Praelia Rubella/ District 11 [Finished]

Praelia is quite slim and athletic, with lean muscles and just above average height. Her lightly tanned skin almost glows faintly gold in the sunlight, her face could have been beautiful, if it wasn't for the harsh angles and protruding bones that gave her a sunken, hopeless look. Still, some do find her scarily beautiful. However, her eyes are bright green with small flecks of gold, radiating hope. Long, dark red hair tumbles to her waist that she normally wears tied up in a messy bun.

Praelia's hands are quite quick and deft, with long fingers that give her a very firm grip. If she had been born into a highter district, she would be guaranteed a successful Career. Despite the lack of nutrients, she has always looked full of life, only sometimes does sadness creep into the depths of her eyes.Ugly scars from whipping cover her back, obtained through the years.

Praelia has the definite streak of leadership woven into her complex array of personalities. Caring deeply for those she cares about, she would rather die than leave an ally behind. Unlike most others in her situation, Praelia is always able to see the positive side of things and would never give up on anything or anyone. Due to this, she could sometimes come across as overly optimistic.

Praelia does honestly mean good when she does things, but often, she only ends up doing more damage. She feels horrified at the thought that any of her siblings would take out Tessare, even the mere thought of their names in the reaping makes her distraught. However, underneath her caring, loveable skin, there is the flip side to her personality.

If anyone tires to attack her, Praelia would retort to instant, devastating violence. She can kill if she has to, looking only for the survival of her family. She also likes to deliver revenge on those who have harmed anyone she loves. She can be fearsome when she wants, and sometimes has to work hard to control her anger.

Praelia was born in district eleven, under harsh circumstances. She is the eldest of three children, her two sisters were five years after her as twins, thei mother dying in the process. Torn by grief, their father almost forgot about the family and it was left up to young Praelia to keep them alive. (Not turning into Katniss here) She couldn't hunt because there was no way to get out into the wilderness that surrounds her district, instead she worked hard and gave all her food to her sisters. Since then Praelia has given her life to her family, sparing no thought for herself.

She never really had any friends, preferring to keep herself alone. Praelia gets on extremely well with her sisters, never having fights and protecting them from harm, however she doesn't get on well with her dad, she has fights alot with him that sometimes end up with almost tearing the family appart. There were many times that Praelia thought of taking her sisters away and trying to escape the district. Of course that was impossible. Money was always tight, illegal trading was impossible so the only chance she had was working in the Orchards. As many hours as possible were put into her work, missing school as much as possible. Even with her extra work, Praelia only managed to bring home less than everyone else. Her father had no place for work, not earning a penny.

Praelia does remember one hunger-games. Her friend Alysion was reaped at the age of twelve. The fear for her friends life engulfed her soul during the games. The undenyable horror of how the Capitol treated such a young girl was horrifying. Alysion was seventh to be killed, her death was honoured by Praelia and her sisters. That evening was one of the only physical fights she had with her father, and a black eye to show of it. Ever since, Praelia has trained herself to fight. Every evening she would practise hand to hand and sword fighting. When the next games came, she would be ready.
