Gender: Female
District/Area: District 8
Appearance:
With eyes brown as chocolate, lips pink as rose, hair reddish orange hair and skin white as snow. Scarlett Lace was born in district 8. She’s 5’’4’’ in height and she weighs 120 lbs. Her body structure is balance. She’s not thin or thick.Personality:
Her most favourite feature about herself is her high arch brows because she has a habit of raising them. She inherited her deep set of chocolate coloured eyes from her mother who had already passed away. Every time she looks in the mirror she remembers the way her mother looks at her. Though district 8 seemed to be a poor district, Scarlett manages to make alternative eyeliner out of herbs and coals. She never goes out of home without wearing one. Through this genius creation she sells it secretly to some people and she earns few coins out of it.
Scarlett hates wearing dresses, and other feminine outfits. She’d rather have a black long sleeve sweater, or a simple shirt with a black jacket, and jeans or water proof pants. She would wear tennis shoes at times but she’d rather wear leather boots for protection.
Since Scarlett lost her mom, she became strong and independent. Life is hard in District 8 she works in a textile factory and a delivery girl in the bakery during weekend or sometimes during breaks since she still goes to school. Scarlett is quiet but loving when it comes to her siblings. She loves the colour of black. (Quite a rebel in her own way.)History:
She fears for her siblings the way her father fears for her. She doesn’t think much of herself but she only thinks of her family. Though school gives proper brain washing, she fought this process since her mother died. It was tough because as the eldest she worked in an early age of 12. She doesn’t have much friends in district 8 just a few, because she has no time to become sociable. She knows a lot of people in town due to her job and she is known by everyone as the delivery girl of district 8. Since there’s no chance to exercise skills and physical training she is actually expert in daggers and knives. Instead of using a pair of scissors she uses a handy dagger to rip off textiles and other types of clothing material.
Her hobby is singing, climbing a tree, making herself familiar with plants, and making cosmetics out of scratch.
Scarlett’s flaw is trust. She's having hard time trusting people. Also her weakness is bow and arrows but she loves dart.
Scarlett Lace Velour was born in a family where her mom used to work as a tailor and her dad who worked as a carrier of heavy textile goods. Scarlett was given the name Scarlett Lace because her mom’s favourite color is scarlet and her expertise in tailoring goes down to laces. At the age of 9 her mom passed away from a decease leaving her with a 3 yr. old sister and an infant baby brother that is 7 months old. This is why her siblings are much more precious to her than her life because she was the one who poured out a mother’s love to her brother and sister. Her father began to see her resemblance with her mother, the way she cook, the way she thinks, how wise her ways are and how she deals with things. Her father looked for another job after the time the mother passed away, now he has a dozen of sheep in a small barn and the Velour family started to produce little wool and milk but they only earn little money. While her father harvests at home and only earn little money, Scarlett began to work at age 12. Her job ever since she was 12 was a delivery girl of several textile factories. She delivers things from one factory to another inside district 8 and she packages the bread in the bakery sometimes she works as the cashier in the bakery.Codeword: odair
-A day of her life-
Scarlett cuts a small leaf in a stem of a tree that was hanging above her head. She squinted her eyes as she examines the small leaf in her hand. Then she smiles. “I know what this is…” She told herself. She leans back to a trunk for a rest and dangles her leg through the air. Few rays of sun pierced through the leaves and it touches her long natural lashes. She loves the hot steam under her eyes for it gives off a natural blush to her cheek.
“Scarlett! Scarlett!” A girl with brown curly hair said looking up the tree where Scarlett was resting.
Scarlett looked down. “Why? What’s wrong Rosette?” She jumped down the tree and looks at her sister.
“Sage poked Jenny’s eye again.” She said in her saddest tone. Her eyes started tearing up.
Scarlett raised her brow and grunted. “Sage!” She shouted. “Sage get in here right now!”
A young boy with orange hair came out. He was hiding behind a barrel in the corner of their porch.
“What did you to Jenny?” Scarlett asked. Jenny is the oldest sheep of the family. “Why are you poking her eyes again? Do you want me to poke yours?”
The boy didn’t answer. He stood still and quiet looking at Scarlett apologetically. Scarlett sighed. “Why don’t you two go help dad milk the sheep…” Her tone became calm and loving. She patted her brother’s head and wiped away Rosette’s tears. She watched her sibling ran off to the small barn behind their house.
“Hey, kiddo.” A man said. He was carrying a sack of wool. His eyes sure looked tired and there were folds forming around it.
Scarlett hurries to the man. “Oh my gosh, daddy, let me help you.” But before she gets a hold of the sack her father evaded her fingers. “No, no. I can do this.” He said.
“Are you sure?” She asked. Her father nodded and gave her a smile. Rosette reminds Scarlett of her father. They both look alike especially the brown colored hair part. Scarlett tilted her head as she examines her dad’s face. Wrinkles and folds starts to become visible unlike the past 20 years.
“It’s a shame you work hard, kiddo.” Her father said.
Scarlett clicked her tongue. “Dad, it’s the least I can do. You’re not getting any younger and there’s Rosette and Sage to feed.” She paused. “It’s okay dad. I’m always here.” But Scarlett stopped. Life maybe hard, they can survive but the reaping was something her father fears the most. Her dad fell silent as an Avox. “Daddy, don’t think of that. If my name will be picked out I know you’re there to take care of them. But they will never touch them as long as I’m alive…”
