Arch Sheltear D4

Arch Sheltear is a young sixteen year old girl from District Four. She was born a natural blonde, but thanks to her father and his money she was able to dye it a light fiery red. It reaches down to her shoulder blades and she allows it to cover her left eye at times. Her light green eyes have darker green flecks that are not that detectible from most distances. She keeps her eyebrows thin for appearance. She has a thin small nose and below that is revealed a pair of thin lips that seem to disappear when she gets mad and she presses them together. She hates her tiny ears and tries to hide them whenever she can with her hair. She has no distinct markings on her face.

She has a muscled torso thanks to her gymnastics. She tries to keep fit but she doesn’t train like the Careers do. She’s not very gifted in the chest area but she doesn’t care. Her arms are lean and are a little longer than normal. Despite her gymnastics she still has delicate and smooth hands. Her legs are also well muscled and help her reach her height of five feet, 8 inches. Unlike her hands she does have somewhat large feet, which is another flaw she has issues with. They are size 11. She has a small birthmark on the back of her right upper thigh that’s shaped like a deformed five-point star.

Arch loves her wardrobe. Being one of the more rich girls in town she has access to some of the fancier clothes. She loves to wear dresses, even in day to day work situation. The sad fact is she only has four and is forced to wear other things. She hates to wear earrings and rings, but she loves necklaces. She prefers to wear sandals even in the colder weather. When she doesn’t wear a dress you can see her wearing tight pants and some bright colored top. She is rarely seen with her hair up.

Arch is what you call a complex person, depending on her surroundings her behavior changes. While alone Arch is lonely in an emotional and physical sense. She entertains herself by reading any book her father could find for her or practicing her gymnastics. She has a secret collection of “dolls” that she has created from things she has collected. She talks to them whenever she feels sad or troubled. She is rarely alone though.

When alone with her best friend, Breventide, she loves to laugh and be open. Her favorite activity is watch clouds together. She loves to talk with Breventide about everything from school to work. She has complete faith and trust in Breventide and loves to be around her.

In the times when she isn’t with Breventide and not alones she changes utterly. She has no patience with most people and can be quite bossy and rude. Be prepared to get chewed out if you even mention her ears or feet. She can be pretty heartless, unless it comes to children. Arch has a large sympathy for anyone younger than her especially those who have just become of age to enter the reaping. She does respect authority and is well behaved in their presence.

In the year of the 46th Hunger Games, Julius Sheltear and Martha Sheltear gave birth to a baby girl and named her Arch. Julius is the owner of a popular restaurant and is one of the wealthier men in town. Martha works in the restaurant for her husband. Arch was well taken care of during her childhood. When she turned seven she began gymnastics training. Never once has she wanted to be a Career, she only did it for her own personal health and enjoyment and on the chance that she might get picked she would have something going for her. She is an average student and does well in most of her classes.

When she turned thirteen she grew bossy and more demanding. Lots of kids avoided her because she was so unfriendly, but one girl decided to visit Arch one day. As Arch comes to the door the girl smiles and walks away. This confuses Arch and she chases after her. She catches up to her on the beach where Breventide introduces herself and asks if she wants to watch the clouds with her. Arch immediately accepts and they easily became friends.

When Arch turned fourteen her mother fell ill. With no real medicine or doctors it as unknown if she would make it. Arch hardly left her side. Her studies began to falter and she rarely visited Breventide, but this was not a sad end. Martha recovered but is left weak from her illness. Arch helps her mother in any way she can. When she turned sixteen her father asks her to work in his restaurant as a waitress. She accepts, and earns side money to buy dresses.
