Malcom 'Mal' Reynolds, 18 [OPEN]
Malcom aka. Mal is an ex-freedom fighter from a rebellion not too far back. After losing, Mal developed hatred towards the Capitol like no other- and despite his decent education he left his District; to wander the wilderness of Panem. He aquired 'Serenity' a small truck some years later after looking around at a black market near 6. As the years passed, he picked up many more people to take on his travels- to help in his escapades of crime and work of transporting goods of legal and illegal tender. Mal is witty and will joke with his crew- though he is very protective and loyal to them as well as nobel however, he will kill someone if he has too and is not above crime or bar fights.
Zoë Alleyne Washburne, 18 [OPEN]
Zoë was born in District 11, but left after the rebellion in which she thought alongside Mal. She traveled with Mal when they picked up her husband Hoban Washburne- they fell in love after sometime traveling together. She along with her husband Wash, helped out with Mal on 'Serenity' with jobs and driving. Though Zoë can be a loving kind person, she remains serious when the situation needs it; and is also not beneath killing if she has too.
Hoban 'Wash' Washburne, 18 [OPEN]
Hoban aka. Wash, was born in District 3 where the polution was so bad, he could not see the stars. Dreaming of traveling, Wash studied to become a truck driver for the Capitol in hopes of getting to see the stars one day. After graduating school, Wash went on a search for a job; when he met Zoë and Mal. Mal offered him the job of driving Serenity, and Wash accepted; eventually falling in love and marrying Zoë. Wash is a big kid, and always jokes about even in the darkest of situations- he is very caring of his wife and protective of her.
Jayne Cobb, 17 [Reserved for Kay]
Jayne was born in the wilderness, and fought as a mercenary in the rebellion; though he did not pick either side. He met Mal and Zoë when his old gang tried to rob them- when Mal offered Jayne a better life aboard Serenity as one of his crew. Jayne proceeded to kill his gang members before joing Mal, Zoë and Wash on board of Serenity. Jayne loves his weapons and keeps a whole bag of them- and even named a few included Vera. He can be hot-headed sometimes and likes to make fun of people- in particular Simon- but does not question Mal's leadership skills before the battle of Serenity.
Kaywinnet Lee "Kaylee" Frye, 15 [OPEN]
Kaylee was born in 3, as was Wash, and always had an affinity for machines. She used to build things out of scraps and work on broken things with her father- she loved the way they worked and how the parts moved. So when Mal offered her a place on the Serenity as mechanic, she didn't say no. She left her home at the age of 18 and left on a voyage with them never to return. Kaylee is always the bright spark when everyone else is sad and upset- though she can get a bit confused when it comes to her feelings towards Simon. Unlike most of the crew, Kaylee dislikes killing things.
Inara Serra, 17 [OPEN]
Inara was born in District 1 initially- where she trained for many years to become one of the best 'Companions' there is. After 12 years training, Inara left her District to go to many clients around Panem; mantaing to the needs of both men and woman. After some time, she met Mal who offered to accomadate her and let her travel on Serenity. Inara has always had feelings for Mal but has never shown them- due to her work presumably. She is very mothering towards Kaylee and River and also likes to banter with Zoe.
Derrial 'Shepard' Book, 19 [OPEN]
Derrial isn't even Shepard's true name. Born Henry Evans, Shepard was abused as a boy and left home at a young age. After 10 years, Shepard established himself as a master theif in his District. During the rebellion he thought against the Capitol and killed a man named Derrial Book- whose name he took on after then. After the war, Shepard actually became a peacekeepr but after a train carrying 200 Capitol citizens was highjacked- Shepard went back to living on the street. Some years after this, he had a epipany while staring into a bowl of chicken soup- he then became a missionary. After studying at the missonary he left and eventually joined the crew of the Serenity when he wanted to travel to another District. Shepard is a far from honest man but he is very religous of sorts and very peaceful.
Simon Tam, 17 [OPEN]
Simon Tam was born in 2 and was son to two of the most socially high ranking people in the District. He and his sister were driven to greatness from a young age and both turned out to be genius's- though River was more clever than Simon, often making him look like a 'stupid child'. Simon was a natural at being a trauma surgon and trained in District 6 to be one of the greatest in all of Panem; but it was around here that his sister stopped all contact after being admitted into a special school for the gifted. When he began reciving coded letters, Simon left his dream and went to look for his sister. He managed to smuggled River out of the school- which was training her to be a weapon of mass destruction but at a cost. Now fugitives, Simon and River are on the run with no where to go- until they find Serenity. Simon is very tense and protective of River, both are very close; he also has feelings for Kaylee but does not want those emotions to be put infront of caring for River.
River Tam, 14 [OPEN]
River Tam is Simon's younger sister and she was born and raised in District 2. From a young age, River showed signs of great intelectual abilities- often correcting text books and her father when they were wrong. She loved dance and was extremely graceful- though byt he age of 14 she had graduated with a degree in physics. The Capitol took intrest in he abilities and offered her a place at a school for the gifted minds of Panem; however not all was what it seemed. They were training their 'pupils' to be weapons- to take down enimies without being noticed. To do this, they stripped River's amygdala meaning she would feel every emotion without being able to push them aside. Her brother managed to break her out of the facility- and went ont he run. River is an odd sort, she is usually very childish and likes to have fun but she has out bursts of anger or panic; since she feels every emotion and suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. River is fond of Mal, Kaylee and Inara but she is afraid of Shepard and Jayne.
A Peacekeepr, 25 [OPEN]
This man technically does not exsist. He is a ghost, and he has been hired to track down the Tam's and kill River or return her to the Capitol- either way he is a ruthless killing machine and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
