Orin Donalds ~ District Eight

Appearance:

Orin's head is long and not very wide. His chin is long and pointed. His jaw isn't very wide and it appears almost round. The blond boy's cheeks are sunken in, as expected from District Eight. His almond-shaped eyes are a light green and he has a mild squint. His face is covered in scars and dents from a case of chickenpox when he was a child. His long and wavy hair is a sandy shade of blonde that is soft to the touch. The nose is a bit large for his face and wide as well. The nostrils are thick but narrow. His upper lip is thin and wide but the bottom lip is significantly thicker. His eyebrows are thick and match the color of his hair, as expected.

At 6'3" tall, Orin is taller than most boys in his District. He's also one of the thinner kids. He weighs 138 lbs., putting him in the underweight category at a BMI of 17.2. His legs and arms are long, thin, and awkward looking. He looks like a giant with bad posture if you see him on the street. His arms are covered in a light coating of hair and freckles. He lacks noticeable muscle because his family is poor like many in District Eight and can only bring in enough food to keep them alive. He does have clothes though, being from the District that produces most of the clothes in Panem. He's usually dressed in tanks tops and jean shorts with old ratty blue sneakers. His skin is pale as well.

Personality:

Orin loves to be around people but he's not interested in being the most popular person. All Orin needs is to have is a close group of friends and family. He's friendly to other people and is very loyal to the people he calls friends. In his school work and around the house, he's very hard-working but fails constantly being very clumsy but he doesn't get very frustrated. He follows the rules and obedience is high on his list of priorities.

Orin is nice but is easily a push-over. While he himself follows the rules, he won't rat anyone out. He doesn't want to risk losing any friends. Orin is clingy to his friends because he doesn't know what else to do. He loves cheering people up when they're sad. Orin doesn't go out of his way to make new friends, but he's always extra-nice to people who approach him.

Being too nice to people does cause problems. He's not the greatest judge of characters and can easily be bullied. He doesn't see that to some of his friends he's nothing more than a pet that can be counted on for it's loyalty. He unwittingly gets himself into trouble while he thinks his friends have the best intentions. Being clingy deters some friends too as well. He's not exactly the smartest kid in school. His grades are sub-par but he tries his best.

History:

Orin Mitchell Donalds was born eighteen years ago to Damian Donalds and Hannah Samuel Donalds. His parents were in their early twenties and both worked in the factories of District Eight. He was the first child for the two of them. He was a happy baby boy even in the less fortunate Donalds family. His mother raised him to be kind and hard-working as well as his father.

When he was growing up, he learned ways to have fun while he did his chores around the house. He had to take care of the house chores because his parents worked long hours in the factories. Occasionally, they would come home to broken dishes from his clumsiness. Still, his mother encouraged him to keep trying. She and he both hoped he would get better. He learned then that he would always have to try whenever he may not succeed.

When he was eleven, his parents had another child. This child was a boy that they named Cameron. Orin loved his little brother and always made sure he was well-fed and happy. He helped him learn to walk and took care of him while he was sick.

In school, he was bullied all throughout school for his height. He had friends, and he never wanted to lose them. Orin became clingy to every friend he made and made sure he gave them no reason to not like him. He was willing to do anything for them.

Currently, Orin is finishing school in District Eight and working in the factories after school to help feed his brother and family.
