Breventide Paramyst D4

Breventide is an oddball in her district. She has dark brown hair, which can be attributed to her mother’s district 12 roots, that is desperately straight and falls around her mid back. Her family’s money has allowed her to experiment with her hair color, but she always falls back to her natural brown. Her eyes are a sapphire shade that doesn’t fit in with her neighbors or her family. There is a yellow sunburst in the center of her eyes, making them appear even brighter on her heart-shaped face. Her ears are slightly large on her tiny frame, but she manages to hide them with her thick, flowing hair. Her lips are plump and her nose is fitting for her. Even though she spends so much time in the sun, she only obtains a simple glow, much to her chagrin.

She stands at 5’2”, somewhat short compared to her peers. Although she wishes she were taller, she accepts her height and thinks of it as an advantage. She is a contemporary dancer as a release for her emotions, giving her nicely toned legs. Her arms are also muscular, stemming from work hauling in nets of fish weighing over half as much as her 126 pounds. Despite being muscular, she doesn’t train like some from her district do. She prefers to wear dresses and other flirty clothes to show off her body. She often wears a necklace with the words ever after that she finds inspirational. Her best friend, Arch, gave her a friendship bracelet of purple beads, her favorite color. Her look intrigues those around her, often allowing her to make new friends.

Breventide is charismatic, which makes her well liked. She attracts friends easily, but spends most time not busy with Arch. They spend most time laughing, having jokes for most situations. Despite her joking demeanor, nothing will help her to face the pain of her mother’s death like contemporary dance. Her dances allow her to express the emotions before they boil over. These pieces have won her awards in talent shows and other events.

Her determination has helped her stay strong through the difficult things that have taken place in her life. Even after her mother’s death, she took on her mother’s job as a deck hand, understanding there were people who needed the haul. Unfortunately, her determination could also be a vice. She is very strong-willed and will stand by her answers, even when she knows she’s wrong. She enjoys arguing with her friends because the banter is exciting to her.

The people in town know her to be cunning with an eye for the future. She can analyze a situation and it’s outcomes before making a decision. Not only is she cunning, but fierce as well. She fights to reach her goals when there is something in her way. She doesn’t have a knack for school, but her common sense makes up for it. She is the first person many go to when they face a life-changing decision. She is known to comfort those who reach out to her.

It was 16 years ago on June 6 that Breventide Paramyst was born. Her mother, Oakleigh, originally from District 12, was in love with the ocean, imagining it when she named her daughter. Breventide was born into a wealthy family, her grandfather being a former mayor in District 12. His power allowed her mother to travel to 4 while he was on business, where she met Jasper, a local restaurant owner. Soon after, they were wed and had a child on the way. That child was Breventide, the only child her mother had before her untimely death at sea.

Her father raised her alone starting when she was 6. Breventide became very closed off for a few years, only finding happiness in her dance. Her father worried about her so he started taking her out to the ocean to fish at age 9. It was there that she found something that could build her strength physically and emotionally. She began splitting her time between dance and fishing and school, struggling to find a balance to suit her.

At 13, she had built her confidence and decided to go the home of the rival of her father. There she met Arch, and they were soon inseparable. It was through that new friend that she learned to laugh again and be friendlier. She started to see that being so closed off would never get her anywhere. She never learned to reach out to others, but she embraced the relationships that formed. Through those recent years, she has grown more strong-willed. She will argue with her best friend about everything and nothing all at once. Although her style is suggestive, she has never had a real boyfriend, only some guys that have gotten a little closer than others. She is too busy working, dancing, or being with Arch to make room for anything else.
