Personality:
Maggie is short for her age, overall smaller, and she is severely underweight. She has long, stright brunette hair that falls to just below her elbows. She has grey-blue eyes, but she's completely blind. She was born blind, they say she gets it from her mother.
Maggie has light skin, and body freckles all over. She often looks like a person who has just woken up, but on reaping day, her roommate helps her look prettier. For all the school pictures she's had, the photographer has tried to capture her eyes, for they truly do bring her look together. It takes a lot of direction coaching for her to get her eyes the way the want them.
Maggie is deffinently not small, but she isnt that big either. She's only a bit little, but it's hardly noticable. If you were to catch Maggie on the street, at school, anywhere, you will always see her with Ted. Originally he was named Teddy, but she decided on a new name when she was 14 because she could hear people make fun of it. Ina way, her mind has made up for the loss of sight with great hearing.
Some might say she is beautiful, but she never understands why people call her that. She knows it is a compliment, but she's always asking, "Why?"
Maggie, being blind, see's the world differently than others. She has no idea what color looks like, just darkness, and sound. She doesn't understand when someone is ugly, or when someone is this thing she hears people say; "Beautiful." She understands what attractive is, but she can only be attracted by sound.History:
Maggie is very shy, she doesn't want people to take her places. She knows she has to hold their hand, and sometimes, she will just stumble away. She wants friends, she truly does, but she can't seem to ever work up the courage to follow someone.
Maggie is a bit stubborn. She listens to directions, of course, but sometimes thinks she's correct. When she thinks the bathroom is left, but someone else says it's right, she'll turn left and run smack into a wall. She likes proving she's correct, but mostly she is wrong.
She is smart, for her abilities. She can't read, because no one ever bothered teaching her Braille, and even if they did, Braille books are extremely expensive. She does love the outdoors though, and likes sitting criss-cross on the grass, feeling and listening to nature. She is a quiet person, and when she does speak it's mostly just babble.
Maggie was born an only child, without a dad. He escaped into the woods a week before her birth. He didn't really care about her, he only wanted to free himself, and thought a woman and child would slow him down.Codeword: oDair
When Maggie was one and a half, her mother gave her a stuffed bear, of which Maggie named "Teddy." She later named the bear "Ted" but not until she was about 14.
Maggie lived with her blind mother, alone in the house, trying to feel her way around. Eventually when she was 5, a catastrophic event happened; her mother was crushed by a falling tree. No one wanted to approach Maggie, they let her wander around. Then, one of her classmate's dad saw her roaming around, and ended up telling her everything.
Maggie cried. Of course she did, her mother was all she had. She didn't want to go to the community home, and her friend's dad took her in. He housed many children without homes, he had a big house. She settled down in there, and shared a room with Philly. Philly disliked her for being blind, because Maggie often went though the wrong drawers, or Philly had to help her get dressed. Philly was 4 years older than Maggie.
When Maggie was 8, she was going down the stairs, when she tripped. She went crashing down, unable to figure out where she was, or where she was hitting. When she got to the bottom, her friend's dad found out she'd need more than a home. He tried teaching her things, but she was too stubborn, and wouldn't listen to his directions on where to go.
At her first reaping, Philly had to wrestle her into nice clothes. Maggie had cried, and kicked, and ran into at least dozen people, but she still ended up completely quiet for the first reaping. She wasn't picked, and she was thankful for it. She locked Philly out of the room, for private time, but just ended up punished for locking her out.
When Maggie turned 15, she started getting bullied by some girls at school. At first, she was completely oblivious to it all, until she started feeling random pokes in the arm. She was hearing the strangest things, people calling her name, taps on the desks, and it all confused her. Then her roommate blurted out "What an idiot" she was, and Maggie knew.
