The needle jabbed Cameo's finger just as she was about to finish her new creation. The finger waving in the air before placed in her mouth, whispering a "damn it" under her breathe. She examined her new experiment before using her rolly desk chair to slide her across her room to her mirror. Cameo put the newsboy hat on her boy-like hair, smiling at her success on the first try. She came across a picture of these types of hats in a window at a shop earlier that day. Being an orphan meant only hammy-downs, which wasn't enough for Cameo, so she created outfits she saw the more rich model.
Cameo checked herself in the mirror before exiting the door; kind of loose dark jeans with a black belt, a white long-sleeve button-up layered with a black vest on top. And now her new newsboy hat. She smiled a little, being confident in her dress attire. Though she was a girl, she gave off a boy, the way she dressed, her hair, her attitude. Cameo wasn't going anywhere special, she didn't have any friends even, but she always felt a need to look her best.
She trailed down a dirt road towards the outskirts of District Four, making sure she wasn't being watched before darting off the track and into the thick forest where her escape was. A few years back she found a hidden opening, a piece of the fence that was unattached on three sides like a door. Cameo went through it like a small, tight door and entered beyond the fence.
She toke a deep breathe as if there was purification out here, this was her home. Cameo was only packed with a knife, her trusty lighter, and a water bottle attached to her belt, but this was all the supply she ever needed. As Cameo made her way to check on her first trap she heard a loud scream. She stopped for a second, her fingers wrapping around a nearby leaf, another scream. Before she even realized it, she was darting towards the sound. There was no one out there Cameo cared about, but there was someone in trouble or hurt, and Cameo had to help.
