Appearance:Personality:
Talah is five foot four and thin. She has fair porcelain skin with few freckles that proves to be one of her most striking features. She has a cowlick in the front of her hairline which pushes her hair upward and around her face. Her hair is long and medium thick. It is a dark shade of rich brown like that of the wet soil in which the trees around her district grow. The locks reach down to her lower back. She has no bangs but strands of her hair tend to fall into her face and cover her eyes. She usually tucks it behind her oddly large and slightly pointed ears. She has disconnected earlobes in which she usually tugs when she’s lying. Tal lets her hair flow freely and she does not style it, therefore it takes on some natural large waves. It part’s freely near the center of her head and usually looks a little unkempt.
She has a broad forehead in which she is not extremely proud of and medium angled cheek bones. From her cheeks her jaw swiftly angles down to her chin which is fairly narrow but not extremely pointed. She has a scar that runs the line of her jaw. She doesn’t tell anyone how she got it. Her skin stretches slightly across her face because of the lack of nutrition in her diet. Her eye brows are well defined and medium thick although she does not pluck them so she tends to get a few strays. Talah has abnormally large (although not extruding) almond shape light gray eyes intertwined with specks of dark green. Her iris’ have a dark grey ring outlining them. She has eyelashes that aren’t as thick as they are naturally long which often get tangled and fall out. She uses these opportunities to make long for hoped wishes. She tends to keep her eyes guarded.
Her nose has a slender narrow bridge and she has a large mouth with bow shaped pale pink lips. Tal has a uniquely long tongue that resembles somewhat that of a giraffe. Her teeth are large and are not a very bright shade of white. She often breathes through her mouth which gives her a relaxed look. Talah tends to bite or purse her lips when she is focused or nervous about something. In profile her lips, nose, and chin are aligned.
Tal’s arms and legs are lanky and show muscle definition from years of working in the woods with her brother. She is extremely swift on her feet. Some say she has reflexes that could be considered cat like. Of that she is proud, although she has very large boney feet and long toes. She was teased as a young girl who had not yet grown into her feet. On the many occasions that she walked through the woods barefooted her feet became somewhat tough. Her hands are callused from years of handling an axe and climbing trees. She has a boy like figure featuring only slight curves.
Most of the time Talah wears a plain forest green (or a somewhat white) T-shirt that is loose on her frame and either and old pair of jeans or dark brown pocket trousers. On her feet she wears an ancient pair of brown keds that have been falling apart for years. She also wears an old pair of her mother’s hiking boots that are a little too small. On rather cool days Tal often is seen wearing a classic red and black flannel or a dark brown winter coat, hood up, that she takes from her brother.
Her style does not call for that of expensive and flashy jewelry. Instead she uses her craftiness and weaves together long pieces of grass to create bracelets and circlets that adorn her head. She favors the smell and taste of mint so she often incorporates mint leaves in the weaves. Tal is often seen as a tomboy. She tends to keep her style a little less girly normally not adding flowers.
Personality:History:
Talah was always closer to her older brother than she was to any of the other kids in her district except an orphan girl named Alex. She doesn’t laugh at her peers inappropriate jokes because she never thinks them humorous. She thinks herself to be more mature than most of her peers. Averting her eyes when she’s around other people is comfortable unless she finds herself in a personal argument. She never bothers with a fight over a petty problem. Only something of extreme purpose or something personal will get her blood boiling. Tal knows the difference between right and wrong. Whether she shows it, depends on the situation and with whom it involves. She opts for justice. She holds grudges for good reasons but she doesn’t normally go out of her way to get revenge, although she will take it if the opportunity presents itself. Her stubbornness is her downfall and more than often has gotten her into unfortunate positions.
Talah is determined and doesn’t like to listen to the advice of others unless it comes from her grandfather Joff and is only about the usefulness of plants that grow in the woods. She prefers to make her own mistakes and learn from them what she can. She is entranced by the different usages and often spends hours in the woods collecting plants for medicines and for makeshift meals. Some of Talah’s favorite memories are those that include her brother and their early morning walk in the woods—when they can watch the deer appear through the fog and hear the birds begin a day’s tune and also the hours they spend logging with their dog, Pippin. Those are few of the times where she allows herself to relax. Otherwise she always keeps a watchful eye for peacekeepers. If she sees one she more than likely will turn away to avoid confrontation.
A sense of humor does arouse itself in Tal when she is around her family and close friends; especially her brother and Al. She ignores unwelcome comments unless they’re from a loved one. Only then does she ponder over what was said until its intended purpose is clear to her.
Talah loves rainy weather. Loves thunderstorms. And has compassion for animals. She prefers colors that can be seen in nature such as dark or pastel shades compared to bright synthetic colors. She has grown to have unusually quiet foot steps in which she often uses to catch her brother off guard.
Talah can take physical pain rather well and doesn’t like to vent complaints to everyone. She doesn’t mind getting dirty when out logging or doing a day’s work and she often skips a bath. Talah is unpredictable and predictable (in that she is set in her ways and values) all at once but she shines true to being down to earth. Although she believes in God and in a higher calling for life, she knew she could not be a perfect role model for her younger sister. Tal often daydreams of life outside of District Seven.

Basic outline of Talah’s Past
She was born into a basic loving family that included her mother, father, older brother, and grandfather. Her parents named her Talah, meaning young palm tree, for the ocean shore that they had always yearned to see (like those that can be found in District Four). She has memories of her father as a kind man with a loud, contagious laugh. She used to spend hours in his carpenter workshop with him and her grandfather helping to design practical furniture as well as more extravagant pieces for those who could afford it, which was rare and made money hard to find in her home. Tal thought of her mother fondly although she spent more hours in her father’s workshop than she did at home when her mother was busy binding books. Her mother introduced her to some of her own favorites and Talah grew to love reading about earlier times and other worlds. She met Alexandria at school eventually discovering that she was an orphan of a previous tribute. They understood each other and became fast friends. When her brother was old enough he signed up for tesserae. His name was entered 7 times that year.
Four years ago when her younger sister, Edell was born and when Talah turned the dreaded age of twelve her family planned an escape from District Seven. From the whole nation of Panem. They wouldn’t adhere anymore to the laws of the Capitol. To have either of their daughters entered for The Hunger Games. The year Camden was old enough to be entered they began long constructed years of conspiring that were, at a time, prolonged at the news of another child on the way. Eventually though, it was in motion…
Talah never knew what the plan was. It failed even before it barely began. Resulting, her mother and father were taken as prisoner by the Capitol for attempted escape. Her newborn sister joining them as she was not yet old enough to leave her mother while Tal, Camden, and their grandfather were left behind to endure the harsh years ahead, not even aloud contact with their captive family besides the memories they left in District Seven.
