Thalia Lipprivick - District 4

Thalia was always fairly short for her age, due to a lack of food. At just 5'1'', she is much shorter then her friends and peers. Having been constantly underfed her whole life, she is quite skinny. However, from constantly being forced to escape from her abusive family by climbing the trees, she has slight muscles in her arms, which are surprisingly strong for her size and age.

Her hair is mousy brown and cut in a bob, with the back of her head cut like a boy's and the front hanging an inch from her chin. Her eyes are ice blue. Her facial features are quite soft and, combined with her relatively large eyes, give her a look of innocence. Combined with her pale skin, unusual for her District, she also tends to come across as weak, and sickly, and so is often harrassed by other children. As a result, she has a jagged scar above her left eyebrow from a broken bottle, and it is one of a few features she is proud of.

To some, though, she is thought of as quite attractive. Her petite figure, bright eyes and soft features come across as beautiful to several boys in her district. Her hair also attracts interest, as it tends to look as if she has just finished styling it even if she has come out of fierce wind.

Thalia's personality is an indicator of her background. She is generally untrusting of people, and prefers to watch from a distance until she can get a better understanding of the person in question. Preferring not to show her emotions for fear of a violent rebuke, she often comes across as reserved, or emotionless.

To those who know her well and have gained her trust, they find her true personality comes across. She is a girl with a true sense of humour, and tries to look at everything with optimism. She is not a natural-born leader, and prefers not to be the centre of attention, however she will not hesitate to stand up for what she believes in.

She is best-renowned by her friends for her honesty and fierce loyalty. She has been known to stand up to her best friends to defend others who are not necessarily in her small group of friends. Thalia, however, sometimes lets her background show. She often has flares of anger, and struggles to refrain from repeating shocking and violent words when scared or upset. However, after a few calm words from her friends, she returns to her normal self.

Thalia prefers to be known as Tally. She has grown up in an insecure background living with her mother, step-father, three step-brothers and her sister. Her 3 step-brothers are her constant source of misery. 21 year old Mace, 18 year old Joshie and 15 year old Crawdan are almost constantly trying to push her around, and have several times gone as far as to hit her violently. They enjoy forcing her to do jobs for her District and giving them the little money she makes, and if there is not enough she is beaten. As a result she is almost always running away from some sort of punishment, and is very good at long-distance running, short-distance sprinting and climbing trees quickly.

Her sister, 19 year old Grace, is very much different to her step-brothers. She prefers to look after Tally, and will often feed her and give her things of her own. Grace is the only person in the family Tally looks up to, and is determined to make Grace proud of her.

Her step-father and mother are constantly arguing. Whether it is about Tally, money or whatever else, they are screaming the house down. Her father takes to stealing liquer and is almost constantly drunk. This is what Tally fears the most, as when her father is drunk he abuses her verbally and physically. Though her mother loves Tally, she is too cowardly to stand up to her husband in any way, and so Tally has grown to resent her mother a lot.

Tally has many skills acquired from her childhood and her District. She is very good at running, as mentioned previously. She can climb trees quickly and silently, and is often seen jumping from tree to tree, practicing her stealth. She is also very good with knots and camouflage, and can make almost any knot with a small length of rope. She is not outstanding in any combat, her archery skills are limited, but she if she sets her mind on it she can catch quite a few animals. Her best talent with regards to combat is throwing objects. Like Finnick, she is handy with a tridant, though not anywhere near as good as the latter. She can throw knives fairly well, though does miss a few. She is not very skilled at close combat, and because of that prefers to stay hidden and distant when practicing combat.

Thalia has not taken the tessarae as her family has enough money to feed themselves, though they often don't include her, and even if she did she would get no share of the food. Tally had been told from a young child that no food was helping her, as if she was ever entered in the Hunger Games she would be able to go without food, unlike other better-fed contestants. However she knows this to be a lie as many other people recieve much less food then her, and in fact it was just an excuse to get her to shut up about food. She doesn't let that get her down, however, and prefers to go and find whatever food she can, whether that means eating berries or risking her life to steal the seafood forbidden to her. Thalia hopes to get a job as a Nurse when she is older.
