"Boys, boys, settle down, gather around the campfire and let us begin. To the boys - the boys dedicated to sucking the marrow out of life, to the boys who wish to find something beyond the center in which we're all trapped, all of us. So here we gather, in the middle of the woods, with pages in hand and the mystical lights of the forest to guide the way. Here, in the light of the moon, we read, we celebrate, we create. Create everything and anything with our fingertips. We read, we read and in the moment let the world enchant us with the verses - with the magic of words, with the magic of the world around us, let us read poetry. No, no, not just a bunch of boys sitting around a campfire - not just a bunch of Indians running through the woods, we are free, don't you know? We are not limited to swords, or knives, we are not limited to flails and whips, no. We have the expanse sky above us, we have the dark ground sinking below our feet. We are the romantics, in books of old, we are the boys that make the ladies swoon (or men) we are the silver-tongued fools that talk castles to the ground in a single free verse, and gods are created gentlemen, gods are made here in the woods.
Not a bad way to spend the evening, eh?
All right, all right gentlemen, let us begin.
I hereby reconvene the Dead Poets Society."
"I went to the woods because I wanted to
live deliberately. I wanted to live deep
and suck out all the marrow of life.
To put to rout all that was not life,
and not, when I had come to die,
discover that I had not lived."

Carpe Diem ! Seize the Day! In a career training center in the outskirts of District Two stands a group of seven boys who have had enough of the emotionless training that has been implanted in their brains. Why should they become robots? In what way is that effective? What way? What way? The restraints pushing, pushing against the freedom of thought becomes absolutely unbearable, the mindless control of swinging weapons, day in and out, sleeping at night, training during the day, nothing between.
That is, of course, until young Eran Whitz comes upon a novel, old as time - perhaps even older than the District revolutions themselves underneath a rickety old floorboard in his home - "100 Best Poems of All Time" the author's name wiped out furiously from years upon years covered in dust. "A compilation by *smdgesmudge* Keating." A note written in beautiful calligraphy on the front page, yellow and rusted from years of age, "To the new generation of poets, may you run free and wild. 'The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here—that life exists, and identity; That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.' - Walt Whitman"
Coming from different backgrounds, of various social classes, different levels of wealth, and different family settings, Whitz brings the group together in a revolution - a mutiny against the mind control that forced death, and murder into their frail teenage mind, and they ran to the woods each night, starting the Dead Poet's Society. Here - the boy's recite poems of their own creation, they run to the woods - and live free, live free from the constructs set up around them, despite the harsh rules set against them. No going out after dark, no deviating from your training, be a good career and win - train, win. Fight. Running to the woods is a danger, but a necessary escape, if only to say one single rhyme.
A group of boys in the wood, reading poetry, what else could be better?
This is an audition plot based off of the Dead Poets Society, if you haven't seen it, I highly suggest it.[/blockquote][/color]
You're completely free to do whatever you want with these characters, like just keeping a general concept to them. I'll try and be brief with what they're described as.
Also - this will require you to write poetry, as the group threads will be their meetings in which they will read poetry about what's going on in their life. What poetry is, to you, is whatever, they can make limericks for all I care - just poems !!!
The characters new name is entirely up to you, though I suggest doing what Elegant and I have done in making the last name an abridged poets name. For instance, I did Whitz, for Whitman, and Ele did Reau, for Thoreau. Because that's cute and witty <3
If you have a character that matches the description perfectly, then feel free to tell me, though I'd prefer new characters -shrugs- ETS UP 2 U

Write a small poem of any kind:[/size][/blockquote]
[Neil Perry] - [17] - [Eran Whitz] - [Wonder][/blockquote]
Neil is confident and popular, at least to the standards of everyone else. He easily succeeds in everything he does, especially his training, and is liked by very well everyone, making no extreme enemies, which is rare in a training center. He's a natural leader. Inspired by the book he discovered in his home, he was the one who reestablished the Dead Poets Society. He is very aware of the consequences that he's taking - and is willing to challenge authority. Neil, though confident, and skilled, has never quite felt as if he's done anything spectacular, he hates being good at training - and wants to do something different, he wants to write, and act, and anything artistic. Though his extreme depression always lingers in the back of his mind, his positicity shines through as he leads the group each meeting, despite pressure from his overwhelming father.
[Todd Anderson] - [17] - [Asa Reau] - [Elegant]
He's always lived in the shadow of his older brother, an amazing career that was not only great at everything he did, but was also extremely intelligent and kind. Everybody loved him, and Todd has been living in his shadow ever since he can remember. His brother went on to found his own training school, and now Todd is expected to do the same, despite the fact that he doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. He's always had a lust for adventure that he's too afraid to chase, and seems to be timid and too quiet overall. He suffers from anxiety, and is afraid of large crowds and speaking in front of said large crowds. He doesn't think he has anything to contribute, and seems rather lost and lonely.
[Charlie 'Nuwanda' Dalton] - [16] - [name up to RPer] - [Cass]
Rebellious, extravagant, and reckless, Charlie is the most out there and extreme student at the training center, and extremely daring. He constantly questions authority without thinking of the ultimate consequences, and thinks on his feet at all times. He is not the biggest fan of poetry, and his inclination towards the Society is not so much for the writing, as it's for the ultimate rebellion. Woman-seeking, attention-seeking, and generally insane, he's a fun person to be around. His loyalty will run through straight to the grave, and his admiration for the other boys is something he puts above all.
[Knox Overstreet] - [16] - [name up to RPer] - [Lei]
The ultimate definition of Knox is an overbearing shyness. Though he's ultimately focused on training, to prove to his parents that he can succeed, and he can be something fantastic, there's a feeling deep inside him that wants him to expand, and try new adventures. Despite his shyness, Knox is perhaps the most romantic of the bunch, falling head over feels for people that idealistically aren't within his grasp, or his capabilities of achieving. His introversion is his general downfall, as he constantly tries to describe how he feels, it's to no avail - though, sometimes, he breaks out of his shell, and emerges a strong man, but not for long. He works hard for everything in his life, an idealist, and a hard worker, he trains all he can.
Steven Meeks - [15] - [name up to RPer] - [not reserved]
Steven is easily the most intelligent, and well trained of the boys despite his small and frail stature - and he has quite often made this point clear by blowing them all out of the water in any test requiring the slightest amount of skill. His reputation exceeds him, however, with reputation comes responsibility, as he's shown a light on to prove that he's the best, and remains the best. Though, not cocky, or extroverted, Steven is well-liked by the other boys and just ultimately wants to fit in. He was reluctant to join the Society, and still to this day is worried about the consequences that it may hold. But yet there's a nagging in him that keeps him going, meeting after meeting, as he slowly embraces the community behind it.
Richard Cameron - [17] - [name up to RPer] - [not reserved]
Richard is the snobbiest of all the kids, coming from a higher class family than the rest, and he makes it known. His ambition is far beyond that of what his actual skill level is, though his pompous head wouldn't let him think otherwise. He's completely compliant with the training schools methods and sees nothing wrong with the methods they use to insure results in young career boys. He is prepared to do anything in order to get on top, though the spot isn't easily achieved being in the lower category of his class. His attendance to the society could ultimately lead to his telling on all the boys and earning himself the top spot - though there's something deep inside that seeks not only success, but the friendship of these boys running wild through the woods.
Gerard Pitts - [18] - [name up to RPer] - [Lalia]
A shadow on the wall, Gerard likes to see himself as nothing but invisible to the human eye. In his last year at the training center, he has done nothing spectacular in his six years attending the academy, and is happy to stay in the middle of the back so that he should never get chosen to volunteer. The idea of killing disturbs him and his training is only the result of brutal parents who believe very much that their son should win the games, as they never got the opportunity. Though quiet, and extremely awkward, Gerard was one of the first boys to join the Society as a way to rebel and set himself free from the chains that held his lifeless body down. Tall, and lanky, he's withdrawn, and hardly steps forward to read his works in the club, as not to reveal how much invisibility means to him. He's not a risk taker, but he doesn't obey by the rules - he's simply average in his mind.
A Sam and Sara plot.
