Pipit Rayon- District 8

Pip is scrawny. Actually his body has practically no muscle. Though he’s skinny he’s not lanky, he’s too short it be a lanky. His head is covered with medium brown hair that blends in regardless of where you are. He has to keep his hair out of too humid weather or else it would become extremely frizzy… Pip just can’t rock that look.

Pip’s face isn’t amazing, but after 17 years he’s grown to like it. He has two hazel eyes that are leaning slightly more towards brown than any other colour. His mouth is normal sized, and because of the size of his mouth, when he smiles his large teeth become a very prominent feature on his face. The only other thing about his face that is noteworthy is his skin. When a distance away it might seem that nothing is wrong with it, but when a closer look is taken, the old acne scars from puberty are easily seen. He no longer suffers from breakouts, but his preteens were not a nice time for him.

Living in the textile district meant he had more options of what he wore. He likes to try different things out all the time. One day he could be seen wearing very old fashion clothing, to something flashy, or even something that District 12 would wear. It just depends on what he feels like.

Pip is very loud and talkative. He loves to spend most of his time being the center of attention. Even though he loves people, he also love his alone time with his sewing machine, Thimble. He knows he’ll be taking after his mother as a Dress Maker. Pip can’t remember a time when he didn’t have a passion for sewing.

Pip can become attached to things and people very quickly. (He's clingy) Because of his clingy-ness he can also be very jealous. It’s not a good idea to make him jealous because he is known to be very hot-headed. Another thing not to trifle with is his clothing. Pip is very vain and protective of his clothing and he doesn’t allow people to disrespect what he wears.

While he might not look like it, Pip can be very violent when provoked and provoking him would be disrespecting him, his family, or something that he cares about. When that happens he’s not scared to throw the first punch. He’s learned over the years how to break a nose, where to punch for maximum affect and how to use his surrounding to his advantage. His father has had to break up quite a few fights with a kid that likes to make fun of his father being fired from The Factory. His tendency to get into fights is also a reason people know not to make Pip angry.

Pip has always had a pretty good life. For a while it was only his two parents and him. He doesn’t really have any extended family that he knows about in his district. Pip learned how to when he was learning to walk. His mother had always been a pretty successful dressmaker and his father worked in the Factory making uniforms, so he was always home with his mother. She taught him everything he knew, and he was making his clothes since he was a young boy.

When Pip was 11 he became the older brother of Basting, Ba for short, and he loves her with all his heart. He felt like the majority of his life lonely and with the arrival of Ba he had someone to share his old toys with, someone to take care of and it was what he always wanted. He spent more of his time after that with her.

As Pip got older he still continued to take care of his sister, but also made his own friends, mostly people that understood his passion for sewing. He also discovered things about himself. Like his sexual preference. He had always known he was different, and so when he realized that it was being he was attracted to other males, everything made sense. His family was supportive, as homosexuality wasn’t unheard of in the districts.

So with his new friends, Ba and his new understanding as himself as a person, his life was going pretty well, with only the occasional fight here and there. Well, it was going alright until his father made a big mistake at the Factory, something about sewing a badge on incorrectly, and he lost his job. His family still has enough money to get by, but they were treated differently after that event. No one was fired from the Factory until his father. Now, Pip was expected to get a job and help provide for his family.
