bear Keeni
Casovnik. Wasn’t that the name of a tribute in the last games? Narley Casovnik, or something? No, I think it was Naveen. Well, that’s certainly a weird name – I could say the same about my own name, too. I guess “mom” just picked whatever word she heard first after I was born and it happened to be either bear or bare. Maybe someone told her, “How can you bear this child?” and thus my name was found. I figure “Naveen” is a more normal name than Bear so… yeah. I also wonder if this Kalyan is related to Naveen and if that’s why he’s sent for the drugs that I’m hoping Skid will bring. I mean, I have some with me but he seems to be the one that constantly has them; hey, maybe we can swindle this kid into buying more than what he bargained for so we can get more money.
I think drugs are just nasty so I don’t understand why this kid wants them, but it’s supply and demand, so we’ll give what they want. And we need more business – things have been lacking and our sales are way down. I’m still hoping that this kid will be easily swayed by a snake-tongued salesman and if we have to we’ll just make sure he takes some drugs and then he’ll probably be more easily convinced. Anything to get more money, really, but frankly I don’t care about the income; I care about all the confrontations, all the arguing, all the fights that are a hairpin’s width away from breaking out. That’s what I live for, not all the green pieces of paper. It’s handy, though, having all the money to bring in more stock to sell. Just a circle I always find my foot getting snared in like some trap.
There’s a warehouse on the outskirts of the main city cluster of Six that we use as sort of our “meeting place” for transactions. Mostly because I know the terrain and surrounding areas so well and the two new kids will soon, too, but it also makes me feel like we have the upper hand in any deals we do. Once again I find myself on the lookout for Alexis or Skid, hoping at least one of them will show up (though I hope they both do cause some drug deals can get really bad really fast) and I’d rather now chew one of them out for not showing up after I’ve agreed to let them on board with this organization that used to be so strong. Hopefully these two kids will be good for backup should things go awry.
