If you see me walking down the street,
Staring at the sky,
Dragging my two feet,
You just pass me by,
It still makes me cry,
But you can make me whole again

A girl was walking into the forest, following a little mud trail. Dressed to match, she was sporting a scarlet summer dress that flowed to her knees. The girl was prepared for a day of relaxation and herb gathering. If only her friends were here. She didn't have many friends but she didn't care. The new friends she had recently made were cool. She didn't think anyone would accept her. After all, not even her parents were accepting of her slight craziness, preferring to at least pretend they had a normal child. With a sigh, the female looks up at the sky, a brilliant blue sky and smiles. No clouds. No distractions. Along with her dress, the pale girl with raven hair was wearing a lemon yellow hat, which was standing out dramatically.
And if you see me with another man,
Laughing and joking,
Doing what I can,
I won't put you down,
'Cause I need you around,
You can make me whole again

She sits by a tree. It may have appeared to be a normal tree, but it was next to a little clearing that the strange 16 year old had discovered as a child. The way she had come across it was also how she got the scar on her arm. She'd been running. Trying to get away from overbearing parents and snobby patients that looked down on her. She may have been a bit out there, but she wasn't the only one. No one is normal, because no one is the same. So what is normality? Although she never agreed with the voice in her head. This time it was correct. Darkness shrouded the girl. She was in the tree's shadow. Nothing was nicer today than the the cool summer breeze. "Looks like forcasters were right. The seasons are merging into each other. Soon, only two will exist. It has to be true..." She lets out a laugh at the thought. It would've seemed absurd at one point. But now, well now, she thought it was correct.
Looking back on where we first met,
I cannot escape and I cannot forget,
Baby you're the one,
You still turn me on,
You can make me whole again.

The girl - whose name was Arizona - knew the implications of being caught here, but she didn't care. Why would she? There were maybe two or three people that cared. She looks across the clearing and sees a plant. That was new. She sneaks over to it, almost like she was cautious that it could attack her at any minute. She picks the plant and puts it in her basket. Grinning she thinks; I can't forget to ask Daddy to borrow his microscope later then. I'll test it and try to figure out what it is. She only hoped it wasn't poisonous.
Time is laying heavy on my heart,
Seems I've got too much of it,
Since we've been apart,
My friends make me smile,
If only for a while,
You can make me whole again.

Arizona looks upwards, the sun nearing the center of the sky. Almost midday. She sighs. It passed so quickly when she was on her own or with a friend. But on her own she was less crazy. Maybe because she trusted herself. Maybe because it didn't matter what she said, or did. She was as confused as anybody. Possibly even more so. With a small sigh Arizona walks to the middle of the clearing and lies spread eagled in the soft, lemon green grass. She covers her face with her hat and closes her eyes, enjoying the feeling of the sun's rays warming her figure.
