Can we make a searchlight
From all the bridges that we burn?
Do you see a rescue
Or a deeper kind of hurt?
Her eyes were focused out the window, not on one particular thing, just out there. The stained glass relected like a mirror, it showed her her eyes nad hair, the way that it spiraled down her back and into her pale, clammy hands. Windows were not to be considered friends for her, the were enemy, reflecting back at you just the very thing that you didn't want to see, yourself. She hated herself, the way that she placidly smiled, the slight curve of her eyebrows suggesting much more then just happiness with others. No, it told of her enjoyment in seeing others in pain, the way that her heart burst with pride and power when someone would lay at her feet and cry. It was one of the few moments in her life when her energy drained and she had no mind for hurting others. It was the manybe, five minutes, that she didn't feel the need to make hurtful comments. It was her time to think.
Why did she like to see others hurt? When she was in a mood like this, it was a question that she always considered. Even so, the same answer always came back to her, circling around in a never ending spiral. She couldn't grasp the end nor the beginning as it rapidly spun around her small frame. Why did she like to see others in pain? The only answer that she was ever able to conjour in her brain, it filled her heart. To hear screaming or sobing, it raised her confidence and made her stronger, as though she were pullling energy from the lifeform below her. She always saw the glares of the other kids around as they watched the scene with careful and narrowed eyes. She never cared, her attention was always on one place and one place only, thats all that she had care for. Anything else was a mere rock in the way for her to kick, or leave alone, it was her choice.
