-dances for joy-
Name: Wilson Gregory Macintosh
Age: 17
Gender: Male
District/Area: 10
Appearance:
Greg does not leave his home often. When he does exit the premises, it is normally by car, so it's natural for him to have pale skin. Another logical excuse for his snow-like skin is the fact that Greg is albino. He never goes out into the sun without putting on sunblock. After all, he doesn't want to get a severe sunburn. Greg normally does not have any acne problems. But like most people, he is prone to getting a few pimples occasionally.
Greg is taller than most teenagers his age. His 6'2" stature towers him above most boys in his class. He works out a few times a week, so his muscles are relatively well-defined; he's not merely flesh and bone. He weighs 170 lbs, so he is on the skinnier side of the spectrum.
Due to the fact that he is albino, Greg's natural hair color is also a very white. But Greg dyes his hair. Normally, his hair is a dark brown, but sometimes it's jet-black. He dyes his hair platinum blond for special occasions. He doesn't normally experiment with wilder colors, like blue or green. Speaking of his hair, Wilson's hair is of a medium length, ending halfway over his ears. His hair, no matter what color, is styled to look a tad messy. He has long bangs that droop over his right eye.
Greg's eyes are red; another trait caused by his albinism. But Greg does not have good vision. Therefore he sometimes wears electric blue contact lenses. Unfortunately, they don't produce the desired result; instead of having a blue hue, his eyes become a rather noticeable violet. When he wakes up too late to put his contacts on, Greg dons a pair of thick black glasses.
His nose has a large bump in it, but it is a straight nose; it doesn't curve up nor down. His teeth have a slight overbite, but the doctor isn't worried about it. However, one of Wilson's teeth is slightly twisted, which could pose to be a problem later in life. Of course, it won't matter if he's picked, and perishes, in the hunger games.
Greg has a small scar under his left eye. It's hardly noticeable, but only because Greg tries to cover it up with a powder, which he finds embarrassing. Oftentimes, the powder comes off, causing Greg to excuse himself to reapply the powder as much as needed.
Personality:
Older people of District 10, such as teachers, parents, peacekeepers and important political personnel, Greg is a kind, responsible kid. He does his work diligently and carefully. He's a perfectionist, so his work can be much more detailed than other students'. Greg maintains good grades, but only to appease his father. He's very polite to grown-ups. Some might say that he is a suck-up. But Greg is able to talk to grown-ups in such a way that it isn't seen like that at all. He listens attentively and casually throws in a complement or two into the conversation, as if he were discussing the weather.
Greg maintains this facade in front of adults. He's extremely good at it as well. No one suspects Greg to have the aura of intimidation that radiates off of him. To other students, Greg is a scary human being. He's aloof, and is disliked by many others of the student body. Students may describe Greg as emo, but only because of his appearance (contacts, hair), and his intimidating persona. Rumors about him circulate quickly and quietly, so at times even Greg himself doesn't know what everyone thinks about him. But he doesn't let that stop him from doing whatever the hell he wants. For instance, Greg smokes occasionally, but only to calm his nerves. The fact that he took drugs once reinforces his "bad-boy" appearance. But this is because not many people in District 10 have ever tried drugs.
However, the real Greg has a different personality. It's the kind of personality that another only knows about if one trusts them with all their heart. Greg is a crybaby. He doesn't show this side of himself to anyone. In school, he just glares at all who oppose him , and they shrink out of sight. But he cries himself to sleep most nights. You see, Greg is so caught up in acting differently around everyone, that he's completely lost. He doesn't know what kind of a person he really is.
Greg does know one thing though: He'd like the become an actor. One who would perform in front of droves of Capitolites. He wants to be loved for ho he is; a thespian. He's read all of Shakespeare's plays that survived the destruction of the dark days. He figures that if he can show so many different personalities every day, what's to stop him from acting the same way in a movie?
Only one thing prevents him from pursuing his dream. He is. He knows that if he doesn't know who he really is, he won't survive anywhere. But he's afraid to show his true self in front of others, especially because he doesn't know who his true self is yet. But someday, he hopes to discover what kind of a person he actually is, no matter how long it takes.
History:
Wilson Gregory Macintosh was born in a large bedroom in District 10. There was nothing truly spectacular about his birth. Except for one thing. Greg is a bastard child.
His mother had an affair with an aspiring artist during a visit to the capitol. Bow how did she get there? You see, you must be an important person to be allowed to visit the capitol, and Elouise Maria Hill Macintosh was pretty important.
She was the wife of the mayor of District 10.
Greg's real father never knew he conceived a child. Elouise never spoke to him again. But she knew that the child was not her husband's. She knew this because of the nose. Her husband's nose was smooth, and curved upward into one of those noses that one might picture on selfish aristocrats. Heinrich's was bumpy and straight, the same nose that Greg inherited.
Elouise never told her husband. What would happen to the social hierarchy if anyone found out? The Macintosh name would be disgraced.
So Greg grrew up thinking tha the was the son of the current mayor of District 10. But he hated it with all his heart. Frances William Macintosh always wanted his "son" to be the best a t everything. He must be the smartest, the strongest, the fastest, the bravest. If there was a competition to be won, Wilson would be forced to compete until his brain fell out. So he did. And we won, constantly. But to his father, it was never enough.
School started. At the age of twelve, Greg was near the top of his class. Not good enough for his father. Thinking that he was alone, Frances threw a vase in rage, thinking of his son, how he wasn't good enough to be called a Macintosh.
But he wasn't alone.
Greg had just wanted help on a math problem. It was a simple question, really. But he had wanted to be sure he got it right.
And as he stepped into that room,
CRASH.
Twenty stiches, and a large medical bill later, all that was left of the incident was a small scar under his left eye. The consequence for not being near good enough.
So he simply stopped trying.
He maintained his grades, but only to make his father slightly content. He started caring more about his bod. He worked out more. He dyed his hair. He stopped smiling. To adults, he continued to act in a mature manner.
But on the inside, he was screaming. He had to find an escape from this torture.
He did.
One day, late at night, Greg walked past his dad's study, and heard a noise. It was the television. His dad was watching a movie.
Frances smiled.
And suddenly, Greg knew that he wanted to be an actor. He had always loved movies. The memorization lines, the emotions spent, the action, he absorbed it all like a sponge. He relished every minute spent watching a movie. And most importantly of all, it made his father smile.
So Greg continues to keep up his facade. But now he has a purpose. When he becomes famous, and all of Panem loves him, maybe his dad will smile and say,
"I'm proud of you son."
