Raviv Gardez- D4 [*finished]

Raviv is looks a lot like his dead older brother. Except his features are a bit lighter, he is closest to his youngest sister as far as coloring goes. He has light, golden brown hair of a medium length. Raviv's eyes are blue with a hint of green in them, they are very expressive, and have the same haunting quality that all his siblings have. It must run in the family. He is only twelve years old so he only stands at about 4' 11", and weighs about 95lb. Going fishing and helping out in the family business has kept him fit and trim. Broad shoulders, and good muscling, Raviv is a sturdy boy who stands up to the hard work. Although he is very strong for someone his age, he still has to depend on his older sister for help with most projects. Living in District Four, he was always had enough to eat, and glows in good health. His face always seems to be lit by a beautiful smile, or a twinkle in his young eyes. Being pretty darn good looking even at his young age, he's always attracted the attention of the girls his age. But he's completely oblivious to them, there are a lot of other things that interest than twelve year old more than girls. Family and close friends always come first. Raviv doesn't focuse much on his appearance but always looks well taken care of and to in a great mood.

Raviv is very devoted and loyal to family and close friends. He's the kind of kid that will stick by your side no matter what happens. He accepts things and people as they are, and won't place judgment on someone until he thinks he has a decent idea of who they are. Although like most, he does have gut feelings about certain people. Aspiring and motivated he happily helps his family with there business and often goes fishing to try and bring home extra food, even though he hasn't quite got it down as well as his two older siblings. Raviv can keep a secret, if there is something he doesn't want you to know, it will stay completely locked up inside his head. Kind and caring, he is always sincere and will try to help someone, or be a shoulder to cry on when the opportunity presents itself. Being pretty flexible has been a key trait for him as his family life has changed great amounts since his brother's death, and his older sister's spiral downward. Courageous is another word used to describe this boy. He does his best to be brave and push forward even when frightened or unsure. He takes careful time when making decisions and won't rush into things. He can be stubborn though, and once he makes up his mind good like trying to get him to budge on something. He insists on doing what he thinks is right and isn't swayed by the people around him. Raviv is enthusiastic, almost overly so. He greets each day with vigor and embraces life everyday. Something he learned to value when Raiden was killed. Unlike his older sister he has faith in life and tries to always find the good side of things, instead of focusing on the negative.
Also he is friendly and grateful for what he has. Raviv isn't one to envy others, be happy for what you've got because it could all be gone one day. He is a terrible liar, and hates lying, period. Raviv will always tell the truth even when something is his fault. Involved in each member of his family's lives, he tries to take extra care to check on everyone at least once a day. He was only eight years old when his brother died, but the lose was still devastating and taught him to never take for granted the people you love and care about. As they could be gone in a flash as well. Never leave a conversation on a bad note, it could be the last time you talk to that person. All the turmoil in his life has helped to shape Raviv into a mature, responsible boy. Clear of thought and good of heart, Raviv is a hard person to dislike. He is practical and will make the most out of anything that comes his way. You seem to have to tell him to get up and do something, Raviv is self-directed and self-disciplined. Being very sympathetic you can tell Raviv anything and you can bet on him trying to ease the pain or cheer you up. Watching others suffer is one of the things he hates the most. That's why the Hunger Games have always disgusted him. If you didn't die, you were changed, damaged for life. Raviv has a unique willingness for work and life in general that makes him appear like the sunshine, even when clouds are gray.

With his older brother dead, Raviv is the middle child, in between his two sisters. His older sister, Naida, and his younger sister, Ilayda. Raviv could remember living happily with all four of them, and their parents. He is six years younger than his brother, three years younger than his sister Naida, and three years older than his other sister, Ilayda. For as long as he can remember his family has been running a small fish shop that he's been helping out with from the time he was a toddler. He always looked up to Raiden, his older brother would teach he ways to fish, answer any of his questions, and take the four of them out for a swim after a long day of work. Ilayda was still so tiny that Raiden would hold her and gently help the little on stay afloat. Those were the happiest years of Raviv's life.

Things all came crashing down when he was eight years old. His older brother was fifteen years old. And it was reaping day. Naida the second oldest was still safe, she was only eleven. No one expected Raiden to get reaped, District Four is full of people, and he's never taken any tessera. But when they called the boy tribute's name that year it was, 'Raiden Gardez.' The next thing Raviv knew was his parents, and Ilayda were crying. But the most heartbreaking thing was Naida. As Raiden tried to walk up to the strange, she clung to him, in absolute hysteria. Her finger nails actually drew blood from Raiden's arm she clung so hard. The Peacekeepers didn't like that, and they ripped her off of Raiden and handed her to their father to try and restrain the wild girl from making a mess at their precious weapon. That was the day their family was broken. Raiden was taken away for the games, and Naida was so traumatized by her brother leaving, that something changed in her. That day was the start of the hell that was to ensue.

Watching the games Raiden was in was awful. Seeing his brother have to fight for his life on live TV. His brother teamed up with his District partner and no one else, he was smart, and didn't trust the other careers. Then on the final days of those Games. It was Raiden against a boy from District Two. The fight was close, but Raiden had a spear, and the other boy had a sword. Raiden died from a nasty blow to the chest. It was the most terrible feeling. For Raiden to have been so close to coming home to them, only to get killed in the final battle. Just when the family started to get their hopes up that maybe he was coming home, things took that turn for the worst. After their brother's funeral, Naida was a changed person. She was never the same. Her smiles were far and few between. The sparkle and liveliness about her was lacking, if it was there at all. He wasn't the only one that noticed the change in his sister. The change in her hurt Raviv, knowing he couldn't ease her pain any, no matter what he tried.

Then came the 55th Hunger Games. Naida had healed some by now. She was more like her old self, but still not all there. She'd become close with the girl Alba. Who ended up as the female tribute that year. And died in the blood bath at the hands of her District Counterpart. That was what sent Raviv's older sister over the edge. The Capitol had destroyed her, without her having to step foot in the arena. He would try and talk to her and she'd just sob, or tremble. Raviv tried day after day to help her, but she was like she was in a world of nightmares and couldn't wake up. So Raviv continues on doing the only thing he, take care of Ilayda, and continue working at his families fish shop. And try to reconnect with Naida. He has been trying to hold everything together for years now. A lot of stress for a twelve year old. But Raviv tackles each day with optimism and enthusiasm.
