Jade Thomas, District 1

Look into my eyes and you will see nothing but hate and contempt there, a loathing and willing to watch you die in order to save my own skin. This pretty much sum up Jade, a woman who has been raised to hunt and kill, not animals but humans.

Jade is the type of beauty that if you’re not careful it will kill you. She has large brown eyes that hold secrets and it appears to hold no warmth for anyone. Most human eyes hold a kind of love, or warmth in them when you look but Jade’s eyes appeared to be empty, cold and dark. If the eyes are truly windows to the soul than you should know just by one look that this is not the kind of woman you should even stand close too. Most don't notice this because Jade has learned to train her eyes to betray other feelings, masking her own thoughts and longings. Her own hair shows how dark she is, for it’s as black as a raven’s wing. She doesn’t like to wear it too long, for it tends to get in her way, but she wears it to just barely pass the top of her shoulders, after all she wants to make sure people know she's a woman; in cause they couldn't tell otherwise.

Jade is pretty well built for a woman her age; after all she has been given every advantage that she possibly could since the day she was born. She stands about 5’ 7”, with most of her length in her legs, allowing her to put on a good speed but not run for too long distances; also giving her a good chance to jump over things that others might not be able too. Her arms are well defined from years of working with them, thought she doesn’t have the best upper body strength. She is able to lift 50 to 75lbs but is unable to move it more than a few steps and there is no way of throwing it. The most that she could throw is about 40lbs. Jade does know how to use what muscle she does have for her advantage and if need be she will hand to hand combat but in reality she rather stay away from the person she is fighting than to get up close; cause they could have the advantage.

Jade is the kind of beauty that can cause one man to stop and stare after her after just one glace from her. She has taken very good care of her body and it truly shows for she is round were she should be and muscle in other places. It also helps her looks that she tends to dress in clothing and accents her body and curves, not to mention tighter clothing means she moves better in it for it's like a second skin.
Jade does show marks of her interesting life though. On her right arm she bears a light white scare that runs from the top of her arm to her elbow; she doesn’t remember were this has come from; most likely her father. At any given time she also carries a bruise or two from her training, or getting into fights, though she tries to keep these away from her face since to her it’s it is an important assesses; even though with a black eye or two people think it only adds to her interesting beauty.

Jade knows that she is beautiful and that she is desirable; she doesn’t hide this in fact she used it to her advantage. If she wants something and has to use her looks to get it, than she will. The truth is she will do whatever it is she has to do in order to survive and prosper. She is no stranger to flirting and other such things and to her there is no shame in it; for she looks at her body as if it’s a weapon or a tool in order to get her what she wants.

Hunger Games: Due to training her whole life Jade has a great advantage over others because she has learned how to be a killer. She has skills for running, jumping, and throwing knifes; not to mention her looks tend to be a great value to her and she does use them. People are tend to be willing to do thing or forget to do things when they are confronted with a pretty face.

The thing to remember about Jade is she thinks about herself and only about herself. She always comes first before everything else, and this is not about to change ever. This is the reason she had no problem using a person until she gets what they want from them, and then tossing them to the side. Loving her will end only in heart ache because once she gets from you what she wants; it could be anything; she will toss you aside like a piece of trash.

Jade doesn't come off as a cold person, that's what makes her so interesting, she comes off loving and warm. She does this in order to draw people into her to make them want to be around her and want to love her or protect her. It is than slowly she used her charm to convince the person to do whatever it is she wants them to do, or to work her way into more power or money. In school she is what you would call a popular person, the kind everyone wants to be because of her looks and her very coolness toward everything. Those who have been used by her try to warn others, and sometimes they convince people but in reality who would believe that someone as sweet as Jade could be so evil.

Charming is another thing that Jade is and she uses this art with skill. There are not many people that can resist her charm, and it helps that her looks enhances this. She uses this charm to manipulated others into doing or saying what she wants. Jade does this well enough that most people don't know what is happening until it's too late, if they ever notice. If they do notice the damage is done and Jade has moved on.
It is due to all of this that pride is Jade's down fall. She truly things she's untouchable and unstoppable, and she could be right. Power is Jade’s greatest weakness; it drives her to do what she can but causes her to be argent. For she truly believes she is unable to be touched and in reality there are some others that are better than her. To Jade power is taking what every want without saying sorry, and she fears that whatever little power she earns will one day be taken away from her. Though Jade acts all hard and cold, there is a part of her that is just scared. This comes from the years of being abused by her father, she is worried that one day someone might over power her and force her to become a weak coward again. That she would live her life in a corner curled up waiting for the next hit or someone to just scream at her. This is why she tries so hard to protect herself, to be cold and curled because if you act this way first to other than they won’t be able to do it to you.

Hunger games: When you meet Jade you can't help but think she's just a sweet as cherry pie, with the face to match. She comes across loveable and sexy, and people will just eating out of her hands. It is these tricks she would use not only to gain people to sponsors her, but in the area as well for allies. After all the best way to kill someone is to make them believe you are on the same side.

Jade was born in a family that was less than normal. Both of her parents had come from wealthy families, therefore having money and never lacking for anything. Her fathers however was a drunk, and would drink away their money if given the chance. If it wasn't for her mother than the family would have been living on the streets due to the amount that Jade's father drinks. Jade however likes her father drunk, he's easier to handle and doesn't get as angry. Growing up Jade grew up in fear when ever her father came home, because he was likely to beat you if you got in his way. Her mother didn't try to stop the beatings either for she had her own life. She had married Jade's father because he was the one that had gotten her pregnant, and he had money. That didn't stop her however from sleeping around or the men coming around either. Not a very healthy childhood for anyone to grow up in.

From the moment she was five, Jade started to learn the art of fighting. . Being a daughter of wealthy family she didn't have to dwell on where food was going to come, just how was she to stay out of her father's way or stop his beatings. The best way she believe was to become stronger than him, then hit him back cause she had no hope of escaping; after all people in Panem didn't care if you beat your children.
Jade was taught many things but knife throwing became her weapon of choice. There was something about holding a blade in your hands and know that you take someone’s life with just one cute. The idea of watching someone’s blood come from a single cut that you had made, sent chills down Jade’s spin. Knifes were also easy to conceal, though she was never allowed to take them out of their training center, and you didn’t always have to be close to use one. One quickly flick you could send a knife flying to hit your target, than with them on the ground and in pain you could get closer to finish them off. A knife could become more deadly as well if you knew what to do; this is what lead Jade to apothecary; the study of plants. It wasn’t because she wanted to learn how to find plants that could feed her, heaven knows she learned that, or even how to heal a person; which she learned as well because you never know when you might need to do first aid on yourself. Jade learned this art so that she could find out what plants created the best poison that you could use to smear on a knife blade. This would make a knife very deadly even with one single cut to any part of your body, for one cut would administer poison into your body which could either cause death or great pain that you would wish for death. Even her training would admit that this is a little twisted for someone to do, but if you are reaped into the games anything you could do to win honor to yourself and your district is worth its chance

So as Jade grew so did her strength and her hatred for her father, but she learned a new still along the way as well; how to be cunning. She got her chance when she turned nine to stop her father from beating her. It had been on a Sunday, and her father had been drinking all Saturday but was now coming around. Unable to find anything to drink in the house that morning, he went after Jade because she was closes. Calling her everything bad under the sun and hitting her, which was when she finally had enough and started in on her father until he was knocked out. When her father came too he never again laid a hand on her, for the most part her father never even talked to her again; he was just there. Jade's mother's life didn't really change, expect she took more interest in her daughter and started to teach her the ways of seduction.

From then on Jade's life became her own, she as was in charge of herself and cared only for herself; after all isn't that what her parents taught her. She started to use people to gain more knowledge or even a bit of power if at all possible. Jade learned how to be charming and sweet, in order to draw people in and than use manipulation to get what she wanted. If that didn't work she went to force, but that she mostly saved until she was done with the person. At school she is well known, very popular, and everyone thinks she's their friends but in reality she only tolerates them to do her dirty work; homework is one of those things and thrills. Jade doesn't care about others and her dream is to one day be in the Hunger Games, to come out the victor and show the world that she is the best.
