This is the story of a group of people in District ten. Originally from the Capitol, these folks were cast aside for being too odd. Keeping the life style of the Capitol, they moved to District ten in the thought that perhaps they might live there comfortably. People who choose to live on the far side of the district because of who they are, what they do, or how other people think of them. Some may call them a circus, other call them freaks. Most just pretend they don't exist, though it is hard when you are near them. Come, hear the tale of these mysterious people, captured in the tale of the Black Unicorn.

Riding A Black Unicorn...

The Rider - Taken By ONYX - The owner of "the black unicorn", a beautiful black stallion which he had implanted with a fake horn. The Rider is someone who sees all of the darkness in life, and tries to put on a false cheer even as he drains the hope of others. Rumors about him say that he and his magic horse drain the joy from wherever they ride, though in reality it is simply the sight of them that causes people fear or sadness.

Innocent

The Innocent - She is the one who got clumped with the other, not truly one of the oddballs, but the unfortunate friend of them. As well, the other Capitolites made fun of her, so now she is beginning to think leaving was a good idea, for all that it seemed like the worst moment of her life before. Still, it seems as though nothing ever goes her way, and like she's the punching bag for everyone, both physically and mentally. What she really needs is someone to love her, whether it be a friend or a boyfriend. Someone to build her up instead of just knocking her down.

The Mechanical Girl

The Tinkerer - Taken by DANNY - One of the smartest men around, he was always ignored because of his "crazy notions" and the constant noise he made. It wasn't until he built prosthetic limbs for his daughter that people took notice of him. When one Capitolite man asked to take his daughter for his wife, he became frantic and demanded that he didn't. When he did anyway, to the astonishment of both he and his daughter, the Tinkerer was distraught. He heard there were a group of other Capitolites leaving the Capitol and decided to join them. Nearly two weeks later, he opened the door to see his daughter. Now they live together in a house near the other ex-Capitolites in District 10.

The Mechanical Girl - She isn't truly mechanical, but she has had some robotic prosthetic limbs made for her by her father. Against her father's wishes, and her own, a man took her as his wife. After a few days of living with him, she couldn't stand it anymore and killed him. Then she fled the Capitol and went in search for her father. She found him in District ten and rejoined him. They now live together in a house near the other ex-Capitolites.

The Straight Razor Cabaret

The Straight Razor - Taken by KIAH - The ringleader of sorts to a bunch of mismatched and odd performers. He owns a Cabaret and holds shows there. If someone goes but doesn't laugh, he cuts them a smile with his razor, which is what earned him the nickname. He hates people who are "a stick in the mud", and will give them a smile if they don't give him one of their own accord. He's got a bit of a temper, but it can change rapidly. Most classify him as crazy which he just might be and tend to try and avoid him. There's always the occasional idiot who never knows what's coming until it's too late.

The Cabaret Crew - A selection of ex-circus performers, lousy singers and numerous other acts that just aren't quite up to snuff. They can be just about anything, I mean, the song mentions a stripper and then someone who juggles dead monkeys, so just go nuts with this.

Don't Go By The River

The Vodouist - Taken by CASS - Lives by the river, always looking for something new to practice of his voodoo. Any unfortunate souls who wander down his riverbank are either killed as a sacrifice, taken as hostage or used in some form of voodoo. In reality, he is quite intelligent and not cruel, he just believes wholeheartedly in voodoo and thus puts his whole life toward the learning of it. Any who survive long enough to view his house will see almost twenty different altars and numerous shrunken heads. Creepy as he is, surely he isn't all bad? He has a pet alligator, which he named Creature, who he brought with him from the Capitol.

Cathouse Tragedy

The Benevolent MC - The master of the Cathouse, not exactly doing his dream job, but it works. He offers strange advice, but it's often true, especially about the girls in the cathouse. Often insults people, but then makes up for it with some sort of backhanded compliment. He loves making jokes about his job, and always ends up "toying" with one of the girls by the end of the night.

The Asian Albino - As one of the "girls" at the cathouse, she is actually not too shabby, pretty in her own way, most can pretend that she's normal. Kind of. She has a prosthetic eye, and is pretty free about removing it. She's quiet and follows instructions, but likes adding her own little twist on things. In truth, she is quite sweet, but she doesn't show that side while in the cathouse.

The Girl With No Arms - Another of the "girls" at the cathouse, she is a bit of a last resort option, though she's actually not the worst one there. Without her arms, many people would shy away from her. In reality, though, she's really nice. Those who end up with her for the night say she's actually a real treat.

The Other Girls - Basically, they are "companions" and can sometimes go through about for men in a night, or more if they're the good ones. They can have any type of personality, and an obvious appearance flaw would fit well with the theme. Perhaps even one of them could be really beautiful but be a right bitch, even if she's good at what she does. I don't know, it's up to you guys.

Oh Lord (Wake The Dead)

The Cynical Priest - Well, not necessarily a priest, but someone who would worship a higher power of some kind, probably better left as Ripred, to avoid the topic of religion. Can be either male or female, and sees everything in a cynical light, not truly a pessimist, but not quite a realist either, they criticize everyone on something or other. At times, they will try to hold some sort of gathering to tell people about Ripred and whether or not he is happy.

When The Circus Came To Town

The Runaway - He had always loved the circus, and on the summer when it came last he met a girl who he fell in love with. During the time of the circus they were together at all times, spending every moment together. However, when the circus suddenly left, on the day he wanted to join it, they had mysteriously packed up and left. The girl he had loved turned out to be a circus performer, and had left with them. It took him a bit to track them down, but eventually he followed them to District ten. All he needs now, is to get up the courage to join them, and to find the girl which he loved before. I'm thinking that he could have fallen in love with either the Innocent or one of the cathouse girls.

When You're Evil

The Evil - Taken by ME (Kire) - He is evil, and he loves it. Causing others misery is his source of entertainment, and watching the results of his effort is payment enough for him. When people think of misfortune, it is not uncommon for his name to come up. If there is any way which evil can be wrought, he finds it. Rumors speak of him interacting with the devil, taking orders from Beelzebub or even just holding friendly chats with him. Some women may see him differently, lonely and saddened, but for the most part this is an act. When he does feel down he pulls another cruel joke and his mood is gone again.
