Personality:
Silken (or more often; Silk) has medium, curly, golden-blonde hair that falls to just below her shoulders. She has dark, grey-blue eyes. Her skin is light, with a few body freckles in random places. Tking a close look, you can even see a few light freckles on her face. Her hair, curly as it is, seems not to tangle as easy as you might think. It rings her face like a frame.
Silk is 4'7", short, but not very. She is skinny, but strong. She can lift objects most of her friends can't, and yet she still manages to make people think she's helpless. Silk is often found wearing a stained grey shirt and loose pants. In winter months, she wears a dark green sweater that is much too big, but it keeps her warm.
Silk weighs about 64 pounds on a normal day, and it fluxuates between 61 and 65. She can run long distance, and likes racing. She also has a little voice in her head that tells her everything to do. When she doesn't do it, a huge wave of pain will overthrow her, until she does it. Silk has big teeth, not buck teeth, but all her teeth are rather wide. She has no gaps, but they certainly do squeeze in there. A few boys at school tease her, but mostly it's ok for she just keeps her mouth closed from them.
Silk is somewhat shy around adults, but anyone below the age of 17 is her best freind. She assumes anyone that young must have sense enough to be good. She can be extremely trusting if you get to her, and that can be dangerous for her. Silk has many good friends at school, but no one really returns her friendship full force, so she's the only one who thinks they are her best friend.History:
Silk hears voices in her head. There are four of them, as she describes it. One tells her bad things, and it often gives her headaches. Another tells her good things, which rewards her with headache relief. A third tells her in which direction to go, left or right, forward or backward, sometimes she gets confused, as this voice may multiply itself until she does it. The last one tells her in what way to move. To lift her hand or to scratch something that isn't itchy. She has to follow the directions, but really it's all in her head. She also has an imaginary friend, Olive, who she talks to on a daily basis. Olive is a secret princess in hiding, and she lives in Silk's backyard in a shed. Many a time Silk has wondered why everyone ignores Olive.
Silk is friendly, and can always choose the perfect words for any situation, well, mostly. She hates lying, but sometimes feels forced into it by her bad voice. Without her voices, and Olive, Silk would be oblivious to everything. She understands most things from Olive explaining it. Of course, this is really herself explaining it, but she can't grasp that.
Silk is scared silly of the Hunger Games, and doesn't want to attend her first this year.
Silk was born to Leonardo and Katrina, being their first and only child. Leonardo (Leon) is a baker, and Katrina (Kat) is his lovely wife. Both love Silk to pieces, especially Leon. Leon loves teaching her how to cook, and whenever she burns herself or the food he just cleans it up or cleans her up. Kat, on the other hand, sometimes gets annoyed with Silk's 'Olive' and 'Voices.'Codeword: oDair
When Silk started kindergarten she immediatly made friends on the very first day. Her teacher adored her, but everyone was a little scared of her voices. She has been told by the bad voice to cut off a girl's hair, to paint the chalkboard red, and even to put coals on the teacher's seat. They wanted to have her hauled away, but her "crazy-ness" as they called it, wasn't her fault.
They've tried fixing her, but no matter how much money her parents scraped up, all they could manage was a gruff, old counsilor. Mostly they just sit in the room, and Silk fiddles with a brush. Every now and then though, a kind man will come to her and talk to her about things in secret. Just because he likes her good points.
When Silk was 10, she was robbed by a group of adults who just ran off with everything she had but her clothing. She despised that moment, and never really trusted any adults other than her own parents, especially since the people who robbed her were her supposed friends.
Now, at age 12, Silken Amarie Fhaphithoa has a big group of friends, and a small group of adult friends. She works in a factory on weekday afternoons weaving sweaters, scarves, and gloves. In summer, she changes over to putting together shirts and silk pants, which only the capitolites would wear in such weather.
