N A M E: Prometheus 'Meekus' Nox
A G E: 28
G E N D E R: Male
D I S T R I C T: Six
O C C U P A T I ON: Cult Leader
A P P E R A N C E:Prometheus towers over most people at 6’4”, however he fails to be very intimidating with his sleep-bruised eyes, and sickly appearance. He looks as if he is wasting away - every single bone protrudes sharply from his pale skin. However, when he does decide to take care of himself, he fills out nicely and can actually be quite handsome. He has a manly angular jaw, with a chin that’s only slightly over large. His nose looks like the nose of a god, straight and beautiful. His eyes are a clear, navy blue. And his hair is a pretty blondish color, that is only slightly diminished by his high widow's peak.
What else can be said about his appearance? Well, he has a circular burn in the middle of his forehead, to symbolize his devotion to the moon. He also have ten diagonal cuts down his right bicep, which he gave himself during one of the rituals in his cult. As leader of the Fellowship of the Moon, he frequently wears black clothes. He never wears white, because he believes that is would be like he was trying to steal the moon's beauty and perfection.
P E R S O N A L I T Y:Prometheus commits himself a hundred percent to everything he does, he never half-asses anything. This can lead to him wearing himself too thin, causing him extreme stress. Once he sets his mind to something, he works until it gets done. Resting is not an option, and he lashes out at anyone who gets in his way. He is extremely stubborn, and will never give up on anything, whether it is a person, a project, or even a belief.
He is especially devoted to the moon and the cult he founded to worship her. He believes wholly that the moon is the answer to salvation, and the hope for a better life away from the Capital. He wants to spread the word, amass a following, and lead everyone on a path toward freedom.
Unfortunately, his passion often times leads him to engage in long drawn out arguments with anyone who disagrees with him. He can’t control himself when he is mad, things often end up broken or askew, including his relationships.
Because of Prometheus’s belief that when his life ends, he will find peace amongst the stars with the moon, he doesn’t take care of himself well. He’ll go days without eating. Instead of sleeping, he spends hours kneeling in the bell tower praying for guidance from the moon, and worshiping her. Often times, He will spend days in his study pouring over old books about astronomy, studying star charts and the movements of the planets. Other days he meditates and fasts, preparing for night when he shall see the moon once more.
H I S T O R Y:Prometheus was an unfortunate child. His parents fought all the time, they moved around a lot, and he didn't have any friends. The houses they lived in - and they lived in a lot- were always worn down, and cold, and just not suitable for living. He longed for a better life, but it never came, it remained shitty. His mom would often tell him stories at night about a far off place where they could someday go and put all this behind them. She'd look out the dirty window pane and point to the moon and say, "There she is little Meekus. Just waiting to take us away from this dark place and light our world with her pure light." Prometheus would stare up at the moon and hope for that better day to come, even long after his mother abandoned him.
As soon as Prometheus was smart enough, he ran away from home. With his mother gone, it was just him and his father, and that made for a terrible life, worse than before. He got up one night, and by the light of the moon, ran out on his old life to start anew. It wasn't long before he was ingratiated with a gang of orphan boys living out of an abandoned house. They stole what they needed, ran from peacekeepers, and looked out for each other. Prometheus was happy with his life for awhile.
By fourteen, he had moved up in the gang, achieving a leadership role through his charisma and hard work. The boys looked up to him and trusted him with their lives. However, they were not interested in what he had to preach about the moon. They were simple-minded boys who couldn't care less about the moon and her purity. They were dirty, vile, crude boys, but Prometheus thought he could turn them around, make them better themselves for the moon. He failed. In the coming years, he would never ever forgive himself for that failure, working all that much harder to make his cult a success.
He did not leave them then. He stuck to the gang, keeping his beliefs to himself, but when he happened upon two orphan children who needed his help, he left the gang, and took them under his wing. He took them to his special place - an abandoned hospital that his mom had worked at - and took care of them. He told them how the moon would was their savior, and one day she would come for them, just as his mother had told him. They hung on his every word, and when they were older, Prometheus asked them to join his cause and help preach his word.odair
