and she is always commented on by passersby. Her lips are full, but not too full, and slightly chapped. Her nose is dusted with a few freckles. Her cheeks have a natural pink blush.

Her legs are long and thin, but still strong. Her left arm is evenly tanned along with the rest of her body, but her right arm is permanently scarred. A thick zigzag line starts from her shoulder and stretches down to her thumb and second fingertips. The scar is red and swollen, with bruises all along the outside of it, and for this reason she always wears long sleeved shirts. She will wear shorts, but no short sleeved shirts, except for training, occasionally, often with a long sleeved jacket over it. She always wears sandals except for training.

Brooklyn is often shows her tough side, but at first sight she is always mistaken for either sweet or snooty because of her looks. They think because she is beautiful, she will brag about it. But she always laughs and just shows them the scar, saying that she has problems to live with too. She learned to control her emotions at an early age, so that no one could see when she's sad especially. She learned to use the Training Center to make sure her emotions didn't come through, by fighting with knives and spears to channel her anger. The fierceness of her fighting astonishes some people, and when asked about it, she just replies bitterly, "I have lot to fight for, and a lot to fight about. It's how I survive."

She is often asked by jealous people how many boyfriends she's had. She smiles and responds, "None." They always think that she's lying, but it's true. She has never had a boyfriend. She has never had a lover. She prefers family and fighting to a relationship.

Because of her spread out family, she almost never connects with her mom and dad, making her feel uncomfortable around all adults. She is very flirty, and most guys are attracted to her, but she will either break their heart by saying no to a first date, or when they try to talk to her ignore them. She most of the time won't talk to boys for her flirtation, and sometimes she doesn't mean to flirt. But a compliment on someone's fighting style or weapon holding will go a long way. She tries to ignore boys sometimes too, but they hound her and keep pushing at her for a first date.

Brooklyn was born to a fresh gambler and a die hard Career Trainer mother. She learned the Career ways early, following in her mother's footsteps. She often thinks that she is alone, becasue she often is alone, with no family or friends to guide her in the right direction. So she focuses on training, putting her loneliness and frustration at everything into her fighting. she tries to please her mother, and the only reason is becasue she doesn't want to be a failing tribute in her mother's eyes.

Her mother and father are still alive, but she never sees them. Her father became a Peacekeeper to remove the debt that he had from gambling. Her mother became the Head Trainer in the Training Center, and because it's open almost full time. She never had any siblings, so her family almost always had enough money, but when her father started gambling, they lost a ton, becasue he would gamble away all of the money he would earn. When he was sent away to a different district, they lost the second flow of money (even though it really wasn't there to begin with). So her mom works full time at the Training Center.

How did she get the scar? That's what you're probably asking. Well, it wasn't her fault. It was her dad's. Her dad had come home one day, from a bad day of gambling. He had lost all of his money, and to get over it, he had grabbed some drinks with his gambling buddies. He had come home drunk and in a rather bad mood, and he had taken it out on his daughter. He grabbed a knife from the kitchen, and sliced it along his daughters arm, screaming obscenities and yelling at her that she was a disgrace. She screamed. The Peacekeepers barged in the front door, carrying out her father, who was taken to jail. She was immediately sent to the local hospital, and just managed to pull through, losing a lot of blood and causing the arm to be paler than the rest of her body slightly. From then on, she was cursed with a reminder of that awful day.
