I am dying and she doesn't seem to understand the effect she has on me, that her love is suffocating me with her every touch. Her every action pulls me farther away from myself and all I know, from all I could be, from everything I have left. Who am I kidding? She is all I have left. She is all I have ever had, but she is killing me with her sweetness, her need for my belonging to her. Above me, there is fire upon water and she shrink at the sight of it, trying to tug me down, down, down with her to where we,where she, will be safe. That light above is a beacon calling to me, tugging at my heart with every flicker and trying to draw me out of the fantasy world of Penelope's love, but she is clutching at me for her life, what nonexistent means she has. I cry out, lungs filling and my mind clouding. I can feel the fog settling in and I slip lower and lower, reaching up weakly for a savior.
No one comes.
I wake alone and gasping as her usual, sobbing into the stale air of the crypt for dear life. My entire body convulses, lungs burning up slowly with the reunion of air to their presence. Everything is cold, as if I had been dipped into the water in reality, and my body quakes against the hard grey of the floor. Around me, there is only silence. Death is quiet on this morning despite my rude awakening by water and fire. The tomb is still, tranquil in my fear. As I gain what little air I can back, I almost find myself comforted by the sight of the casket upon the altar of death. It is my very own bed, made and waiting for me. I have drowned here this night, and every night, and it just waits for my return. I will, someday, when my time has come and there is no more running from the truth of my inevitable end by water and fire, but I cannot stand to look at it any longer. I cannot stand to look upon what I will become before I become it. I'll reach that acceptance when I get there. Until then, I'll fight it for all I'm worth.
Before I leave, I eat what food I have from the little white creatures and make sure there is no water left to wash it down with. I shove everything back in my pack, making sure it is secure within the writhing mess of snakes. Exiting the tomb is like breathing in new air. It is crisp, although heavy with moisture. It is clear today, the sun shining bright in the distance and- wait, that's not the sun... I turn around, seeing the sun behind me a little bit, and frown when I face the opposite direction again. If that isn't the sun, then what is it? My feet carry me towards it without a thought and I take off at a slow jog, setting a semi-quick pace to reach the distant beacon before me.
I'm only part of the way there when I reach into my pack, fiddling with some of my things and checking to make sure everything is in place. It's not like I have much other than a jug and some medical things and a blowdart gun anyway. I grimace at the snakes, noticing how subdued and sluggish they are. I haven't been a very good ruler to them, even if I have let them eat the remains of my thumb. They really shouldn't be in my bag, curled around odds and ends in an attempt to retain the normality of their lives. It's completely different than living in a pit and I've kept them far too cramped up for their, or my, liking. I suppose I really should return them to their home. Stopping, I look up at the golden light in the distance, a little clearer in shape now, and sigh. I suppose it will have to wait. It shouldn't take me too long to put them back in their place anyway. All I have to do is drop them off and then I can continue onward to the light. With my new plan in mind, I change direction and turn towards the drop off of the snake pit.
SNAKE FEELS HERE FOLLOWED BY LEECHES
[holy leech cloud, noah ripley]
[dice=5]

BIRD FEELS HERE FOLLOWED BY SHIT WHOA FLYING AT ME
[Noah attacks the Etmut with his blowdart gun.]
[dice=200+4000]
[What did you expect, Miss?]
[WIP AGAIN
I wake up and drown.
I drown.
Have I mentioned I drown? I do. Ow.
I say goodbye to my coffin cause yes, it is mine and I'll be back for it.
Eat food yo.
I set off into the sunrise, I mean like the distance, I mean towards the sparkly pyramid.
BUT WAIT. I should actually probably return my snakes. They've been punished enough.
So I go back to my snake haven and like dive in and cuddle with them and ignore how they snap at me.
Some of them even curl in my crown and stuff.
Then I hear this really weird noise to my right and eff what is that swarm eff it is on me ew gross leeches?
Oh eff what is that, that is a big bird nope.
Oh eff it sees me.
Eff here it comes I'm gonna attack first.]
