[/justify][/blockquote]Personality:
September has a childish, round face. She has big fawn brown eyes that are topped by thing, curved eyebrows. She has a small and slightly crooked nose. September has thin, pink lips, that are usually pursed. Unlike other kids her age, she isn’t a girl to smile all the time. She is usually seen with a stern look on her face, unless she is with her friends. Her friends are the only ones who know her with a beaming smile on her face. Well that is unless Marcello is one of them. Since September has a huge crush on him, she turns bright red whenever he talks to her. Well actually she turns bright red whenever he just looks at her.
September has blonde hair that falls down to the middle of her back. She usually wears it in a pony-tail. Since she can’t afford to wash it regularly, her hair is usually greasy. Her clothes are worn out, since she can’t afford new ones and her shoes and socks have holes. September is small, measuring only 5ft. She doesn’t know her exact weight but she is skinny. Since she never had to work hard in her life, she doesn’t have a lot of muscles and isn’t very strong.

Likes:
September loves the other eleven calendar kids. Having never known her family, they became something like her family. She can’t imagine a life without them anymore. Most of all, she likes Marcello. Well actually, she has a huge crush on him. She’s had that crush ever since she first laid her eyes on him. While January is like the older brother she never had, Marcello was the one who made her heart beat twice as fast as normal. He still is.
Even though her name would suggest otherwise, she likes the summer and the sun. It’s warm during the summer. Live is easier during the summer. It’s easier to find food; it’s easier to survive.
Dislikes:
September doesn’t like the dark cold winters, when food is rare and the nights are cold. She doesn’t even like the month after which she was named, since September marks the beginning of the fall and thus the beginning of the long and cold winter.
September can’t stand it when people laugh at her. She hates it, that everybody knows about her all too obvious crush on Marcello and that the others make fun of her because of it. When she was in her first year in school, she didn’t know the answer to a simple question. The whole class burst out laughing and September had a hard time keeping all the tears away, that welled up her eyes. After that she never got the answer to a question wrong again because she started studying hard, reading her schoolbooks whenever she finds the time.
To say she doesn’t like Aibrean would be too much, since she is part of the twelve and therefor somehow part of the family. Still, Aibrean would be Septembers least favorite of the twelve, since she is the one that Marcello set his eye upon.
Good Traits:
September is smart. She is the best student in her class, knowing basically everything about Panems history and the history of the Games. She knows everything she needs to know to be a good student in school but that doesn’t mean, that she is prepared for everyday life in District Six.
Bad Traits:
September can’t lie. Most people would say, that that isn’t a bad trait, but living on the streets and having to trick other people to survive call for a straight face when telling lies. September turns bright red and starts to stammer while telling lies, which makes it hard for her to get food or other things for the others.
September is not what you would call street smart. Even though she is good in school, she doesn’t know what it takes to survive on the streets. She doesn’t know how to hunt and would never dare to leave the district to hunt, she doesn’t know which plants are safe to eat and she isn’t bold enough to steal from other people. Without the other “yearlings”, she would have no chance of survival.

September never knew her parents. She grew up in District Six’ community home, since she didn’t have any family or any legal guardian that she knew of. Growing up in the community home was hard. The kids there weren’t granted many liberties. They had to get up at the same time every day, eat, go to school, come back, eat, work, eat and go back to bed. The same routine each and every day, except the weekends where they were allowed to have some free time. During the week, after they got back from school, they had to work for the community home. They had to screw lids on little plastic tubes for the pharmacy companies. September never knew otherwise, but she always thought, that there had to be something else. Another life. A better life. But that seemed to be only a dream. The only time during the day when September felt like any other kid and enjoyed herself was during the hours when she was at school. She was a good student, getting good grades and for once in her life, she earned compliments from others.
She met the other eleven when she was fourteen. At first she was repelled by the thought of living on the streets and she refused Januarys offering to let her live with them. She was so used to life in the community home, that she was afraid of anything else. But over time she got to know the others better and started spending every free minute with them. The officials in the community home weren’t happy about that and forbid her to meet the others. That was the point, when September decided to run away.
She wasn’t gone long, when a few peacekeepers caught her and wanted to take her back to the community home. Luckily, January found her and was able to convince the peacekeepers, that she was allowed to live with him. Since he was eighteen by the time he asked, he was able to act as her legal guardian. The only requirement that September was allowed to live outside the community home was, that she had to show up in school regularly. Since she actually liked school, a fact most other kids couldn’t understand, she was fine with that requirement.
Living with the other yearlings had seemed to be fun, but actually it was harder then living in the community home. While there, she had three meals a day, now there were days when she didn’t have any food at all. She had to work harder then she ever had in the community home, trying to keep herself and the others alive. Living on the streets wasn’t nearly as much fun as it had seemed and even though the other eleven had become her family, she had thought about going back to the community home more than once. Especially during the long and cold winter nights when she had to go to bed with an empty and grumbling stomach.
