Age: Unknown ( estimated around 35-40)
Gender: Male
District/Area: Wanderer
Appearance:
Tyson might be the textbook definition of an intimidating individual. He stands at close to six feet eight inches tall and probably close to two hundred and ninety pounds. This might not sound scary, but when you factor in the soulless quality of his eyes and the mask he wears when in combat or on “missions”, and that the two hundred and ninety pounds in almost entirely muscle, suddenly even the toughest men are shaking in their boots.Personality:
Tyson is white, though he is often tanned up from spending so much time in the countryside. His silver, pupil-less eyes were adapted for seeing at night, and see even better during the day, but he wears blue color contacts to conceal them most of the time. He keeps his head in a Mohawk, a habit he got into when he was a small child. His face is gnarled with scars all around his mouth and nose, despite the doctors in District 13 attempts to reconstruct him. He conceals these scars with a mask when out and about, unless he is trying to be unrecognizable, then he goes without it. The main function of the mask is to protect the scar tissue on his face, which has proven to be very sensitive to impacts and touch.
With arms like tree trunks, and legs twice that thick, Tyson looks like your worst nightmare of a career. His neck is almost non-existent from the muscle and he chest is the definition of a barrel. His strength is inhuman, and unmatched. He has been known to punch doors off of hinges or put his fist deep into stonewalls on occasion. What makes this even more intimidating is his proficiency with weaponry and the most terrifying of all, his proficiency for hand-to-hand combat. He is fast, but that is not his strength. His strength is in his physical strength and his ability to learn. His brain functions like a sponge, absorbing anything and everything his wants it to.
Tyson is rumored to spend most of his time in camouflaged pants with a black, long sleeve t-shirt and combat boots. He has been seen within the Districts or in the Capitol in a suit that almost makes him fit in within the Capitol. It is a dark gray, usually worn with a baby blue collared shirt, and a dark blue tie. In the colder months, Tyson wears a coat made of Bear fur and the same camo pants and shirt. When on missions inside the districts, or in the Capitol, Tyson loses the contacts, to allow his eyes to functions properly, and straps body armor over his chest. He throws on kneepads and straps the mask on his face. The mask wraps around his head, and causes a distinct voice modulation. All of his followers where the same masks to give them an even more terrifying look.
Tyson is angry. All the time. Not at one person in particular, but at everything. He hates the pretense of government. He sees nothing but corruption and evil in their hearts. His deepest desire is to see these structures fall, all of them. A world without government is a world in which Tyson would be happy to live. He can best be summed up in this quote from The Dark Knight “ Some men, simply want to watch the world burn.” This is Tyson in a nutshell.History:
He has no concern for human life, including his own. What makes this dangerous is that this level of crazy that Tyson contains, is masked by an extremely charismatic nature. People are drawn to Tyson, whether he is in the mask, or letting people see his scars. Any semblance of love that he had in him died with the old man in District 6. He knows his goals, and he is wiling to go to any ends and means to get there.
Tyson is a dark person. He can be friendly enough, but he is at his core, a crazed man, determined to exact revenge on the corrupt who kept his father oppressed, and who killed his father. He hates Snow and Coin with everything in him, although his hate for the latter is not public. He is very secretive about his ultimate plans, but his inner ring of followers are often involved in the plotting of their acts of terrorism. Tyson is not unintelligent at all. In fact, his brain works like the fastest of super-computers. He is vastly more intelligent than anyone knows at this point in time. He has the ability to teach himself anything he wants to, and often does just to ensure that he is as proficient at what he does as he possibly can be.
Tyson’s exact origin is unknown, except to a few people within the Capitols inner-circles, the highest ranking being President Snow himself. The rumors that circulate range anywhere from a lab experiment gone wrong to the bastard child of the President himself. The truth of it is that the former is the truth, more or less.Codeword: Odair
Sometime around the first quarter quell the Capitol set a team of scientists out to make a number of muttations to place in the arena to spice the games up for the quell. These muttations started as animals that had been tweaked to enhance the scary factor, and eventually became terrifying creatures born in the innermost, and darkest corners of the sickest minds in the Capitol. From this place, from this dark disgusting place, Tyson was born. For the quell Snow demanded a muttation that looked human, that could act, reason, and move like a human. But he also demanded that it was decidedly, more than human. Muttation number T750N was the result. The top genetic experts were brought in from District 6 to bring this dream of Snow’s to life. They fused the genes of two anonymous victors, both from 2 to start the process. After the embryo had begun to grow, they infused a variety of chemicals and exposed it to a number of different radiations, until the result was something that resembled a human.
They “birthed” the creature just about three years before the Quell. It was now that the true travesty and ugly deeds were done. They took the time to infuse lightweight alloy along his spine, ensuring that it would take more force than humanly possible to break his back. They took to this process every year after until he had reached full height. This took a little longer than expected. The radiation had a negative affect on his aging process, causing him to age significantly slower than a normal person. When Snow learned this, he was furious. He couldn’t very well have something that looked like a two year old in the arena. People wouldn’t respond well when one of the tributes eventually killed it. He knew that. So he ordered that the project be scrapped, and the two scientists in charge of everything were never seen again. Tyson should have been executed as well, but, still a small boy, he was sent back to 6 with one of the scientist who wasn’t executed. This man raised Tyson as a son, trying his best to ignore the “deformities” that made Tyson distinctly inhuman.
The muttation did have one effect that neither Snow nor the scientist could see. They took every opportunity to make this experiment decidedly inhuman. However, he was still decidedly human. He could reason. He taught himself how to read within the walls of his home inside 6. His “father” taught him math and trained him the world of academia. Tyson soaked it up like a sponge, another benefit of his “inhuman” side. Tyson grew fond of the older man that he called “father”. This man fed him, and treated him like a normal person, like a real person. But Tyson could never be normal. By the age of 18 he looked 14, and had the muscle definition of a 25 year old. It was at this point that the old scientist, who had been strongly anti-Capitol and had taught Tyson the same way, had a brilliant idea. He gave everything he had in the way of money and property to have a trainer brought in from District 2. Tyson was in line to become District 6’s first Career. The trainer did his job surprisingly fast, aided by Tyson’s ability to soak up information and apply it. Tyson became extremely gifted with swords, and axes and spears, and even more deadly in hand to hand combat. At the age of 17, Tyson was brought out for a reaping. He stood already close to six inches taller than everyone, and was the size of two of his peers. Snow, who was watching the reaping’s live from his Mansion in the Capitol, saw Tyson as he entered the district square. The order came almost instantly. Peacekeepers descended on Tyson at once. They descended on his house and executed the old man twice as fast. They put Tyson in chains and carried him out of the square, toward the trains to have him moved to the detention center outside of 2. Something inside him snapped, almost as easily as the chains that held him. The Peacekeepers were dead in less than 2 minutes, and Tyson was running. He was running for his home. What he would find would push him even farther over the edge. The house was empty, trashed; the only thing remaining was the body of the elderly scientists that had been “Dad”. Tyson turned to run again, and barely cleared the building before the bombs hit. The house was gone in an instant.
Tyson ran for the fences with all the strength he had, wearing his reaping clothes still. His face was scared from that day forth, to the point of being inhuman looking around his mouth. His pain tolerance was exceptionally high because of the genetic altering he had been subjected to. He ran, for what might have been days, using his shirt to conceal the wounds and hold his face together. Eventually, hunger and exhaustion caught up with him. At this point the story becomes a little fuzzy. Rumor speculates that some wanderers who brought him to the people of District 13, who had witnessed the whole thing on their own televisions, found him. They welcomed Tyson as a symbol of Capitol oppression and someone who hated the Capitol almost as much as they did. He spent an undisclosed amount of years among these people, being subjected to their anti-Capitol propaganda daily, and taking part in their training sessions. They even fitted him with a carbon-fiber mask to protect his reconstructed face during combat. All the while, he could see through them. He was far more intelligent than people gave him credit for. He saw them as merely people who wanted the power for themselves, not as people who wanted to liberate anyone. They simply wanted to be the oppressors themselves. Disgust doesn’t quantify the distain Tyson felt for Coin and the other leaders within 13, but he simply sat by and bought his time, waiting for his moment to exact revenge. At some point in recent history, Tyson left 13, with an unknown number of people behind him, as followers who saw the corruption of the government in 13 and the Capitol. They supposedly founded a group of mercenaries, known simply as ‘The Darkness’. They have been accused of causing problems throughout the Districts and the Capitol. They have been linked to bombings of Capitol offices in the districts, to the disappearances of Capitol officials from within the Capitol. The last rumor of Tyson’s whereabouts put him somewhere inside District 10, supposedly rallying followers.
