Appearance:

The locks that grow from her head are quite dark. Actually, she is sure her hair is black. Either that or a very dark shade of brown. When in the sun, her hair appears as if blue had been weaved into her locks as well. Her hair is neither extremely short or overwhelmingly long. It is the perfect length for a hunter like herself. When it comes to hunting, she may be spotted with her hair in a ponytail. However, when roaming around District 9, she wears it down. She thinks she looks more attractive with her hair to the top of her back rather than forced into a tight ponytail.

The first thing someone may notice about Ly is her beautiful eyes. The shade is quite a unique hue of blue. Much like her father’s, her eyes are ice blue color that seem fake. In the light, the color even appears almost white. She quite adores them because it insures her that she is her father’s child. Their eyes is the only thing her father and herself have in common. Around her eyes are short, thin eyelashes. This particular trait takes away the appeal of her beautiful eyes. Her eyebrows are unattractive as well since she believes that look like big, fuzzy caterpillars.

Her nose takes up quite a bit of her visage. In other words, her nose is pretty big. This characteristic is her least favorite about her entire body. To make matters worse, her nose is quite bony on the bridge. Her nose helps distract others from her appealing characteristics such as her delightful cheek bones. Her family must have had some sort of Native American blood because she has quite the high cheekbones. To add to her face, her jaw line is in the lovely shape of a heart. Her lips are a natural light shade of pink and are not overwhelming plump or thin. However, her butt cheek chin is not so attractive but is not her worst attribute. The champ for worst facial characteristic still belongs to her nose.

For a full grown girl, Lykainion is quite the short girl at five feet, five inches tall. This may be considered average for some but, compared to her family, she is below average. Both her parents are quite tall themselves which is odd how Ly had become so short. She is also quite small framed as well. She weighs only 107 pounds. However, she eats all the time. She blames the hunting on her lack of weight.

Personality:

Perhaps her strongest attribute, mentally, would be her protectiveness. This particular trait did not develop until she was eight years old. It was then that a person was born that needed protection - her little brother. She refused to allow her little sibling to be picked on even though he was too young to understand the torment. If she heard one of her classmates say even the slightest about her brother or his condition, she’d make the kid pay (maybe it be with words or her fists). When he reached the age in which he could understand the teasing, Lykainion would protect her brother from hearing any of the comments. Often, she made lies in order to boost his confidence. One particular lie was that everyone else was disabled except for him and that every person was jealous of his perfection. She, however, knows her lies don’t always work since her brother is quite smart.

On the outside, Ly puts on a tough face. She believes it is best to appear strong in front of a group of hunters because any type of weakness is considered a flaw. If she was weak, the other hunters would not respect her. However, on this inside, she is quite the softy. When hunting, before she releases her arrow, she feels guilty for murdering another living creature. AT times, she wants to scream at the animal to run but she never does. When it comes to her little brother, she is very empathic. She often treats him as a small child even though he would easily defend for himself. Although the words of torment are directed toward her brother, Lykainion is scarred by the comments as if they were insulting her.

Just because she has a soft side does not mean she doesn’t randomly get angry. Lykainion has been known to “lash out” on some people for no real reason. A person may look at her funny and she’d make sure to say something rude back or even try to physical assault that person. She blames the anger on her frustration with living with a disable brother. Sure, she adores her brother but, at times, it is difficult for her to understand the cruelness. Another reason for her random bursts of anger would be the stress she is under being a teenage hunter. Whatever the reason, she will yell, argue, or even physical fight someone without a legit excuse.

Being a hunter makes her be able to think on her feet. If she isn’t able to do this task, she would die out in the forest. However, she has nothing to worry about (such as getting a spear or arrow in her back). Anyways, she can think of a quick solution in a matter of moments. She is also pretty good with strategies. When it comes to hunting, she knows the best way to capture a deer or wild hog as well as predict the animals movements.

History:

Lykainion was destined to be a hunter the moment she was born (October 17). Her father was, perhaps, the most brilliant hunter in all of District 9. Well, maybe not. Whatever ranking he was, all she really knew was he was great. As for her mother, she was quite the hunter as well. However, once the most the forests were closed off to the public, her mother was forced to work in a factory. Her father, on the other hand, was encouraged to continue hunting game.

At the age of four, little Ly became very interested in hunting even though she was never allowed into the woods herself. She was fascinated by the soft furs of the animals her father had shown her and the taste of the delicious meats that her father sometimes supplied them with. At this young age, it was difficult for her to understand that her father had murdered a once living creature. Ly would not quite grasp the idea that the meat she ate was once running from her father.

However, at the great age of seven, Lykainion became very angered with her father. At times, she would call her father a murder when she would spot him dragging dead animals to get weighed in. Her hatred for her father’s work grew and she stopped eating meat in general. Because of this, her young body had become weaken from the lack of protein. She was so weak that her body had become a host for many illnesses such as flu, colds, and other nasty sicknesses. Soon after surviving a terrible cause of the flu, Ly gave into her parents and ate meat once more.

One February 10, eight year old Ly receive a little brother. He was born without the use of his legs so, unfortunately, he was of no used to the family. However, he was still loved by each member so his parents did not consider him as another mouth to feed but a member of the family. Ly believed that their love was not enough to keep him happy, however. She was picked on at school for having a useless, disabled brother. Lykainion never took any of this. If a person was to speak negatively toward her little brother, she toss her strong arms and cause fights.

Ten was the age in which she asked her father how to shoot a bow. He informed her that she would not be able to go into the woods with him because she was still young. However, he brought her to the basement of their home and taught her how to properly aim and shoot a bow. Even at this age, she was quite fantastic with a bow. She managed to hit her the outside of the target in her first shot. After a year of practice, Lykainion could not miss that immobile target.

After discussing with the person in charger of forest entry, her father was able to convince the person to allow thirteen year old Ly into the forest for a hunt. However, she found that hunting was more difficult than what she had expected. The animals moved. Fast. She was not able to move quick enough to shot the game. She did, however, get her a few tree branches and a squirrel with a broken leg. She told her father it was a terrible idea for her to be out here. Her father informed her that it was not. He took her the very next day. Then the day after that and soon enough, she had become a respected member of the District 9 hunters. However, because of her age and gender, it feels the need to constantly battle for their respect.
