Luna Thorne- District 6

Luna Thorne is a young girl of short stature, being only 4'11" and weighing in at 90 lbs. She is very slim, and her lack of work shows in her body; she is lacking even the slightest bit of lean muscle. Throughout her life, she has always been known as the one who is small and weak.

Many would call Luna "pretty." Her hair, which reaches slightly past her shoulders, is a bright shade of red, and her eyes are the color of an emerald. She doesn't have any freckles, moles, or other spots similar to that, but she does have a few scars around her body, and is bruised easily. Her skin is a very light, white shade. Luna is often found wearing a short dress, usually in the colors of pink, pastel blue, or white

Luna is a very intelligent girl, despite her lack of true "common sense." She understands how things work, but the daily things, such as jokes, just don't make any sense to her. Because of this, many people find her entertaining and silly. She decides it is best to make the people around her happy by laughing with them, and always keeps on a smiling face.

Even though she seems happy, Luna has a hard time connecting with those that she should (her parents, siblings, and pretty much everyone.) She has never felt close to anyone, and keeps all of her feelings to herself. To others, she seems pretty kind and warm, but she is really very cold. Despite this, she still cares dearly for her loving family, and would do anything in her power to help them.

She may be physically weak, but on the other hand, she is very strong-willed, and not easily persuaded to do anything that she doesn't want to do. She revels in the fact that she is a fast runner, and is able to outrun a lot of boys in her district. Luna loves to take care of flowers, as she feels that they are something she can actually "connect" with. She can also feel a small connection between her and her younger brother.

Luna was named after the moon, by her parents, Aloysious (Al) Thorne and Moira (Vandeviere) Thorne. Her mother is a frail woman of 35 years, and her father a very muscular, 38-year-old man. She gets her looks mostly from her mother's side, except for her bright hair, which her father proudly wears atop his head. Luna has a younger brother, Charlie, who is seven. He is dark -skinned like his father, and has green eyes like his mother. She loves him dearly, and often plays with him, no matter how childish the games are. She also has an older brother, Ezra, who is 17 years old, and has the blonde hair of his mother. Being the middle child, and the only daughter, is a bit stressful for Luna, but she has to put up with it. Her family is of middle-class wealth.

Luna's childhood had always been boring, but it seemed a bit better after Charlie was born. Her parents, being scientists, weren't around a lot, and her older brother wasn't home very often. Luna had a lot of alone time, and that is probably where she developed her attitude of independence. Once Charlie was born, Luna opened up a little. Even though he is so young, they get along very well, and she loves him with all her heart. Because she has never really spent much time with her parents, she has turned away from them, and doesn't share anything with them.

Luna has only ever had one friend, a girl she barely remembers. They weren't like "normal" friends, because of Luna's personality. Luna thought that it was fun while it lasted, even if it was only for a few days. She doesn't know what happened to the girl, but she hopes one day she can find her again.

Luna takes after her parents in one way: she is a very intelligent person, and often her work is used by those in The Capitol. She is very useful to them, and she knows it. But, she is never credited for her work, which she finds unfair. In her mind, she rebels against them, but she knows she could never actually do that.
