Personality:
Kerrick hated his height of 5'9 wishing who could at least be 6'0 like his father. He kept his brown hair at average length hiding a scar on his forehead from a stick fight with his cousin when he was younger. He has been told he has great eyebrows though he never understood why. His right eye was always slightly more closed than his left but hardly anyone noticed because of how squinty his eyes were especially when he smiled. Kerrick's nose was slightly bigger than average but was not a defining characteristic of his face. Kerrick kept his face well groomed outside of an awkward phase when his facial hair first came in when he had a prepubescent mustache. Kerrick would not mind having facial hair however his hair grew in patches. Kerrick had a contagious yet somewhat awkward smile. Kerrick's smile always lit up his whole face. Kerrick had a defined square jaw with a slight butt chin.
Kerrick found he didn't have the ability to have a six-pack though he was by no means fat. Kerrick had a defined body from working in his father's cotton field. He had a stocky build and kept in shape. He was fairly athletic though if he played sports he liked to be the one doing the hitting. Kerrick had strong thighs and medium sized feet with matching medium sized calloused hands.
Kerrick was Caucasian though his skin had an olive tone to it. He occasionally gets pimples around his lips that he tends to poke at instead of pop. Other than the pimples around his mouth his skin stayed blemish free.
Kerrick tended to dress simpler preferring to be comfortable than stylish. He generally decided to wear blue jeans and a button up shirt that he rolled up if it was warm. When he worked the fields he tended to wear a pit stained white t-shirt with his faded work jeans. Occasionally if he was really trying to impress a girl he would wear dress pants with a white dress shirt and tie to school.
Kerrick's father's short temper had worn off on his son. Kerrick however was aware of this and seeing the affects his father's anger had on his family he tried to keep his anger under wraps. Kerrick holding in his anger often caused him to unleash on his parent's and two younger siblings.History:
Kerrick was a very proud young man and this sometimes led him to come off as a bit arrogant. Kerrick's high confidence in his ability to work hard and do anything sometimes spilled into conversations leaving bad impressions on others. Despite his slight arrogance Kerrick had little trouble making friends in school. Kerrick was considered by most to be fairly charismatic. While Kerrick had little trouble making friends he tended to enjoy having one group of friends to hang out.
Kerrick is the typical teenage boy in the fact that he loves girls. He had a tendency to have a crush per class and would spend that class staring at his current crush. While Kerrick loved girls he had trouble initiating contact. Once the ice was broken he had no trouble talking to a girl, but the girl or a friend usually started the first contact.
Loyalty was extremely important to Kerrick almost to a fault. He would stick by family or friends even when they may be at fault. Trust was one of Kerrick's highest values and betrayal truly would tear Kerrick apart. Someone who betrayed Kerrick would find himself or herself never forgiven.
Kerrick was generally considered a serous person though he enjoyed joking with friends. When it was needed Kerrick was the one who focused on the seriousness of a situation. This came from being the oldest sibling in his family.
Kerrick's father owned a farm that harvested cotton for the textile factories. After an initial rough start his father found success and even employs five workers to work the fields. The farm has kept Kerrick's family comfortable but by no means rich. Kerrick never worried about having food on the table. The comfortable existence was hard worked for and the children all developed a good work ethic.Codeword: Odair
The comfortable existence caused the family to feel no ill will towards the capital. Kerrick's father worried more about his fields and his family’s well being than pointless talk of politics. The Marne's disliked the Hunger Games as most district citizens however they found the Games were one of the few things they had to complain about. They decided to forget about it outside of the time around the Games.
Kerrick had a younger brother, Flax, who is 11 and a younger sister, Lanolin, who is 9. Kerrick felt protective of his siblings and often got in trouble for defending them in school.
During a hard year where the farm struggled, Kerrick's father turned to drinking to deal with his stress and soon became an alcoholic. After an incident at an extended family gathering where Kerrick's father lashed out at Kerrick's uncle and grandmother than broke down and wept in front of the whole family, Kerrick and his mother got together and approached Kerrick's father on the issue. After some serous conversations, his father agreed to quit drinking. The family went through a difficult time, but Kerrick's father was able to successfully quit drinking. This moment brought Kerrick's maturity to a whole new level.
Kerrick had a normal childhood that successfully prepared him for district life. He learned hard work from his father and how to respect a woman from his mother. He did chores and was once severely scolded for playing a fake hunger games with his friends with sticks when he was 6. However he is fairly naive to how most residents live life in the districts and knows very little about death outside of watching the Hunger Games.
