Name: Ran Murel (Rannie)
Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Ran isn't someone who stands out in a crowd, well except for the fact she towers over the other girls in District 4. She stands at 5 foot 10 inches talls and has the swimmers build to carry herself without slouching making her appear even more imposing. Her red hair is long and streaked with natural highlights from the sun from the hours she spends on the shore training for the games. She often pulls it back in a sloppy top knot on the crown of her head. Frequently she thinks about cutting it off to avoid the potential trap it would be if she were selected as a tribute.Personality:
Her brows are pale and bushy. While her hazel eyes detract from her rather broad nose and her somewhat large teeth. They're not bucked or ragged, but her teeth do look too big for her mouth. Her lips are naturally flushed and always slightly chapped from the salty air. Freckles speckle most of her visable skin. Most often she's seen wearing a fitted tissue like teeshirt and worn bermuda shorts. Her toes are never hidden as she always has flip flops on. Her hands are callused on the palms from the years of swinging a sword in the training center, but the nails are short, square, and trimmed. The fingers on one hand are stained with ink from doing her family bookkeeping.
Rannie was obnoxious, there was no other way to discribe her. She was an only child who's parents gave in to her every whim. She felt she deserved the world and the only way to get it was to be in the Games. For the past 5 years she wasn't called and this coming games was her last one she was eligable for. She hated that she wasn't "good enough" to entertain the Capital. She wasn't a bully but could pull it off if she needed. She did have a few friends that her parents approved of. The majority of her friends were a few years older and looked at her as their ticket to a good time. After her training sessions and school she could be found relaxing on the beach, acting like she hasn't a care in the world. She never wanted for anything in her life, except a chance to become a victor.History:
The kids at school weren't sure how to take her. The "Careers" loved her drive and at school you could find her in their clique. She was a daddy's girl though and if her dad didn't like you or your parents she could cut you out of her life without batting an eye. She never liked to be viewed as lowly or unkempt, and associating with "those" people wasn't her idea of a good time. She wasn't afraid to point out if you'd worn the same outfit to school, smelled, or just plain looked funny.
She wasn't sure if love was something she could handle. She saw her parents and knew eventually she wanted something like that, and to be honest some of the peace keepers had piqued her intrest. But she felt that her towering frame was keeping guys away (all the smaller girls seemed to find love so quickly!). One day though she'd find someone worth her time. Until then, train, train, and train some more.
Ran's parents were boat owners and had a small fleet they rented out to fisherman for a monthly fee. She was born to them when they were later in their life, her mom was 37 when she gave birth and her father was 40. They had saved up and had a nice lifestyle for their district and knew that they could provide for their child. Even though their daughter saw the working class, she would never have to be it. As a young child Rannie would help her father do small repairs on the boat and he noticed how agile she was with a blade. At the age of 8 she was enrolled in the Training Center and given a private tutor. By the age of 12 she was dueling with kids several years her elder. She had a smart aleck mouth that came from never being told no and was prone to throwing fits if things didn't go her way. Often resorting to "I'll tell my daddy!". In school most of the kids didn't understand her drive to be one of the chose few, so she withdrew into her training and rolled her eyes when she heard of those who didn't believe in the Capital. One day she would live there. One day she would be on top.Codeword: ODair
Her day to day duties included running the books for her family, making sure the boat renters paid on time, and they paid full amount. If they were behind a simple visit to the home with a visable smirk and blade often remidied the situation quickly. Even at 14 people knew she wasn't someone to mess with. After bookkeeping she would spend time by the water, the sand was a great tool to help train with balance and running. It was also great for long swims. She hated the water at first when her mother thought teach her to swim ment pushing her off a boat. Now though she was decent at it, and it was a great way to unwind.
Rannie was greatful for her life. She knew she had it better than a lot of people, but it was never good enough for her. She wanted more, she saw the fancy things on the Capital and envied them. Her perfect life she thought, would be Victor of the next Hunger Games, a wedding to a well off peacekeeper, and spending the rest of her life enjoying her spoils. For now though, she just needed to keep her eye on the prize.

I'm hoping this is good enough, I'm still trying to flesh her out a bit.
