The Darkness Inside

A group of young boys, accompanied by a single girl, are stranded in an old arena. A fieldtrip gone wrong, they become trapped and left in the arena without the knowledge of their teacher. Having originally come from the Capitol, they wish to keep some sort of order to their lives, and tried to create their own leadership system. They vote among themselves to arrive at their conclusion, who shall lead them. But is a simple leader enough to combat instincts and the natural lust for power?

Surely another of the boys will not be happy for the decision, and will try to force his way to the top. Later, rumors of a strange beast ripple through the group, threatening to scare everyone into a frenzy. Will it be the mutiny, or the beast that breaks the system? One way or another, chaos will rain down. Because in everyone's hearts, there is a savagery that underlies even the most civilized human beings.

Who will stay strong in this time of confusion, and who will give into the Darkness Inside?

Cayley Reese Palmer - {Played by Kire} - 16 - The only female among a bunch of males, she holds a special place in the group. She tries to help Ralph hold the group together, but is torn between him, Jack and Simon. Originally quiet and shy, she becomes surprisingly outspoken and independent. As the only girl, it wouldn't be all that surprising if she attracted the guys attention. Perhaps a little too much attention.

Ralph [no last name] - {Played by Cici} - 17 - He is neither the smartest nor the strongest but has a kind of quiet charisma and good looks. He tries to keep the boys focused on domestic order and the rules of civilization but loses his authority and almost his life to Jack's seizure of power. He likes to stand on his head when he gets excited, a trick he was taught when he was young. It also helps him to think at times.
"The fair boy/fair haired boy. You could see now that he might make a boxer, as far as width and heaviness of shoulders went, but there was a mildness about his mouth and eyes that proclaimed no devil."

Howard "Piggy" [no last name] - {Played by Rosetta} - 17 - Subject of the group's ridicule for his weight, asthma, and general lack of physical prowess or stamina. He provides the brains of the group, as well as the spectacles necessary to start the fire. Loyal to Ralph and all he represents. The most intelligent of the boys on the island, he is often made fun of for his size or his ass-mar (asthma). Essentially blind without his glasses, he is protective of them. *May be killed*
"He was shorter than Ralph and very fat. He came forward, searching out safe lodgments for his feet, and then looked up through thick spectacles."

Jack Merridew - {Played by OPEN} - 18 - The leader of the choir/hunters. Already militant as a choir leader, Jack leads his group of choirboys-turned-hunters in mutiny against Ralph's leadership by playing on the boys' baser instincts. Jack favors hunting and its savage reward of meat over the civilized domesticity and hope for rescue that Ralph tries to maintain.
"He was tall, thin, and bony; and his hair was red beneath the black cap. His face was crumpled and freckled, and ugly without silliness. Out of this face stared two light blue eyes, frustrated now, and turning, or ready to turn, to anger."

Simon Augustus Praximus - {Played by Lei} - 16 - The visionary of the group. Given to fainting spells and spending time alone in the jungle, he is considered odd by the other boys. Only Simon understands the true nature of the beast they fear, and only Simon has the courage to investigate the eerie creature sighted on the mountain. *May be killed*
"He was a skinny, vivid little boy, with a glance coming up from under a hut of straight hair that hung down, black and coarse."

Roger [no last name] - {Played by Semper} - 15 - A sly, secretive boy who displays, early on, a cruelty toward the weak and vulnerable. Once joining Jack's tribe, he becomes the hangman, causing Piggy's death, torturing Samneric (Sam and Eric) until they join the tribe, and preparing a stick on which to mount Ralph's head.
"There was a slight, furtive boy whom no one knew, who kept to himself with an inner intensity of avoidance and secrecy. He muttered that his name was Roger and was silent again."

Sam and Eric "Samneric" [no last name] - {Played by Dreamer [Sam] & OPEN [Eric]} - 17 - The twin boys who are in charge of keeping the signal fire going. Until they are captured by the tribe, they remain loyal to Ralph. They speak as one, often finishing each other's sentences, so that the other boys pronounce their two names as one word.
"The two boys, bullet-headed and with hair like tow, flung themselves down and lay grinning and panting at Ralph like dogs. They were twins, and the eye was shocked and incredulous at such cheery duplication. They breathed together, they grinned together, they were chunky and vital."

Maurice [no last name] - {Played by Kale} - 16 - A bigun who becomes one of Jack's key supporters, accompanying him on the raids on Ralph's camp.
"Next in size among the choir boys to Jack, but broad and grinning all the time"

Robert [no last name] - {Played by OPEN} - 15 - A bigun who plays the role of the pig in one of the tribal dances that reenact a hunt. He is hurt when the dance turns into a fierce beating.

Percival Wemys Madison - {Played by OPEN} - 9 - A littlun who has a nervous breakdown and is often picked on by the other littluns. He introduces the idea that the beast might arrive from the sea.
