love writes a letter, and sends it to hate
my vacations ending, I'm coming home late
my vacations ending, I'm coming home late
SKIE . RHIANNON . FARRIS
the weather was fine, and the ocean was great
and I can't wait, to see you again.
and I can't wait, to see you again.

Resides in District Eight
Been in existence for seventeen years
An obvious female
Been in existence for seventeen years
An obvious female
Hate reads the letter, and throws it away
No one here cares, if you go or you stay
No one here cares, if you go or you stay
I barley even noticed that you were away
I'll see you, or I won't, whatever
I'll see you, or I won't, whatever
Skie never knew she'd end up tall. All through her younger teens she was by far the shortest in her class. She went through all those years knowing she was destined to grow no more than five five or so. All the other girls had already surpassed her, tall and skinny with legs as long as tree limbs. Meanwhile, Skie's legs were short and her torso was long, but it didn't help her height much. It all changed when the pains in her legs began. Eventually, the pain got worse and worse. It would come at night, jolting her awake from sleep. It was a horrible pain. Skie was clueless as to what it was. She never figured out the puzzle it was growing pains. All those painful, sleepless nights wore off and Skie towered over all of her classmates. She was like a flower that shot up from a seed overnight. Now, instead of short and five five, she was a towering tree at almost five eleven.
When Skie leaned out, so did her midsection. In her childhood, the girl had never gone hungry. She'd never experienced the hollowness in her stomach, the dull pain, and the weakness that many of the other children in her District felt. As a tween she would spy out her window, and through the glass see children fighting for scraps in the street. She never felt a ghost of empathy for them. Skie had no idea what suffering starvation brought. During her spying through the glass she would normally be engulfing a biscuit or two down her throat. When she reached her freak growth spurt her midsection suddenly lost the flab she'd kept since she was a baby. Now, she's skinny, and doesn't have a chance to put what she shed back on.
The hair. If there's anything Skie will take pride in, it's her hair. Even though the sunny waterfall can't stay without tangles for more than ten minutes, her hair makes her shine in a crowd. Her hair has always been more than slightly straight with a few light waves. Skie's hair has always been long. Her hair ripples past her shoulders and halts just above her stomach. At a sunny bright blonde color, her hair looks golden when sunlight hits it. In the summer sunlight her hair will get even lighter, which makes her bottom layers look like a dirty blonde color. All year round her hair will frizz, even more so at the top of her head. Her eyebrows are the shade of the bottom layers in the summer. They rest just a slight inch or so above her eyes, slightly thick and curve at the ends.
Skie has a forgettable face. She doesn't have high cheekbones, adorable dimples, or a perfect nose. Her eyes, oh her eyes. If you forget everything else about her, her eyes will never vanish from your memory. Bright, stunning blue eyes that get darker on the edge of her pupils. In the middle her eyes look like a bright Caribbean sea, then fade out to the bright blue again. Her eyelashes are long but blonde, which are often hard to see. The eyes themselves are on the smaller side, and slant inwards the closer they get to the bridge of her nose. Her lips are not thin but neither full, resting somewhere in the middle. Her teeth are straight but a few of her teeth are chipped and yellowed.
Skie has a very frail build. She is not muscular or fit, and her genetics don't give her many curves. Skie is a fragile person, and has become very thin since her father's untimely death. Her fingernails have been bitten to a nub and are often bloody. Skie has a slightly longer than average neck, and has very prominent collar bones. Her lack of body weight attributes to the prominence as well, however.
Skie is good looking and she knows it. She may not have the hottest body of the options in her District, but her other attributes pull in many gentlemen callers. Skie also does this sometimes herself. When a stranger catches her eye, she will stop everything she's doing to make a move on them. Skie will flirt constantly, it is almost an everyday habit of hers. When the men respond positively it makes her feel just a little bit higher of herself. She has not had much of a manly presence in her life, which is why she needs one so constantly. Skie is sometimes too straightforward with her method of flirting, and it can be a turn off some times, which is some times too much for the girl.
The men who return Skie's flirtatious advances end up regretting it shortly after. The teen is ridiculously clingy to anyone who shows the slightest romantic interest in her, or the interest of a friendship. She constantly follows like a puppy, and pesters at all hours of the day. She lacks social skills in some areas, and keeping a relationship going is one of them. She will always have to be there with you, doing everything with you, and driving any other social chances away. Often her gentlemen callers will rebuke her within the day, and Skie will return home, self esteem rock bottom.
That old, musky teddy bear with the faded overalls and rusty buttons resting on her bed is Mr. Cloud. Mr. Cloud was a gift to her when she was young from her father, so she would never be lonely when he wasn't around to look after his little girl. Skie would play day end to day out with this stuffed toy, and quickly grew a bond with it. As she grew older and began to be harassed and tormented by the other children, Mr. Cloud was her salvation. Often times she felt like he was her only friend. When she grew older, she refused to toss the old bear. Every night before she goes to bed she will talk to him about her day and tuck the old bear under her arm. When children tease her she often brings the bear to school for support, which only fuels the fire. Skie still has many childish fantasies, and the harsh truth of life she still doesn't understand, even though many other children her age do.
Nobody dreams like the teenage girl does. Almost every night she has bright, vivid, and happy dreams, much like those of a child, which is another reason why she still behaves somewhat like a child. Skie receives nightmares horribly. They terrify her, and she will wake up screaming when one haunts her sleep. Nightmare or dream, they are all very vivid. Skie dreams of a better place where the colors are not dulled and she doesn't fell that pain in her stomach. She does roughly understand what these feelings are, but she likes to be ignorant and shut it out, much like young children do. Skie also constantly daydreams, and has a bright imagination not yet crushed by the impending weight of adulthood.
When she daydreams it can be hours before her feet are firmly planted back on earth. She will let her gaze wander, and soon a daydream is filling her head. Sometimes she won't even be daydreaming, she'll just randomly space off. She cannot hear a word being said to her or hear anything going on around her. When her mind finally wanders back to the present, she often has missed out on a lot.
Her skin is thin in the sense as in she cannot take insults at all. Over the years some horribly brutal things have been said to her, but just the lightest hint of an insult will set her off in emotion. She is easily offended, and doesn't take many things well at all. Sometimes when she's being picked on she will just break down right there- not always crying, but spacing off, acting like she doesn't here or just falling silent, which also shows how vulnerable she is.
Jolina Cross and Frankie Farris met by accident. They bumped into each other on the street and an instant connection was made. Both twenty when they crossed paths, they moved their relationship along rapidly. In under a year Jolina and Frankie were married and expecting their first child. Within the first year of their marriage Skie was born.
The Farris family was rich. Frankie had come from money and Jolina had a slight little pot of cash from her family. They never had to worry about hunger or not having enough clothes to cover their skin. Skie quickly became plump, and her father's gift of Mr.Cloud was her only company really.
In about fifth grade was when kids really began to bully her. They bullied her about everything- Being short, being fat, and bringing a teddy bear to school. When she finally leaned out the bullying stopped, but it was only for a while.
Skie's mother was pregnant again. When Skie's younger sister was born her life was turned upside down. Once again Mr. Cloud was the only one she had to turn to. Her father noticed this, but Skie would shut him out. When she was thirteen disaster struck.
Skie's father was killed in an accident. They never gave the details, but it tore the family apart. Skie's grandparents from her father's side refused to have anything to do with the family, somehow blaming his wife and daughters for their son's untimely death. Quickly they lost many things, and sometimes went hungry. Skie didn't understand. Now kids began to make fun of her for lacking curves and not having a father, and the older they got the meaner they were. It got so bad Skie tried to take her life one night, and the crooked scar is still present on her wrist.
As she grew older the lack of a male presence was a constant negative factor in her life, so she began to practice her flirtation. It started out by flirty winks at the boys in her class, then kissing a few on the cheek. Eventually she became a pro, but also became very attached, which turned them off. Wen Skie developed her attraction she was actually liked my the kids who used to bully her. Until she became clingy, they used it as an excuse to pick on her some more. Skie is still bullied today, but she has learned on how to shut it out more. Shut it out until she can go home and cry to her old stuffed bear.
