Does, Thinks, Says, Hears
There is a time when your strength gives up. Today was the day Jay's strength gave up. Jay had known he wasn't going to be strong for much longer. Jay had done everything he could and got ready for Peridot Myler's Victory Tour. Jay had a bone to pick with Peridot. He had killed his last family member left. Jay was not happy about Mason dying or about Peridot winning. It should have been his brother. His brother was prepared, but maybe that's not what you need for the games. He was messed up in the head. Jay would never forgive Peridot. He would never forgive him.
Jay looked in the mirror. His eyes had bags under them from the sleep he doesn't get. The only real night he slept was the night Mason rowed away. Even then it wasn't a very good sleep. Jay's posture was pretty good. He wore a black button up shirt and a red tie. He had dress pants on and a nice pair of shoes. Jay made his way out of his home in the shack. Two rooms were empty now. He walked through the sand, until he got onto solid ground.
He shook his feet to get rid of the sand. He made his way to the district square, where the reaping had happened. He stood in the very front of the crowd. He waited as everyone was settled down. Peridot went on stage and ave his speech. Jay had blocked it out not wanting to hear Peridot. Jay watched as the blonde spoke. And to think he thought the blonde bloke was hot. Jay chuckled at the thought. Peri was an evil bloke who killed his brother. He was no god like they were supposedly in the arena. Peri was evil.
Peri finished his speech and walked off the stage. Jay watched Peri carefully. Everyone else made their way out of there. Jay slowly walked up to the boy who had killed his brother. Peri was evil. Jay caught up to Peri. He said in a calm voice.
"Peridot Myler, right? Well I am Jay Krearns."
I looked at the blonde boy. He was not what the television had made him look like. He was no victor. He was no god. He was not a good person. He was evil. He was like a mutt. He wasn't even human anymore to Jay. Peridot was the beast that killed his brother. He was a beast that had killed a few innocent lives. Jay would never forgive him for taking the life of his older brother.
Jay even remembers what Mason had said about the District 1 careers. He said that they always cared only about gems and jewels and the games. They had always been rich, richer than most districts. Davy always hated District 1 too, well when he was alive. He had lost both of his brothers. He had lost both of them to beasts. He lost Davy to a shark and he lost Mason to Peridot, they were both beasts that Jay would never forgive.
Jay brought his attention back to Peridot. Jay stood his ground. He was not gonna let Peridot leave without Jay putting a word in. Jay crossed his arms. He waited to see if the boy would reply to him. He tapped his foot impatiently. Peridot Myler, the boy who killed the sea.
