August Caudell- D10

August's hair is a coppery red that hits right at his eyebrows in soft, sleek layers. His eyes are a dark bluish grey and conveys all of his emotions. If he's happy, they light up like candles in the dark and you can't help but be happy with him. When he's angry, they turn so icy cold that you either fear for yourself or are angry at whoever made his eyes turn so fierce depending on if it was you who did it or not. When he's sad, they become so miserable and glassy, you want to cry for him. His eyes are his key to communication with the rest of the world. His complexion is creamy and milky and clear of blemishes or freckles.

Living in one of the poorest districts, August is used to not having a lot to eat, even in a district that raised and butchered livestock. Being so, he's pretty thin. He's lanky with long, skinny limbs and a lean chest. He's surprisingly strong for his small stature but not nearly as strong as larger boys his age because he's somewhat shorter, leaner, and thinner. He hasn't got too many scars except for the ones he's gotten from work and just being a boy. Though his face is freckless, his arms, chest, and back have random ones speckled here and there.

August is known for being extraordinarily humble and hard working for his age. He's been working since he was ten to help his family but he never complains. He is unselfish, family orriented, and thoughtful. Even though he's exceptionally bright, he isn't disappointed that he'll never be able to use it. Sure it would be nice for him to live in district 6 where he could be an inventor or doctor but that would never happen.

He loves to create and invent things and is fascinated by the television and electric fences and farming machinery and the occasional electricity the district got. He always does well in school and if education was quality in his district, he would be in gifted classes but they don't have gifted programs in district 10.

He's ultimately a good kid, everyone's friend, really friendly, even popular but he's never the mean type of popular kid. Atheletically, he's a great runner, not great with strength though. He's pretty responsible for his age but he is a fourteen year old boy and loves having fun like any boy would.

His personality type is probably a balance of all four of the colors. He is a gold because he's responsible, family oriented, and orderly. He is a green because he's logical and scientifically gifted. He is a orange because he is a teenage boy and loves adventure and sports. He's a blue because he's caring and considerate. His multiple intelligences are logical mathematical, inter and intrapersonal, verbal linguistic, bodily kinestetic, and naturalistic. He's good with animals because he works with them but he's particulary fond of horses. Though he doesn't work with them, he tries to find ways to ride them and be near them when he can.

His worst habits are probably OCD. He likes things to be perfect and orderly and structured and gets a little stressed out when things don't go completely according to plan. He's a very hopefully, dreamy boy, with his head in the clouds and his nose in his books. Even though he'd never admit it, secretly, he wishes to be able to have a better life and learn more and never have to worry about money or food or anything. He's a hopeful dreamer but when he needs to be, he can be logical as well.

Rufus and Lucy were married at they young age of nineteen. They were best friends all throughout their childhood, probably since toddlerhood. Once they hit their teens, the began to slowly fall in love and as soon as they were both free from the possibility of being Reaped, they got married with the support of their families. Only a year and a half after marriage, Lucy got pregnant and had a healthy baby boy named August. Rufus worked as a cattle farmer and butcher while Lucy was a milk maid, milking cattle, making milk, cheese, and other dairy products, both giving the majority of the food to the Capitol, leaving barely enough for their family to have.

After August, followed more children. At three, August got a little brother named Beau. Two years after Beau came into the world, little Sue and Ruth. Sue had bad asthma and couldn't go near the animals or to school but Ruth was completely healthy. Four years after the twins came Douglas and then three years after him came little Emmylou who made them a family of eight.

Of course, as children kept coming more and more, food portions became smaller and smaller and the house grew more crowded. To make ends meet, August got a job as a stable boy at a local horse barn to make extra money and this past year, Beau began to join him in working. The family is close and loving and the children make the house chaos running around and playing and making noise but Lucy is a good mother and makes the house a happy one despite it's shabbiness and crowdedness. Rufus is a good father and a hard worker. August, Rufus, Douglas, and Emmylou are all redheaded while Lucy, Beau, Sue, and Ruth have light brown hair. There eye colors all vary but they all look related.
