Appearance:
When someone said Velorum looked handsome, they were not far from being correct. To the average person he looks up there, like a model like statue, with his short, windswept, brown hair, which is only accented further by his captivating, piercing blue eyes. The combination gives him an almost radiant glow, and generally it goes well for him and adds to the allure that is Mr. Lockhearst. To further his easy on the eyes appearance, he has rather muscular build, which is well toned and is living proof that a number cruncher can be quite fit. On top of all the rest, his fair skin brings out his key features, showing off his strong cheek bones, his intriguing jawline and his proportional lips.Personality:
At first glance he seems nothing more than a scrawny person that has clearly ignored physical exercise for the sake of devoting oneself to a nine to five desk job. That assumption would be anything but correct, because under all his designer clothes and his fancy jackets - Vel actually has a very sexy, toned body that is riddled with muscles. He has maintained and gained his physique through a rather strenuous workout that he performs when he is not at work or keeping up public appearances. Of course they are not entirely too bulky, they are somewhat compact, tight fitted to his body to show off as something that rivals a work of art, as opposed to being large and grotesque. His body is just the perfect size too, weight wise - not being too large or to small, but being at an appropriate 'in-between' marker.
Style is something that he definitely possesses, and whatever he may lack in the skill is easily fixed by his coworkers, mother or sister. He tries to stay at the higher, more glorious end of the fashion world with very detailed suits. Of course there are some fashions that he can clearly pick out as distasteful to him, but with that being said - he has found his own sense of fashion, which is rather comfortable with a slight hint of athleticism, yet posh and quite easy on the eyes. Everything he wears is designer and accents each and every aspect of his body, to the point that the theory of him being a model could be entirely true. Between his looks and his fashion sense and his body, he seems to be a knock down drag 'em out - and that is something he is proud of.
From his experience in his field he is very intelligent and has an almost supernatural grasp of numbers, which makes his mind a mental calculator. He has an honest face and that generally makes him trusted, but that also doesn’t give an entire opinion about someone because you can’t read a book by its cover. With his old fashioned morals and how he was raised it has molded his mind into something of a minor, business-like saint. Due to his position of wealth and a remote sense of power he has come to see that he hates what his society is slightly, due to their broadcasting of the Hunger Games but in the end he sort of sides with it because it is and always will be a better alternative to war.History:
He still, like everyone else, has his own insecurities as well. That plays a larger part of who he is than anything else. He isn't outspoken because he cares about what people think generally, he has had horrible relationships in the past so he views himself as a bit obscure for being left and what not. He is also firm in his beliefs, however, and isn't afraid to speak up when someone is hesitating with a task or is just being plain old hypocritical or a bully. That isn't what Velorum views as fair and despite being shy and not very outspoken, he will still call someone out when they need it because it keeps people in check and makes sure no one gets run over like a door mat.
That is how he got where he is, standing his ground and he believes that if someone truly applies themselves, like he has, that they can achieve greatness. He is also all for giving people a chance and bettering the community, which is why he is going to actually go further into his sponsoring of the tributes for the Hunger Games this year. Generally speaking he is fairly quiet and rarely speaks the full extent of his mind. Despite not being outspoken he knows what he wants and he is incredibly driven and goal oriented.
Thirty-five years ago a child was brought into this world by Orchid and Crucis Lockhearst, one of the many wealthy families of The Capitol. He was the first of several children and by far probably one of the most privileged. Naturally the couple was happy and very interested in trying to mold their baby boy into the perfect citizen. The original plan was to introduce Velorum to the architectural trade and get him to be a gamemaker, but that wasn’t an option – because he showed far more interest in numbers as opposed to drawing blueprints and being strategic with locations. It was destined even from the beginning that he would go into something to do with numbers and possibly crunching them, which is why his father introduced him to financial advising at a very, very young age. It wasn’t that long after he was born, however, that his family began to expand and that was with the introduction of his brother, Horne. Horne and Velorum were incredibly close and resembled each other so much that it was uncanny and were often mistaken for being twins. As they grew closer and closer and Rum went into actually being tutored by a math instructor, the Lockhearst’s were graced with another child, the third boy in the equation, Atlas. And he took kept the look-a-likes going, but he was a tad bit different. Unlike the other two brothers, he wasn’t entirely business savvy or interested in dealing with numbers on a daily basis. Instead he seemed to be more or less the artsy fellow and took an interest in gems at a young age, automatically determining his future occupation.Codeword: ODAIR
The boys were all very close and spent a great deal of time with each other and their family bond was impossibly strong. It wasn’t for another five years that the last addition to their family would come along, in the form of an artsy female, Prine. They were all similar and all showed off the great gene pool that Orchid and Crucis had bestowed upon them – but at the same time, each of them took on a certain degree of their parent’s personalities. Horne and Velorum had become like their father, a business man that had only math and prestige to look forward to, while Prine and Atlas were like their mother – creative, artsy and somewhat laid back. Time passed and they all went on the path to their respected career, and just as expected Rum went into the financial advisory field, which was great for him.
Luck was on his side and his siblings as they all missed out on the reaping, due to the fact that they were capitol citizens and instead just kept moving forward, which eventually led to the eldest brother moving out on his own. Just like most of the citizens he worked his regular job, his extended shifts and watched the Hunger Games every year, never really indulging in it – but finding it was the only thing on television that was worth watching at that time of year. But he has finally taken it upon himself now that he has become one of the more wealthy faces in Panem to try and help the tributes during the games. It will be his first year as a sponsor and he wants to try to find the perfect tribute to donate to, completely trusting their mentor to use the money wisely for them.
