Claire Woods : District 4

Claire is slim and about 5'6", with a curvy figure. She's tanned. Her almond eyes are a sharp sea-green. She has natural, sleek red hair, a small, pointy nose, and full red lips, with brown freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her ears are pierced and normally holds tiny metal studs.

Claire has a tiny flower-shaped birthmark on her ankle, and another on her right upper neck, which is in the shape of a crescent. She is skinny but muscular, due to fishing. Her hair is lighter and sun-bleached during the summer season and darker in the winter.

She wears tank tops and cotton shorts over her breathable swimsuit, which is for fishing, in the summer, along with sandals. In the winter, she has a warm waterproof coat and a wetsuit, with warm cotton and wool garments.

Claire is quiet most of the time, but will stand up for her friends if needs be. She's brave, strong and tries to be good. But she has a big flaw-her hot temper, which comes out rarely, but when it does, it often involves and brews up plenty of trouble.

At school, she is popular, especially with boys, as her red hair is darker and sleeker than most of the others in District 4, and is something of interest. She is quiet and bright, though, and pays attention in class.

Claire is a skilled fisher. She is adept at weaving nets and has mastered trident and spear fishing, and she can also catch with her bare hands if she has to. In the winter, though, as she is underage, she is not required to fish, but to collect shellfish, which she is not very good at remembering the types (of shellfish).

Claire was born on the hottest day of summer. As a young child, she was extremely lucky. Her parents were one of the more well-off ones. She was a pretty baby, and her childhood was happy and carefree. She would build reed boats and ride them on the pond next to her bungalow, with her younger twin brother, Matthew Woods.

When she was six, she began to go to school. At eight, she began to learn fishing from her father. She learn fast, and was one of the most admired children.

When she was nine, tragedy struck the simple household. There were four children, Lucas, the eldest, who was fourteen, Claire, Matthew, then Dawn, who was six. Lucas fell ill in the coldest days of winter, and slowly passed away. The family was swept into mourning. Claire realized anything could happen, and that life was short. She took over as the eldest child, and looked after her siblings fiercely. She had to look after her mother as well in the first few months after Lucas died.

She currently lives a simple life, nearly at her third reaping, and praying that she will not get picked.
