It was a cool day, made cooler by the fact that autumn was setting in. Being a coastal section of Panem had its perks, but other times it wasn't so nice. Panama wandered the open streets of District 4 taking in all that was around him. It was late in the day, and several people were rapping up their work for the day. Fishermen were bringing in their nets and several of the men on the docks were tieing down the boats. This was the time of day that he loved, it was so busy he could walk down to the shores and just stare out at the water. Letting the sound of it ease his mind, and put him at peace with himself and the world.
He walked slowly, but purposefully down the streets of the district so as not to attract a large amount of attention. The less people that knew he would go down to the beaches late day the better. He could get in trouble for going down there when it was time to return home. He stared at the water before him, each step bringing him closer to what he loved. He could already hear the sounds of the waves lapping up against the shore line, and immediately he felt calmer. The sun appeared to be resting on top of the water, giving it a beautiful red color. The backdrop of purples, oranges, and yellows against the clouds behind it only added to the peace he was feeling.
Once he reached the shore line he slipped off his shoes and sat at the edge of the water letting the waves lap against his feet. The water was luke warm, the perfect temperature for this time of year. He felt like he could sit here forever, but unfortunately he couldn't do that, infact, he couldn't even sit there as long as he wanted. He had to make do with the time he had.
Typical of a District 4 youth he was always prepared for a swim, and now was no exception. Taking off his shirt he walked into the water up to his waist. Than taking a deap breath he dove in. The water was cold underneath the surface which shocked his system, and almost made him take a sharp intake of breath. Swimming quickly to the surface he shifted his weight so he was floating on his back. Thank closing his eyes he relaxed his muscles and fell quickly into a light sleep.
