, I replied back. I proceeded to exit the house.
Gah, why is this sun so bright? Go away. I woke up to the radiant beams of the sun shining down on my face. For some reason today was a brighter day than yesterday, and I am not so sure whether I liked it or disliked it. I released a soft grunt as I crawled out of bed, I was still exhausted from all the swimming and fishing yesterday. The catch did earn myself some money though, so that's good.
Rubbing my eyes for a while, I then squinted to adjust to the lighting. I walked out of my sleeping area and gave a simple but yet elegant wave to my mother and sibling. "Good luck", said mother. "Thanks"
It wasn't really a house, it was just a small simple cabin at the edge of the coast. It was constructed quite some time ago, and it needs constant maintanence. Though, at times we can't afford the construction, so he has to live with the problems. That's what I do anyways, just live with problems.
The smell of rotten, distorted animals quickly caught my nose. I guess it's all the waste again, shame really. Such a beautiful climate ruined by the capitol, why don't they just leave us be. The sight of the ocean stole my attention, it was beautiful. Even more than yesterday. The beams of sunshine bounced off the surface of the water, which created a sparkling effect. No where could be better than this, not even the Capitol.
Walking up to the beach, I walked to a broken log off the side of the coast. I reach in and pull out my equipment, a spear-like object, a fishing net and a fishing rod. I decided to just leave the fishing rod inside first, and come back for it later. I then walked over to the sparkling sea and took off my shirt. A breeze flew past my body, it was rather chilly this day. Eh, time to fish.
I grab my spear by the end and walked into the ocean. I kept my eyes open and ready for anything that moved. Something swished through the water, creating a ripple. But the wave quickly distorted the ripple. I catch something at the corner of my eye and throw my spear straight down. It stuck to the ground and I turned to face it.
Nothing. Christ, these fish do move fast. I've never really noticed it before, I was just having fun I guess. I still am, just less than before. I needed a change to excite me, please my endless needs. No idea where to find it though, or whether there even is one.
I pulled my spear out of the ground and observed my surroundings again. Another movement in the water showed, and I immediately threw my spear in that direction. This time I hear a piercing sound. I pulled it out of the ground and it revealed a fish. It was small though, not like the usual catch. It shined with the reflection of the sun, beautiful.
I'll keep this one, it'll at least give me some money. I stuck my spear into the ground and pulled out my fishing net. I just randomly threw it into the air. The net landed on the water and the edges sunk down into the water. And by luck, I indeed did catch one. Bigger than the last one, but not as big as yesterday's either. Something's happening to these fishes, why are they getting smaller?
I'll just ignore it, maybe it was just wasn't the right season. I walk back to the beach and lay my catch by the side, quickly taking a seat afterwards. I stare into the vast horizons of the ocean, dreaming.[/blockquote]
