It’s been really weird trying to run this organization without Shiep or any of the original members. Back then, while we were snapping at each other’s heels every step of the way, we still cared for each other in a brotherly sort of way. Hell, we even went so far for each other (remember that time I fell through a window in the roof of the warehouse for Malachai? Painful memory, actually) and still everyone ended up either dead or missing. As far as I know I’m the only surviving member aside from Lane, but who the hell knows when he’ll be coming back. Not only that but now I have one little reason to be much more delicate about the actions I direct the organization to do: Teddy. It used to be that I’d make reckless decisions and not give a fuck about any consequence but now I have to worry about any repercussions that might hurt my little boy or even Vicky. I know she can fully and properly defend herself – she’s the one that stabbed me in the side and nearly killed her after I tried hurting her – but I still worry; there’s still a nagging and pestering sensation that makes me second guess my actions.
This particular request had me second guessing myself. This girl, Charlie Smith, is asking “for a good time,” basically. The last time I had a “good time” I ended up being told that someone was pregnant. These new ST members are just young whippersnappers but I bet they’d all have a bit of fun with this girl. No one questions the boss unless they want to get clocked in the jaw so no one should ask me why I’m not partaking in the jolly, slippery fun. Well, I guess they should have a bit of fun before they either disappear or end up killed like
I pat the little packet of pills in my pocket that will be of use later as I head toward this girl’s house. It’s always been a little weird doing a house call but then again I don’t want any customer at my house and knowing where I live – or where any of my employees live, really – so house calls are where we’ve come to.
It’s toward the evening as I walk down the road toward this house. I told Alexis and Skid that they could just meet me there at the Smith house so I’m fully expecting at least one of them to be there (though I’ll probably chew out whichever doesn’t show up) and I guess I’ll just let the two of them have a little fun with Charlie. It’s like taking the two new kids for a test drive, you know? Should be fun. I raise my hand and knock on Charlie’s door, looking around for Skid or Alexis.
