between two lungs it was released
the breath that captured me
the sigh that blew me forward
because it was trapped
trapped between two lungs
People often say there are three types of humans; the ones who makes things happen, the ones who watch things happen, and the ones who wonder what happened. Those people are often wrong, though, because there's the people that are a combination of two of them or all of them. There are also the people who don't care what happens at all, and Aquamarine is one of those people. Sipping on a bench, she wants nothing more than to leave the training center. She longs for her nail polish back home. The icy water in her hand feels good, like it's bringing her back to life, but her hacking is causing her throat pain, and she really doesn't feel like training anymore today. Her training stands before her - a tall, awfully skinny women - while fiddling with a knife in her hand.
"Come on Aquamarine, we gotta get back to work."
A groan escapes her mouth before she can stop herself, and the lanky women eyes her disappointedly. "Uh... Sorry, Ms. Gregory, but I'm not feeling too well. Do you think we could just call it a day?" Aqua asks. After a few seconds of staring back-and-forth, her trainer probably trying to tell if she's B.S.'ing or not, and Aqua waiting for Ms. Gregory to excuse her, Aquamarine coughs. Even if the cough wasn't on purpose, or fake, her trainer saw it to be. "You think you can play me, little girl? That's one of the oldest tricks in the book. But, you can leave, I suppose. Just remember, the only person you're cheating is yourself." As Aqua throws her stuff into a bag, she thanks Ms. Gregory, and coughs a little. Relieved to be excused, her thoughts travel all the way home, and what she'll do there. Eat some food, paint her nails, daydream about boys. It's so much easier than training, and she would give it up in a heartbeat if she was guaranteed a carefree life.
Shuffling passed the other kids training, she felt embarrassed because she was supposed to be as good as them, but slacking wouldn't help. The door - only a few steps away - is rapidly opening and closing, playing a game of peek-a-boo with the outside world. Of course, the majority of One goes to the training center every day, so the two worlds aren't that different. And right when Aquamarine's hand pushes the door, someone pulls it, causing her to trip on her own feet and fall to the ground.
"Jeez, be more careful next time," she instructs, while wiping the dust from the floor off her but. She eyes the boy wondrously. The familiarity of him is there, but she doesn't know from where. School? Training? No. It's too common of a face. "Beryl... What the hell is your problem?" she yells. Her brother surely didn't mean to, but she's pissed.
