“Where is she, son?”
A voice cut through the air, ringing in your ears. “Where is your sister? I demand to know!” Anger. Rage. Distress. Longing. All these emotion played around in the man’s voice. Your ears strain to hear more, curiosity biting at you like a fish might at a hook. Your eyes scan the area. There. There, that’s where the voice is coming from… “TELL ME!! Tell me now!”

“Never.” That one word hovered in the air, like a knife, ready to be flung and hit its target at any moment. You could hear the determination, the pain in the second voice. Slowly you are drawn closer to the argument. “I will never tell you where she is. She is safe now. Safe from you, you-you bastard!” The second voice was calm, it pieced the silence.

Your heart skips a beat as you near the corner, the raised voices becoming louder, becoming clearer. They belonged to two men. Finally you reach the corner and the scene races towards you. You freeze. You heart beating fast in your chest. One of the men was tied to a chair, His wrists bound so tightly, that even from your distance, you could see the veins protruding the skin. Your eyes travel up the boy’s arms, muscles taunt and strain as he tried to free himself from the restraints. You tear your eyes away from the struggling boy, your eyes travelling to the man that towered over him. You can’t see his face, but you know from the boys expression that it was not one that a person would be dying to see.

“How dare you, how dare you insult your father!” The man screeched his body shaking with anger, the boy looked up at him and smirked. This only seemed to make the man angrier. Suddenly the man had whipped out catching the boy’s face. You shrink away as the boy lets out a groan of pain. You close your eyes, wishing that you had not let your curiosity get the better of you. When you open them again your eyes instantly seek out the boy. Scarlet liquid dribbles out of the corner of the boy’s thin mouth. A red scorching mark tattooed the left side of his face. His eyes were closed. And his thin mouth was tipped down at the edges.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

“My father? My father?”

The boy’s voice was thick with disgust as the spat the words at the man who towered over him. “You are nothing to me, you wretched, piece-“

“better watch your tongue, boy” the man cut in, his voice dangerously low.

“Or what? You gonna hit me? You gonna hit me until I cry for mercy?” The boy asked his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Come one then. Hit me. I dare you.” He challenged his Blue eyes challenged.

You flinch away closing your eyes, not wanting to watch as the man brought is palm down onto the boy’s face. But there was only silence. There was no scream, moan or groan of pain, there was no sound of skin up on skin. Only a silence, that seemed to last for hours. Cautiously you blink open your eyes, searching the scene in front of you. Your eyes search the boys, they shone with a hatred so strong that you have to avert your gaze.

Finally the man in front of him sighed. It was a tired sound. “I can’t hit you. I won’t hit you.” He corrected himself. “I’m sorry… I-I should not have hit you…” His voice broke as he said his last words. “Please, please just tell me where she is. I won’t hurt her. I promise. Just tell me.” Desperation was thick in the man’s voice as he pleaded with his son.

“Liar.” The boy spat, his eyes flashing dangerously. “You have always been a liar. Once a long time ago I would have fallen for you puppy eyes like a love struck sheep. But not now. I know too much.” The boy spoke confidently as he looked up at the man, that had him tied to a chair. He didn’t look afraid you noted, and you feel a surge of admiration for the boy, and the way he stood up to this man, even though he was the one that was restricted. The boy stops struggling against the ropes, and concentrates on putting his full focus into the hatred that reflected in his eyes, like a wild fire. You cringe away, whatever the father has done to his son, it must have been terrible, nothing small would cause the type of hate that this boy possessed.[/blockquote][/justify][/color]

The man gave a short, harsh bark of laughter.

”You do know too much,” he says, any sign of desperation evaporated. “I think that I might have to change that…” He let the threat slice through the air. Your heart seemed to race faster. Your eyes automatically go to the boys. There was a flicker of movement in his eyes, but it was gone to fast to determine what he felt. The man sneered as he reached into his coat. His hand came out, holding an object that seemed to gleam in the moonlight. A knife. A scream is strangled in your throat.

“You are going to kill me?” Fear crept into the boy’s voice and he trembled as the words tumbled out of his mouth. “Fine.” He says, regaining his composure. “Do it. I don’t care. Kill me. You know you want to,” the boy taunted. The boy’s words were brave, but even from the distance your eyes could make out the tremble in the hands. The rigidness of his shoulders. He was afraid to die.

Fear tickled your spine, as you watched the boy. You watch as his eyes grow wide, but he says nothing more. Only looks from the knife, to his father, and back again, a look of disbelief creeping onto his fine features. The blood had stopped trickling from the corner of his mouth now, but there was still a trail, that crept down behind the collar of his shirt. You peel your eyes away from the blood as the father begins to speak again.

“It’s not that hard. Just tell me, and this knife won’t even touch you…” He says slyly. He strokes the knife tentatively with the edges of his fingers.

“No.” The boy says, finally. He drops his eyes from the knife, and stares at the floor. “No I won’t tell you. I love her. I won’t let anything happen to her. I promised.” He whispered almost to himself. You feel your eyes start to burn. You feel sorry for this boy. You feel his pain…

“Fine. I didn’t want to have to do this. But you give me no choice.” He lifts the knife above his head, and brings it down. A scream fills the air.
