Age: 17

District/Area: District 7
Appearance:
Starlan can best be described as short and broad. He stands only 5 feet, 2 inches tall and seems even shorter due to his build. He weighs in at about 280 pounds, but most of that comes from muscle. Being from a poor family, he has had to work hard cutting trees for most of his life. Starlan's skin refuses to tan, despite working in the sun. His hands and feet are also quite large.Personality:
Starlan is quite strong, being able to lift several hundred pounds. He isn't very fast, though he can keep up his speed for some time. Being form a poor family, Starlan has gone days without food, and, has some skill in gathering food, though he cannot hunt.
Starlan is no great looker, but by no means is he ugly. His eyes are brown, as is his short, almost nonexistant hair. His main fallback is his ears, which are rather large and protrude from the sides of his head a rather much. Starlan also has a small goatee which he takes great pride in maintaining.
Starlan is steady and dependable, if not the most creative man in Panem. He keeps all his promises, and considers his honor to be of paramount importance. Telling lies is similarly abhorent to him. While he is not vain, Starlan does take pride in his accomplishments.History:
Starlan speaks up for himself and his friends if the need arises, but is content to allow someone else to make the decisions, as long as they don't break his ethical code (no lying, stealing, etc.). He will follow orders given by someone he has pledged his loyalty to, but will turn on them if they suggest dishonorable action. The last thing he would do is betray his friends, and he sticks with a task until it is complete. Starlan's loyalty and determination have won him many friends, though some are put off by his persistant nature.
Starlan's faults , though not serious, are noticeable. Despite his bravery and loyalty, he isn't the smartest of men. He has a tendency to find the good qualities in everything, which can get rather annoying after a while. As Starlan values his honor greatly, it could be said that his dogged following of this code, even when it is not really neccesary. So, his overall effectiveness decreases due to his strict moral obligations.
Starlan's family is one of poor loggers in the vast forest of District 7. He was born into a family of two older brothers, with two more to follow him, as well as a sister. His family's poorness is increased by the need to care for this large family. Because of this, almost his entire family works cutting trees. All but his youngest brother and his sister, who spend their days preparing food for the rest of the family.Codeword: odair
Starlan's uncle was Reaped into the Games when he was 13, but a mad boy volunteered to take his place. Hearing tales of this close call for his entire life, Starlan is understandably frightened about being Reaped. He has managed to avoid it for almost his entire wondow of opprotunity. Despite his fear, he is protective of his youunger brother and would volunteer to take his place in an instant. Of course, the chances of them being Reaped are tiny, but still, a possibility.
Starlan's work chopping trees is mainly what has left him so strong. He doesn't, however, like this job. He dreams of eventually saving enough money to start a shop in town, though this is almost impossible. The only way he would volunteer for the Games without his brother being chosen is if something happened to his family, for without them he has no reason to live. This situation almost occurred when he was 15, when a fire almost burned down his family's home. Luckily, the fire was put out by a group of neighbora nd Starland himself.
