Another day, another dollar...
It was one of those days today. I had just gotten out of work, and I was exahusted. Lifting and lugging logs of wood is no easy task. It was both draining and painful. Looking down at my hands, I see some new blisters forming, causing my hands to throb. I shove them in my jacket pockets, imbarassed of my scarred palms.
It was a nice day outside today, only slightly chilly due to the wind. But when you work as hard as I do, the breeze is refreshing. I realize I had gotten out earlier than normal today. My dad wouldn't be home for a couple hours, so I decide to take a walk through the town. It was a little bit of a longer walk, but I didn't mind. Tired or not, I like walking.
Aside from greeting the occasional friendly face, my walk is quite quiet and lonley. Nothing but the rustling of the leaves to break the silence. I wonder what Tyler was doing. It had been only 2 days or so since I last saw him. He was good company, but he seemed like such a dog. No better than the average man

I feel the jealousy rise within me as I think of that other girl that I had met. What was her name? Altheta? Althean? Whatever it was, I envied her. She ended up spending time with Tyler, and who knows what they did together. I'm sure it was more than "studying".
Shaking my head I decide to change the subject of my thoughts. The town of district 7 looked beautiful this time of year. The gold, maroon, and brown leaves were scattered across the streets and roof tops. The people wandered and walked about their days, frantically preparing for the oncoming winter. Such a busy time of year.
Rounding a corner, I realize there is some construction going on at one of the shops in town. I continue walking by the caution signs when I notice a familiar face. Tyler...
Butterflies fill my stomach as I am filled with mixed emotions. I'm happy and excited to see him, yet at the same time I am skeptical and resentful towards him...
Maybe he doesn't see me? I continue to walk by, trying to pass through without notice, until I hear someone call out to me... Damn.
