Age: 17
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 10
Appearance:
Nicholas is blonde, with hair that reaches his shoulders. He doesn't exactly care too much about his cleanliness, so he usually washes it every three days. He's been known to leave it longer though, when planning a particularly big hit. He claims that it helps him focus when he doesn't have to wash his hair, and it's true. In between washes, it accumulates lots of grime and filth. For that disgusting habit, he does have a good one. He always smells good. He always makes a point to steal soap from the rich people, and sometimes steals shampoo, even though he barely uses it.Personality:
His face is pretty average, angular and pale from staying out of the sun. He has a mild case of acne, and has pimples all over his forehead. He really dislikes this, but as he doesn't have the money to afford medication, he is forced to live with it. His nose is longer than average, and is slender, making it look almost like a beak. His teeth are surprisingly the most attractive thing about his face. He has a white smile, and is somewhat famous among thieves for charming his targets with the smile before robbing them blind.
He has a fairly small build, standing at just over 5' 5”. He finds that it suits him well, even though he has some difficulties leading. He just doesn't command respect. He wears a lot of thrown together clothes, opting to redistribute his stolen money, or spend it on things besides clothes. He does wear a suit on fancy occasions though, such as birthdays and the occasional wedding.
Nicholas is an incredibly mischievous and tricky teenager. He enjoys playing practical jokes on people, especially people he doesn't know, because then they have no idea who did it. To him, it makes the comedic payoff all the more enjoyable. He also uses this knowledge to disarm non-electronic alarm systems and traps. He also fairly good at puzzles and riddles, and they were one of his favorite childhood toys.
Nick Levitt is a professional thief. Unlike many thieves in the District, who would rob everyone, Nick only steals from the wealthy (Peacekeepers, Officials, and upper-end storekeepers), leaving the poor alone except to distribute ill-gotten gains. This has earned him a reputation similar to that of an old folk hero, a man named Robin Hood. Nick steals mainly for material gain, but he does it sometimes out of compulsion, when he hasn't stolen anything in a while. It gives him a rush, to know that he owns something that could land him in jail.
He has a talent for music, and enjoys entertaining others with his songs. He once grabbed a flute and some sheet music from an official's house, which delighted him to no end. He enjoyed playing it, and his group enjoyed it also. He was able to gather new songs over the years, and plays them at parties.
He's a coward, who would much rather run away from a fight than stay. It's a good thing too, as it has saved him on a number of occasions. He enjoys running, and uses it to stay in shape.
History:
Born on the streets, Nicholas Levitt had a hard time growing up. His family was poor, and they couldn't find good work anywhere. His dad bounced from job to job, and was never able to stay in one job long enough to make much money. When Nick was five his mother and father came up with a brilliant idea. They sent Nick out to beg for money. It worked, but just barely. It seemed that no one could resist giving a few coins to a little boy on the side of the street who looked hungry. It wasn't very much, and they barely scraped by. It was only due to Nick's older brother that they were able to have three meals a day.
His dad decided that Nick had to be taught more tricks to earn money, so he taught him to pick pockets when he was 8. When he was 10, he stole 2 cows from a farm, and sold them to a neighbor. He only did this once or twice, as it was too much of a hassle to cart around stolen animals. Eventually he progressed to burglary, which has sustained him since.
At 14 he began to gather a group of others that he could trust to assist him. This group included close friends from school, people he knew he could trust. Many of them lived in ramshackle areas of the District, but a few lived in the upper class areas. It was ideal to have a few rich kids, because they could steal from their parents, and they could case other houses without suspicion. This group assists Nick in his thievery, and often steal on their own. Nick has a brother, but they're older and work in the pastures.
