Age: 18
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 7
Appearance:
The majority, if not all, of Woodrow’s features follow a color pallet of dark, earthy tones. His natural skin color is somewhere in-between peach and brown, although his time spent lumber jacking makes it look darker than it really is; he always seems to be covered in a fine (and sometimes not-so-fine) layer of dirt from the forest grounds. He likes keeping his brown hair and beard (he always has some kind of beard!) in a happy compromise of short and medium and barely does much in terms of styling them.Personality:
He is 6’2” tall and is rather muscular; Woodrow’s mother jokes that he has seen so many trees in his lifetime that his body has tried to grow like one – sturdy and towering. His arms are the strongest part of his body, strengthened by years of lumber jacking (he can carry about 200 pounds comfortably!) and his hands are calloused and rough. Woodrow’s thick, prominent eyebrows overshadow his deep-set brown eyes but he is still considered quite handsome by most people in District 7 – even if it’s a rugged, dirty, lumberjack kind of handsome.
Woodrow has no set dressing style persay but he is usually seen wearing thick, wooly clothing (that’s usually dirty) that could be used for lumber jacking. He and his family don't have a lot of money to spare, so he believes his outfits should be practical for work above all things.
Hardworking is how Woodrow would describe himself as; being born and raised in District 7 Woodrow has been taught the importance of earning your living by a hard day’s work. He strives to put his whole self in any task that he is assigned to do or any task he cares deeply about and for this reason could even be described as a perfectionist. His long days in the forest have made him prone to daydreaming as he easily falls into the world of his thoughts while he’s hacking away at tree trunks. Being a woodcutter can be lonely work at times and for this reason Woodrow has grown to become a very quiet young man, however, he isn’t shy, he will talk if he is spoken to. In social situations Woodrow prefers to be alone, but his close friends describe him as a friendly, deeply-caring young man that would protect them with his life.History:
“Silent but deadly,” has been used by Woodrow’s friends to describe him. He doesn’t really let on to what he is feeling inside but when something angers him he shows no restraints and explodes at the person, at times even violently. His father has warned him against his rash temper but Woodrow dismisses his father as he prefers to do things his way without the help of others or anyone telling him what to do. Woodrow is a bit of a silent, plotting rebel and really loathes when the Capital or the Peacemakers use their power too heavy handedly. He firmly believes that people should be treated equally, unless a person has proven themselves unworthy of equal treatment through atrociously cruel actions. In that case, Woodrow believes that the most extreme forces should be used to put them in their place. This viewpoint has made Woodrow a sort of vengeful vigilante. He is extremely lucky that his temper hasn’t gotten in serious trouble with the Capital.
Woodrow is relatively handsome and strong but what he has in physical attributes he lacks in mental ability. Woodrow is not book smart in the slightest; he doesn’t care about bettering himself through knowledge as he believes that stuff taught in school is extremely impractical and not usable in the real world of lumbering. He may not be “book smart”, but he is “street smart” or in his case, “forest smart,” and knows a lot about ways you can the flora found in the forest for your own benefit.
Willow Awning was a recently graduated architect when she met and fell in love with Hedgerow Crocket. Woodrow was the first child (of 3 total) born to Hedgerow and Willow Crocket of District 7. Ever since he was a child Woodrow has been an extremely sturdy child, capable of walking on two feet as early 8 months and picking up a wooden axe at the young age of 2. Woodrow didn’t grow up in poverty, but he also didn’t grow up with a lot of money – his mother’s salary could only pay for so much in a family of 5. The birth of the fraternal twins (boy & girl) added an extra mouth to feed that his parents had not anticipated which caused extra financial stress on the Crockets. Woodrow grew up with his parents constantly worrying about money and for this reason he took the job as a lumberjack at the age of 14 in addition to his schooling by the Peacekeepers.Codeword: Odair
Woodrow’s school years were far from happy. He spent most of the morning failing his class subjects and trying not to get punished by the teachers and then he spent most of his evenings mercilessly hacking away at the trees in the forest, imagining that the trunks were the faces of his teachers. With both his parents and his mother working the Crocket family maintained a decent lifestyle. They didn’t have a lot of money for extra luxuries but they at least did not go hungry at night. (If by chance there is a shortage of food, his mother, much to Woodrow’s and Hedgerow’s dismay goes without food.)
Woodrow left school right when he turned eighteen and did not pursue any apprenticeships since he has been a woodcutter for 4 years already and had quite a decent amount of experience under his belt. He is esteemed by the woodcutters of District 7 for his hard work and dedication to his family The Crocket Family’s life in District 7 is far from perfect but it is all Woodrow has ever known, and he is thankful every day that he only has to survive one more year of reaping, however, his knows too well that he still has to worry about the lives of his brother and his sister – if they are reaped, it will be Woodrow, and not them, who will be entering the arena that year.
